Leonard Hankerson, Wide Receiver

Provided the Redskins actually bring in an NFL quarterback in 2012, Hankerson should have a monster season in his second year.

He showed flashes of brilliance in his rookie campaign, his best performance coming in in Week 10 against the Miami Dolphins (his old stomping grounds from his record-setting days at Miami) totaling eight catches for 106 yards.

Unfortunately, his season was cut short on his eighth catch of that game as he tore his labrum, leading to surgery and a spot on the team's injured reserve list. He is in recovery now, and he should be good to go for training camp.

Hankerson is a productive receiver with speed and soft hands, and I'm expecting him to become an integral part of Mike Shanahan's offense for years to come with the Washington Redskins.
Jabar had a good year for sure, but he isn't the playmaker MM is/can be at times. Both are solid 2's
JG is more consistent, while MM tends to be all or nothing.

I'd be leary of giving MM a big money deal based on what he did in the SB.

Sounds like B. Lloyd wants to reunite with his boy McDaniels, that could be a nice move for them.

Very few Wide Receivers are worth trading a 1st round pick. Mike Wallace is not one of those players.

I'm sure we will still see a headline that says "Snyder is on a shopping spree again" from a lot of these sports writers. Good article though.

He can't? I've been down that aisle twice and it's usually pretty stocked.

I had him on my fantasy team I hate that guy! He had so many opportunities to be the man this year and he would drop balls left and right. Cruz stepped up and he was done.
Well seeing as we have one the worst WR corps.. Thats not a bold statement
No...we have one of the worst QB corps and a mostly unknown WR corps. I would rather see what most of the guys we have can do with a vastly upgraded QB. I would like to see Royal come in and replace Moss and one other mid level WR signed. I would save the big money signings for OL and CB.

If Hankerson or Paul played with Eli Manning we would be sitting on here discussing signing them instead of Maningham.

I would rather have Manningham then GB for sure. However, neither one are difference makers. Eli is the difference maker on the Giants.

He is restricted. If the Steelers don't franchise him they can still put a high offer sheet on him and get draft pick compensation if a team matches.

Plan "B" is all predicated on the notion that Peyton Manning will be healthy. And I quote:

"That's the important thing to remember here, Redskins fans. Manning isn't a "fading star" who's past his prime. He was, before his neck injury, playing at as high a level as any quarterback in the league. He got hurt and missed a season. Now, it appears he'll be available again. And if he shows teams he can throw the ball the way he did in 2010, he's a smart short-term investment for a team that needs a quarterback answer now and for the future."

"He was, before his neck injury..." That isn't very optimistic sounding.

Missing an entire season is pretty significant. Even if he has completely recovered from the surgery, the atrophy of not working out at a high level for a whole season means he is going to take a long time to build back up to the strength he once had.

If he shows teams he can throw the ball the way he did in 2010. He most likely won't IMO; at least not that quickly. Even if they neck surgery is fully healed, the nerves have to regenerate and that could mean they have not by the beginning of the upcoming season.

Manning will be 36 on Friday, which means by the time he builds back up to his former strength he simply may never be able to play at as high a level as before due to his age. I can foresee him working back up to playing shape this year and playing in 2013 for a season and maybe stretching it to 2014 at the latest.

Thoughts? I'd love to hear them as I know many of you have been critical of my negative view towards Peyton coming to the Skins.

Let me put it like this. If my options are:

Luck

RG3

Manning + 2nd tier draft pick aka Tannehill, Cousins, etc.

orrrrrrr

2nd tier FA qb/2nd tier draft pick single or combo

Give me anything from the first tier above. Second tier = disappointing.
