What the heck are you talking about, this kid bought the gun a month ago, passed background checks, has no history of mental illness, and was of age to buy guns. Name any law passed or vetoed that would have prevented this fellow from buying a shotgun for home protection? Even if there WERE a way to keep guns out of the hands of people who are bent on murdering someone, there are other things they can use to do it. "YOUR WAY" of disarming the general public so the killers can have free reign on taking out anyone they want without the chance of anyone defending themselves isn't working. Such a simple concept, yet so difficult for so many people...hence the situation our nation is in these past 5+ years. |

School shootings unnerve Americans, but the number of children injured or killed in those tragic events is just a fraction of the young people harmed by firearms each year in the United States, a new study finds. Injuries from firearms send more than 7,000 kids to the hospital annually, an average of 20 per day. Among those admitted to the hospital, 6 percent die from their injuries, according to the study published in Pediatrics Monday. “That’s more than 7,000 children injured badly enough to be hospitalized,” said Dr. John Leventhal, the study’s lead author and a professor of pediatrics at the Yale School of Medicine. “All are unnecessary hospitalizations because preventing gun violence is something that can actually be done.” In addition to children hospitalized for gun injuries, another 3,000 die before they can make it to the emergency room, meaning guns hurt or kill about 10,000 American children each year, Leventhal said |
 , think about it .
What's your point? Mine is most gun laws do not work. The gun control debate is an interesting one as it is an argument where one side (the anti-gun crowd) usually knows next to nothing about what they want to control. I find the outrage against assault rifles because of there use in mass shootings comical. In most of those a pistol would have been a better weapon of choice as they were done at short range and in a confined space, the pistol is much easier to conceal, maneuver and aim than a rifle with a two foot long barrel. Another one is the limit on clip size down to seven shots in a lot of places. I have neither fast hands or nimble fingers, but I can pull a clip out of a jacket pocket and change it out in less than 3 seconds. I saw a guy doing that in an internet video and I swear he was so fast you could barely tell he was changing them out, I bet it was less than a second. |

Wow Giantone, instead of just admitting you stuck your foot in your mouth, you just go on another tirade. How could someone not understand why there was only a 322 next to that assault rifle? Typical anti gun person, instead of listening to the other side of the argument, you are just concerned with what you are going to blurt out next. If anyone needs to listen to the other side it is the anti gun crowd, most know zero about guns, and propose solutions that don't work. The only people who are going to obey more gun laws are law abiding citizens who don't go around shooting people anyway.
