Owe Arizona a 6th for Hightower

And the 2013 6th from Minnesota was conditional and looks unlikely now

I never heard that the McNab trade was conditional
Our line is actually solid it's not great but its better than AVG.. Our problem is we have NO QB and NO WRs lol if Wrs cant get open its hard to block all game.

We have a BIG TIME LT who proves it week in and out and a solid RT again give us a real QB and see what happens
I am with you. I like Hurt and think that we need another RT to groom and we are set, as long as Kory L. comes back strong

We need depth. Look what happened when our starters got hurt on the line. We fell off the map....

If for some crazy reason we either A) aren't in position to take a QB, or B) the QB's that are juniors don't declare, I really think we should trade down a few spots and take David DeCastro the guard from Stanford, he looks like another Steve Hutchinson.

skinsfaninok 12-01-2011 12:38 AM

If that happens we def need to go for OL or WR (Blackmon) would come in and be a star day 1

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)

Blackmon reminds me of Crabtree when he was in college. If thats the case, I don't see him being worth a early first round pick. I think he's very similar to Boldin. Boldin isn't a high first round receiver, he's a late round, good but not great receiver. I'd much rather have an Alshon Jefferey who reminds me of a Plaxico Burress. If you want to look just at this year alone, Boldin has like what 4 TD's. Plaxico has what 7-9 now? Because he's a long strider and great redzone target. That's how I see Alshon, Blackmon will be solid but not great.

skinsfaninok 12-01-2011 01:04 AM

Burress has 7 i believe and have u seen Blackmon play? He's a freak of nature almost guaranteed 10 catches and 120 yards a game while being double teamed all game long. He's regarded as a better WR than Dez Bryant was at OKST. Ntm he's faster than Boldin, he's a top 10 pick for sure. Crabtree doesn't have the same athletic ability as JB, he can't stretch the field like him

skinsfaninok 12-01-2011 01:06 AM

And I do agree on Jeffery btw he's a solid player

Blackmon will go in the top 5. Could see the Rams or Minny drafting him.

I live in SC, you are on to something with that comparison. A guy like A Jeffery is a beast, and tbh i would draft that kid in a heartbeat if we had the opportunity or luxury to.

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
What foresight is that?
Maybe talent/personnel evaluation or team building are better terms.

For example: when the Colts' FO/coaching staff discerned, acknowledged and then addressed the fact that behind Manning (rosterwise) there is no legitimate QB talent. From the time of Manning's updated injury status (which fortuitously occurred just before the regular season) the team, led by the coach, seems to do all it can to secure the winning prize from next year's draft.

If your FO/coaching staff don't discern the talent situation in the beginning...the rest is history.

For example: the Skins' FO/coaching staff failed to discern QB talent in four consecutive decisions (JC, McNabb, Rex, Beck)...and before that expended significant resources to overhaul an above-average defense while an among-league-worst offense...actually...got...worse.

Can we please stop pretending that Mike and Kyle haven't been royal f'ups since they landed in DC? IF they pull things together it will be in spite of the first two years rather than because of the first two years.

Oh, He'll definitely go high, no doubt about that, but I think that if there was the receivers from last year with AJ and Julio he wouldn't go till late in the first round, which is appropriate for the talent and production your getting from him. I agree with whomever said he's better than Dez. He is. But I just don't think he'd be worth a high first rounder in a normal years draft, because it's literally him or Alshon to pick from in the first.

Are you suggesting that, despite years of ignoring the QB position, and before the year started, the Colts decided to lose all the games they could in order to secure the first pick in the April, 2012 draft? That's beyond insane. They just fired their D Coord - was that part of the plan? If they intended to tank, why not fire him in August? Who is in on this great "conspiracy to lose"?

As someone else said, tell your theory to an unemployed Jim Caldwell as he sits and watches the draft at home this year.

The Colts front office has shown an incredible lack of foresight and simply "Lucked" out. They don't where horseshoes on their helmets for nothing!

Beat me to it.... Well it looks as if Luck and Barkley are coming out to play. If RGIII decides to join the big boys I think we have a good shot at getting one of the three. I still like Barkley since we obviously aren't going to get Luck.

I consider Boldin a much better player than Plax, not to mention he's a model citizen. Boldin doesn't have breakaway speed but he has size & strength & is an exceptional runner. Get him the ball & he'll get plenty of YAC. Plax has always been a threat but has never been as consistent as Boldin. I would bet Boldin is the better blocker too.

Funny, Alshon's draft status will hinge largely on his speed. Right now, word is that's all he lacks. Blackmon, as others have mentioned, is big AND is a game breaker w/deep speed.

If Blackmon wasn't a Big Time WR like Calvin Johnson was, he wouldn't be projected in the top 5 of most mock drafts.

Folks on here at times say thats not a true fan but I disagree, I'm looking out for the future and we need a Rookie QB to label as our Savior of a complete mess for 20 years. It's time to change that and draft a QB in the top 7

Wrong attitude. Your falling for the trap that all skins fan fall into, a couple good on paper acquistions and then midway through the season its "ooh well next year we could draft him and get him in FA." Repeat trend. Thats what its been for the past 10+ years now.

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)

Here's how I rate this QB draft class/Redskins QB draft board:
Luck
Barkley
Weeden
Tannehill
Tyler Wilson
Landry Jones
Griff
Russell Wilson

Overall:
Griffin
Luck
Tannehill
Weeden
Jones
Barkley
Russell Wilson (would be much higher if he wasn't under 6')
Tyler Wilson

Tyler Wilson's coming out?

Anyhow, my sleeper remains Tannehill. I mean sleeper in the sense that not many are talking about him as an option for the Redskins.

Idk about ILB in the 2nd round. If Fletcher is gone it's worth it otherwise we have more pressing needs at RT, NT, WR, CB, FS.

I'd have reservations about it.

I like the 1st round pick, but do we need a ILB? I think that position could hold off for a later round as a back up. and CB in the 3rd? I'd take a FS first. We have no FS at all. We are stacked at SS and CB (young and not matured yet) and I don't know that I would even do that FS pick so high. I'd either go(QB, WR, OL-RT/G), or I'd go (QB, OL, FS,) < the latter if we found a FA almost #1 WR.

I am pretty confident you are joking about this fact. I hope so anyway...

DeAngelo Hall (Hot or Cold, can't be consistent, gets burned too much)
Josh Wilson (Hasn't played up to the hype)
Kevin Barnes (Has not played well)
Phillip Buchanon (Can't keep out of suspension)

If it's not Luck Barkley or RGIII don't bother IMO

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)

#1 pick of Griffin or Barkley (if a trade for #1 pick is deemed to pricey) I am fine with. ILB in the second is too early. We will resign Fletcher. CB in 3rd round is also a no for me. Idealy I would like to see #1 Qb #2 RT #3RG for depth if nothing else. This draft/offseason needs to be about landing us a franchise QB and shoring up the Oline...anything else would be very disappointing.
