4th rounders and below are for addressing depth. Anything more is very welcome, but should not be expected. |

If the FO wanted these guys, they likely would have taken them. |
Wait ... an OLB?
Kerrigan, White, Jackson, Orakpo ... aren't we deep in young talent at that position? Am I missing something? What about OT? DB? ILB? Aren't we in need there? ... not sure what the thinking is.
He's an ILB. But even if he was an OLB, just because White and Jackson are on our roster, doesn't mean they have any talent...which they don't. Also, look at every good drafting team in the NFL. Position is close to irrelivant when drafting. The giants took Pierre-Paul to rush the passer when they already had Osi, Tuck, Kiwanuka, Canty, and Toleffson. I think that pick panned out. |
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
You gotta think that the plan for Robinson is to beef him up and make him an ILB.
He's too slow to be an OLB or safety. |

Well I am off to start my day, can't believe i waited around for some camp fodder.
if it wasn't for the RG3 trade this draft would have been a complete bust. We got us a QB! |
You gotta think that the plan for Robinson is to beef him up and make him an ILB.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
4.79 for an olb is slow. for an ilb its average.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
First - I am good with drafting depth and developmental guys. I disagree that Jackson and White lack talent - I thought they flashed well when playing. It is b/c we have young depth at the OLB position that I wonder going for even more of it when we could certainly use some youth & developmental players at the ILB position. If this guy is going for ILB - fine. Just seems a little light for the job. A real project - even more so than Riley.
BUT, again, after last year's draft, I am willing to cut the FO a lot of slack. |
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
every scouting report ive read has said hes very athletic and fast.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
Haslett already told Keenan Robinson he'll play ILB. He also played with Rak and they still train from time to time. I think it's a really good fit.

If he was drafted to play inside, It looks a lot better.

Are you saying "I have seen the reports that indicate that Haslett has said he will play inside" OR "I am betting that Haslett has aready told him he is going to be playing inside." |

That really has nothing to do with 4.7 being slow. I think we know that is plenty fast. |

Yeah hes playing ILB, but if he has the athleticism to play a little olb thats good. A 4th round LB is gonna be asked to play teams and know multiple positions. I would have preferred a cb or a lineman but i like this pick. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=71569&draftyear=2012&genpos=OLB |

No, Keenan Robinson said Jim Haslett told him that he'll play ILB. Robinson told reporters this via conference call today.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
The thing about Kirk Cousins this year that a decent of people don't seem to understand. He's this years Leonard Hankerson. Very talented prospect that went two round later then they should have. Incredible value especially when you consider the fact that you don't have to worry about developing him to be the guy for at least 3 years and thats only as a worst case scenario that won't happen.
Obviously I'm not an NFL scout but in terms of QB's Cousins was probably my favorite second tier QB and my top choice if we missed out on RG3. For me it was 1a. Luck 1b. RG3 3. Cousins 4. Weeden 5. Tannehill 6. Moore 7. Brock Osweiler |

first, he's not a 4.7 guy, he's a 4.8 guy, and second, 4.8 is pretty average. your proof that it wasn't was someone that was faster and heavier than him, which is pretty pointless. I never said it wasn't fast enough, but it's NOT fast. you're welcome to disagree, but please don't tell me what i know or think. thanks. |

Apparently he's good in coverage but I'm not sure if he'll make the team. I mean he could but I just don't see it. I'm getting the same vibe I got with Cody Glenn in 2009. |
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
6'3 -242 lbs. -4.79 40 yd - 10feet broad jump -35.5 inch vertical leap -27 reps 225 lb bench press. 3 year starter at Texas - a leader- he should be fine if he stays close to Fletcher to learn and improve on his weaknesses.
35.5" vertical/ 225 lbs. 27 reps - wow. |

When I see the FO take an OL or a RB I feel confident that said player will be able to perform but every other position is a toss up. |

I definitely think he makes the team with an ageing Fletcher and given how thin we are at LB. |
4th rounders and below are for addressing depth. Anything more is very welcome, but should not be expected.
Well yeah, but I think the only position on the field that we are probably ok at depth wise is OLB and now QB. If he's inside, that makes a ton more sense to me. Even if he's playing small, I don't care, He can still be good especially on 3rd downs in coverage. |
A bit late, but I like the Cousins pick. He can develop as RG3's back up and hey maybe we can trade him later on if he becomes a solid QB.

Please any tackle from Florida State or a Guard from Iowa.

I hope Cousins is prepared to only play weeks 15 and 16 when we're resting our starters after clinching the East for tge next 10 seasons. BOOYAH.

Haha..weird to say this, but this is probably the first time I'm hearing that a black guy isn't fast enough. Bravo gents.
Okay, carry on. |
