If we are forced to change the name then it should be the Braves, the original name we had but I am totally against changing the Redskins name.
And so are a majority of people according to an AP Poll:

AP: More Americans hail Redskins over other names for Cowboys' rival

Never been a big fan of polls. I'll make an exception in this case.

WASHINGTON — It’s been a rough offseason for the Washington Redskins, and not just because of the knee injury to star quarterback Robert Griffin III.
The team’s nickname, which some consider a derogatory term for Native Americans, has faced a barrage of criticism. Local leaders and pundits have called for a name change. Opponents have launched a legal challenge intended to deny the team federal trademark protection. A bill introduced in Congress in March would do the same, though it appears unlikely to pass.
But a new Associated Press-GfK poll shows that nationally,“Redskins” still enjoys widespread support. Nearly four in five Americans don’t think the team should change its name, the survey found. Only 11 percent think it should be changed, while 8 percent weren’t sure and 2 percent didn’t answer.
Although 79 percent favor keeping the name, that does represent a 10 percentage point drop from the last national poll on the subject, conducted in 1992 by The Washington Post and ABC News just before the team won its most recent Super Bowl. Then, 89 percent said the name should not be changed, and 7 percent said it should.

<shakes fist at skinsfaninok for being first>

And, just my two cents on this name change crap, and I'm sure Cult has said it before, but I feel that a majority of the country is getting to the point of being more than fed up with all of this PC BS taking over society. There will not be a name change, but there will eventually be a backlash against the in your face ever present "PC" crowd.

I don't understand the hate for Tim tebow, really what has he done wrong? If we bring him in it's not like he'll be passing the. Ball around the field. Think about the threat he could be running in short yardage and saving griffs body instead

LOL....this will be a great circus.
Cut a couple of our decrepit safety's and sign him.
Let him play H back and special teams....send him across the middle on third down.
Defenses wont know wtf to do.
BS rumor.
So for my first "tweet" ever, I asked an insider I follow if there was any truth to the rumour.
I may be the first person ever to be laughed off the "twitternet" on the first try. Essentially, per one good source, it is "an insult to rumours to call Tebow to the Skins a rumour". LOL

Brandon Banks will be back on the team before Tim Tebow ever joins us.

Seriously name one thing Tebow can do so well that we need him?

Monkeydad 05-03-2013 09:56 AM

Re: Official Redskins Off-Season News & Rumors-Part Trois

Goal line would be the best use of him...not at QB, as an H-back/RB.

Alfred Morris/ Daryl Young; No need to waste a roster spot on Tebow.
