Re: Around the NFL...Training Camp Style
Its amazing the Jets get this much press for such a shit team. Even when they were decent they were pretty much overrated. PFT is running a headline: Rex makes the Jets run laps after more practice fights. Give me a effing breaking, the ESPN coverage is pathetic enough. The Jets are garbage, they might be the worst team in their division, its a realistic possibility.

The media vultures are circling the Jets because they know the implosion/meltdown is imminent this year. All the flammable pieces are in place (Sanchez new contract, Tebow, Holmes attitude, Revis contract..etc) and the only thing that remains is a single spark to watch it all go up in smoke. I assure you, this fall is going to worth it. :cool-smil |
Re: Around the NFL...Training Camp Style
How much worse (or better) would it have been if the Jets had done Hard Knocks this year! Such a shame to let such good drama go to waste.

Re: Around the NFL...Training Camp Style
When Ryan was first hired, I said he would be great for a couple of years but that, in the not too distant future, it's all going to implode. He started with whole it's "us against the world, no one respects us", chip on the shoulder, play by our own rules thing - that works great initially and as long as there is success. Unfortunately, it also encourages players to blame everybody but themselves. I believe we have entered that phase and hope to enjoy it immensely.
Never liked Buddy 'cause I thought he was an arrogant ass. Never liked Rex or Rob 'cause I thought they learned their sportsmanship from dad. The concept "win with class" is simply foreign to the entire clan. I intend to get a bag of popcorn and enjoy the Rex Ryan Kabomb. I only hope it can live up to my expectations. |
How much is the ten year vet minimum though?
He signed for 1M. But is only guaranteed 65K. And he only gets that guaranteed is he makes the team and is on the 53-man roster at the end of week 1. Up until that time, if he screws up Seattle can cut him and take zero cap hit. |

Gotta love Hard Knocks tonight!

FYI: Dez Bryant jogs out to practice yesterday last and late while everyone else is stretching jersey in hand. Garrett yells "get your jersey on"!! Tick tick tick.........

Thats right! No matter who's doing the show (even the cowboys) it's still fun to watch an NFL roster come together and see how tough the NFL is. |

You know the crazy thing? They are going to hand this guy a huge contract even after seeing how rewarding behavior like this ends. |

Dez is going to end up just like the Jets in the near future. Boom goes the dynamite. (2:30 mark) Well worth your time to watch. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W45DRy7M1no&playnext=1&list=PL0328333A2B81F951&feature=results_main]Boom Goes the Dynamite - YouTube[/ame] |

Hard Knocks almost put me to sleep last night. Miami has to story lines at all. That team has no sizzle excpet a washed up Chad Johnson. |
Re: Around the NFL...Training Camp Style
I thought Hard Knocks was stellar, as usual.

Same here. Although I will add, I played a D&D equivalent(called PathFinder) for the last 4 nights with the kids and that was a blast. Telling a 15 yo boy and a 12 yo girl that a Giant Spider just came out of the wall towards them gets 2 noticably different reactions! |

I'll second that. Hard Knocks might be the only show on HBO I watch in an entire year, but I still want to watch it. |

It was still good tv and all and I'm going to watch it....but it seemed like the other ones had story lines and more characters. Joe Phelbin is just so damn boring. The Jets and Cowboys????...now that was great TV. |

Not a Game of Thrones or Boardwalk Empire fan? Both are pretty strong series (I have to catch them on DVD, unfortunately). |

Oh come on. A three-way (kind of) QB competition? Long shots to make the team? Hot wives all around? HBO? I'm not seeing a downside here. Chad Johnson is washed up, but that gives them a chance to tell a redemption story. Everyone loves that. I feel terrible for that poor guy (a guard) who dyed his hair before Day 1 of training camp only to get cut before practice. Hope they bring him back at some point. |

The guy didn't even get to put on his pads. Glad he got picked up. |

PK is usually on top of things but I have to question him a bit here. Is RG3 ready to start day 1? Sure he's going to have some rookie struggles, but I think we'll do a good job at giving him plays he's comfortable running and also using the ground game to support him. To suggest that he perhaps shouldn't start the season is a little silly to me. He also says "A few days ago the Redskins moved Paul from wide receiver to tight end." Come on PK this move was announced months ago. |

This is why I see us winning 4-6 games. But by the 10th-11th game, if he's still playing, I want so see him having some Cam Newton type of performances. |

Yeah I acknowledge he may have some struggles early on. But should we keep him on the bench til halfway through the season as PK hints at? I sure as hell don't think so. |
Right now if he doesn't see his early read he wants to take off and run. Running will be a big part of what he does well but it can't dominate his progressions.
Wait huh wha??? I thought his camp problems were that he holds the ball too long, because he was forcing through his progressions? odd. |
