There is a difference between moderating and policing. If SS was "policing " opinions from one side of an argument in a thread about said argument than yes its bs. I mean, that's an opinion, and maybe even the consensus opinion, but there's another side to it. Never heard of the ESPN guy before today, but the fact he's on ESPN means he's a public person who holds a pretty repulsive picture of our society, or maybe life in general. Certainly the day's events are cast in the tragic shadow of yet another shooting rampage. But aren't racial tensions etc a matter of life and death too? I mean it just happened again in Florida where some idiot (white) shot a kid (black) for allegedly playing the stereo too loud.

Personally, I read what folks say about these events with more interest than I do about anything football related. I was reading all the comments in the locked thread and then saw it was off-limits here, seemed weird. That's all. No hard feelings here.

Yeah man. We all agree the dude is racist. But smoot wasnt policing that thought. He was moderating the thread. And i think cus i dont and cant speak for him that this thread is about rg-3. The only cure i see for racism is to ignore it and hope it dies a sad and lonely death so lets treat it with utter disregard. I hear u that there are more important things than football but the other thread was locked because it was ongoing here. And again it can only be said so many times that the guy is an ass. First of all, I didn’t say let’s not discuss it anymore because-as you half seriously said-we can’t say anything negative about Shanahan OR ESPN. Negative stuff is said about ESPN all the time here. I myself have expressed on more than one occasion my concerns about First Take in particular. I even started a thread about rising competitors to ESPN and how I thought it was a good thing.

So football discussion is what’s going to come first. I don’t know what locked thread you’re talking about but I assume you’re talking about Dmek’s thread, which had like two or three comments in it.

It then became apparent after several posts here that the discussion was nothing more than “Parker’s an idiot” “ESPN should fire him” There was no deep discourse. I asked you a couple of times if you were joking and then yeah by the time you started associated me moderating the thread with being a Nazi, a lot of people took that seriously. But Matty and the other mods (myself included) have chosen not to do that, not yet at least. This isn’t a threat, it’s more like a warning. You shouldn’t have jumped to the wrong conclusions here. You did a post-game (after you actually watched the game) of I think the Giants game that was fantastic, but those are way way too far and few between.

I don't think its that telling. griffin may feel able to go, everything looks good, then Sunday it doesn't feel right and he can't go. better to have cousins get all the snaps in practice just in case. I also imagine they are confident griffin can run the offense at this point, so let cousins train.

1. I will be relieved if RG3 plays.

2. I will be one of two things if Cousins plays.

a - Extremely happy that he kicks ass and puts up a nice statline, thus increasing his trade value to around a second round value.

b - Ridiculously happy that he kicks MAJOR ass and puts up and ALL WORLD statline, thus increasing his trade value into two first round picks and a second.

I'd be more happy with option 2 (b) of course, although it will most likely be 2 (a).
Man it feels crazy to have stability and depth at the QB position!

there's no way kirk puts up enough stats in 1 game for multiple 1st round picks. we'll be lucky to get a 1st for him, even if he goes 4tds/0ints 300 yards or something silly.

I don't know about that. I mean, it's unlikely that we get multiple 1st rounders, but Kolb got DRC and a 2nd w/out a whole lot behind him. Flynn made a bundle of cash on one good game. It's a QB hungry league and there are a lot of teams willing to take risks to solidify the QB position.

MS and BA actually may have helped any trade scenario by trading a butt load for RGIII. Given how well it has worked for them, GM's might be more willing to take a few risks to get a starting QB. If KC shows really well and MS pumps up what a great QB he is, I would not be surprised to get a 1st and starter for him.

At the same time, I would be happy to keep him around through the penultimate year of his contract. A good young back up is an incredible luxury, we should not be too quick to trade it away.

Honestly bro I agree that Griffin should sit a week, but there is another part of me that wants to win three more games and be 10-6. To get there I believe that Griff needs to play. But at the same time I know this is more about putting a player like him out there with the risk of creating a much worse situation for all of us.

I would have been ecstatic with 8-8 considering our situation this year. Now I want to win the division as a fan, and also as a guy who would love to see the cosmic forces come together and punish Mara for handicaping us!

I'm torn if I'm happy or not about this...RGIII is our future and I want him to remain healthy but this to me kinda says that we are not taking our playoff chances seriously as if you are and our best player can play then he plays.

I think Kirk can win but our offense is going to be different with him in the line up. It changes everything, passing game, running game, the play action which has been vital to our success everything. The Browns are not the greatest but they have a decent D and now do not have to account for RGIII so they can key our run game and tee off on Kirk.

Not the best position to be in when we need to win this game and still need help to make the playoffs.

Don't get me wrong still think we can pull it out but it's gonna be a lot tougher. HTTR

I will admit it's not a good look for Griffin to already miss games as a rookie but he's gotta sit. IMO luck is a lock now for roy.
