Thank you for your service. I did a couple of tours in Kabul before I retired and know just how challenging it is to keep up with the league.
Again, thanks for your service. Keep chargin'.
Yeah, I remember back in the 80's in Germany when they'd have a delayed broadcast of a game. I'd go all day trying not hear who won. In the 70's when AFN would have a ball game on the radio the North Koreans would jam the radio frequency. Guess I regressed there. |
Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
Keys to the game: Both these teams have made its fair share of errors and expect more of the same being our first road test, but the key will be the health of Romo.
Defense must stop the run. I expect the Cowgurls to try to run the ball to take pressure of Romo. I fully expect Romo to play. If the Skins can keep Dallas from runnin in the first half of the game, Romo will have to throw and that when we should come after him looking for the turnover. Offense should come out aggressive and throw the first punch on the road. Maybe a little razzle dazzle when we cross the fifty. Oline play will be pivotal with protection schemes playing well. I fully expect the Dallas gameplan to come after the skins inducing "bad rex". I kinda expect both teams to struggle running the ball, but we will see. If our special teams play bad, we lose. Gano needs to play a complete game hitting every field goal opportunity, no stupid penalties or turnovers on teams. Sav needs to play well. I think this is more of a defensive stuggle, Skins 19 Dallas 17 |
Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
Looks like Romo will play. I'm sure he'll be pumped full of meds, I know I would be.

That board, which I do look at often, is in my opinion the epitome of Cowboys fans. They are mostly reasonably smart, know their team, and so damn smug that it makes you hate them even more. You would think that, rather than having only won 1 playoff game in 15ish years, they were consistently in the SB/Div championship games. Now I will give them that Sean Lee has had a helluva season so far, but the rest of their belief in their team rises out of love for the star. I so hope we put a huge beatdown on them, but they already have the injury excuses running high. |

I definitely understand...but sadly, it will get much worse if we keep winning. The 2-0 bandwagon is still a small one. |

Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
Did I just hear correctly that we are 6.5 points underdogs to the Cowgirls? Honestly, I'm glad we are considered the underdogs, given all the news the Cowpukes are getting.

Yeah it's amazing, Skins playing the most disciplined ball as of late, putting up the most time of possession and few injuries. Dallas has an injured QB, their two best WR's sitting out, their RB either sitting or playing injured and they have not played very good ball in either of their games. But the Skins are not expected to win. Go figure. |

It's also looking more and more like Dez Bryant will play. Terrance Newman will be back I believe, and Witten, Romo, and Felix Jones are all going to play. They're going to be closer to full-strength than a lot of people thought after last Sunday's game. And that's just fine with me. Bring it. |
Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
The collumn on Redskins.com titled Flashback: Top 12 Redskins Wins vs. Dallas is awesome. The comments just bring memories flooding back. Surrounded by silver and blue but a skins fan since birth its allways been a great feeling after a skins victory to kinda strutt around town a little bit. Everybody has there where was i when Moss did this or ST did that, and it is sooo awesome. I love the history of this proud franchise. Check out what the Redskins mean to this guy. Damn i love this country.
I remember #9 distinctly(the 2nd game in 05 35-7 destruction). I was in Iraq and saw the game on AFN. The Fall of 05 was a tough time for our battalion and the two wins against the Cowboys made that time just a little bit easier to take, it made that place just a little more tolerable. Many thanks to the burgundy & gold for those wins. HTTR! from the 1-109 Infantry |

Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
From time to time we talk a great deal about why we don't get our props among the media conglomerates in position to analyze us at the most critical times. Well, this game could very well be considered what we often refer to as a statement game with the whole world watching.
Win this game and it will be utterly impossible to curb the excitement and enthusiasm that will surround this team......lose!!! Did I say that?? Redskins win 27 - 24 |
Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
I think the Cowboys are the team VC wanted to build all those years. alot of disregard to the lines, and a "playmaker" at qb and skill positions. We will see if works any better for them.
Lotus, that board is interesting when not purely football oriented, ie the lockout was ok, but it's nearly unreadable for the first half of the season. |

It's not that we were lied to about Romo's injury. It's because he was healed by the touch of a unicorn. |

When they announced broken rib I thought no big deal. When they announced punctured lung I said he would not play because when you look it up everywhere it says it takes about 2 weeks to heal from a collapsed lung. Then they came out and said it was a collapsed lung. lol. Now, he's healed. No hole. Wow, his grits cook faster on his stove then everyone elses stove across America. He must have magical bean lungs. |

JJ must think Shanahan is a idiot. Is this old fool (JJ) rubbing his hands together thinking Shanahan is setting up a game plan that excludes Romo, Austin, Bryant, Jones and Costanza? I bet he actually is. Personally I hope they all play so we can finally STTFU on Monday Night! HTTR! |

It looks like nobody is picking us over Dallas, and that's just the way I like it. Apparently an injured Dallas squad is still better than us straight up. Good.

Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
I guess that memo from the league about faking injuries was taken seriously down their in Dallas.
|
Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
The whole thing was to make Romo look like the tough guy after he choked like a bitch in game 1. Perfect alibi now if the Skins kick their ass, oh no Tony was hurt. Now I am pissed!!!!!!! I hope D Hall breaks the bastard in half now!!!!! To think this chump actually was nailing Jessica Simpson is beyond me.

Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
I bet Dez Bryant and co are fine also. Watch Miles Austin come suited up, when the blogs had him gone til week 5. All BS I bet. But bring 'em on. I KNOW we can take them at 100%.

Rak and Kerrigan will bring the wrath of the Burgundy and Gold down upon Romo's head. And if Landry plays?........bring the stretchers.

6 and a half tells me the boys in Vegas weren't buying into the injury crap either. Dumb line though. The teams at worst are evenly matched up, but on paper you can't deny the Skins are superior in many ways. |
