***Just heard a rumor that Grossman is to be cut and Cooley to be re-signed.***
At this point, it's just a rumor. Can not verify.
They should have made that move a long time ago, who cares about a veteran QB that is basically bad. I rather go with a rookie like Cousins, he will make rookie mistakes, Grossman is a 10 year veteran still making rookie mistakes. |

Maybe a fresh start and a total recommitment to just at least trying to become the player he once was would benefit him. You knew this whole time didn't you?..lol Hearing from insiders on ES that a big reason to his downfall is because he partied hard when he should have been rehabbing. His partying evidently led to him being promiscuous and hence his divorce. Ditto. Grossman appears to be a waste of a roster spot now. Cousins appears to be the backup, in which case Rex should never see the field again as a Skin. Try to trade him (yeah right lol), so just cut him loose and bring in someone who will/could actually contribute. |

We're talking injury rehab, right? |
Re: Chris Cooley Released
Why can't couples stay married for 40 and 50 and 60 years anymore in this country? Damn shame. I hope the Redskins hurry up and re-sign Cooley.
|
Re: Chris Cooley Released
^^ I read in a history book not too long ago the highest divorce rate in American history was...wait for it...the years after WWII. Kinda makes sense when you think about it though.
I wonder if Cooley's head is really in the game right now? |
Re: Chris Cooley Released
This is Chris's second marriage. No surprise. He's a football player, shes the hottie after 4 years of realizing you like eachother for looks and money and not personality and other stuff, it happens.
Chris's head clearly isn't on right, right now. He probably wants football though to get his mind off of this. But lets all be honest here. The last time Chris was good was 08, then injuries started to hit that man hard. |
Re: Chris Cooley Released
Cooley is a professional. I'm sure his head is glued on right. We don't know specifically what happened between he and his wife for a divorce to come about. Or do we? Cooley needs to be thankful that he didn't have any children with this chick.
|
Re: Chris Cooley Released
He'll get some new panoche and his "head" will straighten out quick.

I think it's quite clear what happened from a few people in the know. He was out getting drunk and not taking his rehab seriously, and during those partying times he was hooking up with other chicks. Hence why his wife is giving him the boot.
He'll get some new panoche and his "head" will straighten out quick.
I think that was the problem. He was out getting new panoche instead of doing what he supposed to. |

Should've signed a pre nup.

Not alcohol rehab. Injury rehabbing.
Should've signed a pre nup.
No. Shouldn't have gotten married if he wanted to party and mess with different women. |

Who is to say she wasn't cheating?
|
Re: Chris Cooley Released
Who is to say she wasn't cheating?
Cooley cheated on his first wife with a Redskins cheerleader, then hooked up with another cheerleader who ended up being the wife he is divorcing from now. So he could have cheated, it could have been her as well. |
So that's an inference, not a fact.

Congrats. You must have married an amazing woman, being able to tolerate a Giants fan for 3 decades. My wife and I just hit 11 years...no end in sight. |

Who cares. It's their business, their marriage, their mistakes, their lives. I don't even care to know...lets not turn this into some kind of Oprah-style celeb gossip forum. As for the football part of his life...I'd still like to see Chris back for FB depth and Fred insurance. |
Re: Chris Cooley Released
he's rocky 3 at this point, lang just ko'd him. he needs a new trainer, he's already got the shorts. once he's clapping and hugging in the waves, he's ready to come back

Or just good news about Cooley!

Re: Chris Cooley Released
It's unfortunate what's happened. I don't know the whole side of the story. I know at Redskins Park he was a goofball whoe almost never took practice seriously. Always showed up but liked to clown around a lot. Outside Redskin Park he made decisions that have permanent repercussions I hope he's man enough to own up to and take care of. I've seen worse, much worse when it comes to off-field behavior. Regardless of all this, I don't think we'd really benefit long term from bringing him back.

All the behind the scenes talk points to him. Not really that surprising when you think about it. Young athlete/celeb, likes to party (allegedly). He's not the first and certainly not the last. |

Sounds like whatever he did, you really, really, really don't have much respect for him at all as a player or a person. |
Re: Chris Cooley Released
also, cooley was cheating on his first wife with multiple cheerleaders before marrying one of them, so... there's a track record.

I wouldn't say that. I mean I don't really condone what he did, but if he owns up to it and takes care of it I guess that's all you can ask for. Like I said I know worse. I mean there's the story some of you know about another former great. And probably nothing worse than the offensive skill player who's fiancée was pregnant...by one of the dude's teammates...while they were engaged. That secret stays with me though. They were role players from way back though |

Well, from what I've heard there's still A LOT of stuff that hasn't been made public. I'm not one to really support a cheater. I could definitely see how much easier it would be when you're a sports player, let alone a fan favorite, but still can't respect him for obvious reasons. If the other stuff is true, then I 110% can say Cooley is a POS. |
Re: Chris Cooley Released
Personal life is so for a reason, shit happens and bitches be crazy, and who-ares sometimes... its like, i was a lil tipsy and she started bl****g me... what am i suppose to say no? You only live once, and if you find "the one " you won't cheat, and if you do? Then shes not the one ... we're all only human, and to be human is to err...
