Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
Bradford would make an impact here. Even with the roster we ended the season with we arguably had more weapons than StLouis which is pathetic.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
No big shocker, but apparently Irsay has his mind made up on Luck:
Indianapolis Colts to draft Andrew Luck of Stanford Cardinal with No. 1 pick, sources say - ESPN |
Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
I wouldn't be surprised if the Colts drafted Luck since he's projected to be the first drafted off the boards. Manning's future is uncertain. He simply hasn't shown that he's ready to return and he's 36 years of age. But it's a long time between now and training camp and Manning could very well be healthy enough to play by then. But you have to look at Manning's age, and you also have to be concerned about the future of your team. That's why drafting Luck makes sense.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
I guess they won't bother listening to our offers now for Luck

Wonder if it's to see who bites or if it's 100 % true.. if so that sucks

F the Colts man, it's going to be like the Pack going from Favre to Rodgers.

Sorry but if they take luck I hope he's a bust. I know he probably won't be but I still do. Yeah I'm jealous |

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
So will the Colts pay PM's bonus in the spring? And will Luck want to come to town and play behind Manning, or will he pull and Elway or Archie M. and go to the team of his choosing?

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
RGIII to become a skin.... That is all

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
Kyle Orton makes throws that makes you say out loud: "Hey, this guy is pretty good, I don't know why he can never get a long term contract."
And then by the end of the game, he does stuff that reminds you that you've been watching Kyle Orton this whole time. Kyle Orton is a slightly below average NFL quarterback, which is about what Rex Grossman is. But if our system does for his numbers what it did for Grossman's, we could have slightly above average quarterback play with Orton. Of course, if it ends up turning him into McNabb 2.0....
100% correct. This is why I don't want Orton. I'd rather go after Flynn (young healthy QB that knows the WCO), I'd pick up a big #1 WR in RD1, pick up the next best QB in RD2, and also pick up either a late round QB or undrafted QB. |

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
so here's a Q
Flynn or RG3? |
Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
depends if we have to trade up. i would go flynn, then don't trade up and see who is available. if rg3 is there take him, if not we would have a lot of options
|
Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
I think RG3 would electrify this offense so I do want him but trading up and giving alot, I'd rather Sign Flynn

Makes more sense than giving that $$ to a rookie plus the pick. Just sayin'. If we got him plus drafted a rookie in the mid rounds to develop, would you be against that? |

I would have no problem at all with that scenario. |

I am thinking that is option 1B in Shanny's mind. |

If we're after a non-Grossman veteran, I think there are plenty of more appealing options. If we think Flynn is going to be a top 7 or 8 QB in the NFL (and obviously then the best in the FA class), we should go after him, but I have no idea what we would be basing that on. |

What would we be giving up for Flynn? A 3rd? |
Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
I don't really want Flynn either. In my pre-combine draft rankings I have Tannehill and Foles 3rd and 4th respectively with Tannehill getting a late 1st round grade and Foles getting a mid 2nd round grade. Now last year we missed out on Andy Dalton an Colin Caepernick, (Not mad about that at all) this year is very similar to last year exception being there is no Christian Ponder reach-esque QB (YET) Although Tannehill maybe that guy, In my view you can't take Tannehill at 6. Too much reach and pressure. Now no one including me believes RGIII will last until pick six, so lets say we take Blackmon or Claiborne. Now it's pick 20, Tannehill is still on the board, do you trade up to get him or fall back and take Foles as a "consilation" prize? So basically it's Tannehill vs. Foles, do you give up a potential 1st rd pick in 2013 for Tannehill now?

Nothing. He is a unrestricted FA. |

absolutely not. i'd be happy with taking blackmon at 6 if RG3 isnt there, and trading into the late 1st to get foles or tannehill, but absolutely not for a future 1st. id give up the 2nd and maybe a 4th or something. trading into the back end of the 1st shouldnt require a future 1st. |

Has anyone mentioned the possibility of acquiring TJ Yates?

hes been very average on a team with a hell of a lot more weapons that we have, in the same system. i didnt think he was any good in college, and i dont think he will be more than a backup in the pros. |
