Also, Anthony Armstrong probably won't be back.
Hey, I like that list, except, switch Flynn for Peyton Manning, and we have something there. Why in the world would you want Matt 7th round Flynn to tutor our new rookie future of the franchise over the best QB in the history of the league?
If Manning is available, I think we would be fools to let him go anywhere else. I just hope he doesnt mind coming to the NFCE and playing his brother twice a year.
The Peyton Place stuff today is enough to make fans crazy. Especially ESPN, Schefter was insinuating a release could happen as early as Tuesday - post SB settling. Just about everybody Mike & Mike had on predicted Skins in their group of possible landing teams. Meanwhile, IF the Skins happen on Manning, I would change that #6 pick (Blackmon) to the best OLine guy available because we're going to need to keep him upright. He'd make every one of our current WR's better. :) |

Also, find the best RT in free agency. |
That's about the only scenario I'd be happy with for either of them to be in DC. I'm concerned about Manning's health and think Tannehill is at least 2-3 years away from being a reliable starter. Don't want one without the other.
I agree with this...Tannehill needs time and would be a good combo with a healthy Manning. But if they get Luck or RG3 I would rather they play sooner and start taking their lumps which means no Manning. |
We do not have 3 RB studs. We have two good ones and a FA coming off a torn ACL.
Exactly. We don't have one stud RB, never mind 3! Roster is a good depth back and Helu is an excellent change of pace back but not a featured back. Hightower showed some but durability is a major question as is his vision. He missed a lot of holes prior to getting hurt and was not a 100 yard back for us in any games. I wouldn't be shocked to see us look for a feature back in FA or in the top 3 rounds. |

Wouldn't be shocked? Don't think Mike has ever drafted a RB in the first so don't think this draft will be any different. |
Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
I dont see us taking a RB in this draft at all.
Maybe a UDFA after the fact. |

I'm batting 1000 today. :) yeah! Well in any event we have enough decent RB's. I did say we need 1 FA WR and 1 drafted WR to compliment Hankerson and Gaffney. I believe Armstrong will be back if anything Austin or Robinson or both will be gone. |

I really wouldn't. I'm not expecting it nor is it my first choice but I wouldn't be shocked. |

This thread is funny. Apparently we have Hulu and Roster in our backfield.

Well since we don't have Malcomb Kelly or Chase Daniels around anymore to butcher their names we might as well start fresh! Byron Orapko endorses this post. |

:( I brought that on myself. Let me rephrase my sentence there. I will take complete solace in knowing whomever it is back there, it won't be Grossman. A fresh start and a new day can do wonders for your hope, provided, of course, that your fresh start/new day is with a young quarterback with plenty of upside, and not another teams' castoff that in all likelihood was given a chance not because he impressed, but because the starter was that bad.:) |
Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
I didn't read the whole thread, so forgive me if this has already been stated.
I think Flynn signs in Miami, it makes too much sense. We'll sell the farm for either Luck or Griffin and start the year with Grossman unless the other qb clearly out plays him. |

The fans would be screaming from week 1 to pull Rex. |

In todays league any rookie can start day 1 pretty much

I like Foles arm talent, he's up there with Tannehill and BrockO for best pure arm talent in this draft class. He doesn't have the best footwork in this draft class but i don't knock the guy on his footwork as a reason not to draft him. I don't have a big issue with his footwork, all these QB will throw off balance from time to time. I value athleticism and playmaking and for me Griff/Luck and Wilson all have lesser arm talent but they're all trump Foles in athleticism and playmaking. Griff Luck Tannehill (if no complications from ankle) Russell Wilson Foles Weeden |

They are/will be rookies.
But I like your optimism. Especially if we land one of them. |
Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
Optimism has got nothing to do with it. Two guys that should go top 5 aren't going to sit.

Not anymore at least.

Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
My desired QB - RG3
My predicted opening day starter - Rex Grossman. I still believe that the Shanahans are too stubborn to see that there's more to winning than their genius offensive system. We won't have as much to offer as other teams looking to move up for RG3, so I see us trading down again, adding picks to fill other needs (CB, WR, Line depth), and drafting a QB of the future in rounds 2, 3, or 4. |

Heck, Andy Dalton was a day one starter. Granted that it was out of necessity, but still. RG3 and Luck are day one starters if they are picked 1 and 2. |

Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
So my concern with PM is now not his neck since doctors have said that it has 'fused' and he can take impact/contact. Its the fact that he's not able to throw. Bob Kravitz a Indy Writer said that he talked to people who watched Peyton throw and that he has nowhere near the NFL arm he used to have.
He went on to say that it doesn't mean that he won't ever get it back, but it takes Time. The question is how much time? A month? 3 months? 6 months? A year? That is the main question right now for the Redskins should we Really get this guy (which I would be 110% for if he hadn't been injured; now I'm more towards the lets not sign him stage). Everyone is linking him to us. This could be a disastrous signing, should we give him millions and he doesn't throw like an NFL QB and throws like a high schooler. This could also be disastrous if he doesn't work at all in Shanahans bootleg system, or with Kyle Shanahan telling him what to do. This move, should it happen, would be a MAJOR factor in determining whether Shanahan gets canned or kept. Also, lets go ahead and say peyton goes to the Skins. What do we do in FA, and Most importantly the draft? Do we say Nope! we don't want you now RG3, and watch him become that could have been superstar somewhere else? Do we stay there at 6 and get either Blackmon or best OT available? Do we trade down and get maybe a Guard and Tackle or WR and Tackle? Do we go out in FA and go for DeSean (headcase which I don't see working for manning) or Marques, Dwayne Bowe,Vincent Jackson, Reggie Wayne, or even Welker? Do we change our system now that we have manning? Do we bring in Colts asst. coaches, and players to make our system more adaptable for him? |
