Not sure who you quoted Tripp, but I also want to say this....
Whether the players are underperforming or not good enough....well that falls squarely on the same people he is referring to. |

C'mon! HTTR!
And what about ST and D? They also need to do their part, I'm more worried about this than RGIII. |
Re: Skins Viks Postgame
Does anyone know who the UFA's are for 2014? I would like to see us really go after some O-linemen. These undersized guys that Shanahan prefers don't seem to hold up well in pass pro.

Here's a list of some of the higher rated OL in FA. I showed their positions, present teams, and ages. I don't know if any of them has been extended and, of course, some them could be tagged. Jared Veldheer OT Oak 27 Roger Saffold OT StL 26 Zack Strief OT NO 30 Branden Albert OT KC 29 Eugene Monroe OT Bal 27 Jon Asamoah OG KC 26 Alex Mack OC Cle 28 Brian De La Puenta OC NO 29 See anyone you like? P.S. I just read that the Rams are moving Saffold to RG. |
This loss is really bothering me guys. What a different attitude I would have rite now.
Still say that this is the worst loss I have ever had to deal with - all things considered. The opponent, the way the first half went, the importance of the game, the state of our division where it is just up for grabs.
Look at it like this, a 1 win team beat a 3 win team. It's not like we were some powerhouse that got knocked off. |
Look at it like this, a 1 win team beat a 3 win team.
It's not like we were some powerhouse that got knocked off.
I agree 100% about us not being a powerhouse, but Griff looked so sharp in the first half. Ponder and Cassell should not have picked us apart like they did, and especially missing two starters on the o-line. We SHOULD have won that game. I mean if we can beat San Fran, KC, Dallas, and win our last seven, than how did we not beat the Vikings. ;) |
When you have a D as bad as ours anyone can beat us . I'm over the L already because we wouldn't win the east anyway. Can we even beat Dallas or Philly?
|
Worst loss that I can say for me was the mnf ass kicking by Philly. That was just terrible.
The pats 52-7 game was bad as well |

I think he's the best player on the list but I'd bet that Cleveland would tag him rather than let him walk. |

I'd say no to both. But Dallas is a home game so I'll chalk that up to a maybe. |
Re: Skins Viks Postgame
I think we can beat Philly but right now I dont think we will. Defense needs some revamping at every level.

Eagles are on fire and its in Philly, I'd be surprised if we win next week. |
Re: Skins Viks Postgame
I think we will win at philly. Seems like whenever we think its a win, we get a loss, and when we expect a loss, they pull it out. I still think .500 or even 9-7 is possible, but not without some major "get your fuckin asses in gear" from the OLine and Special teams. Our special teams are playing like a fuckin Special ED team. Fuckin droolin' all over their jerseys as Rocca punts the ball to his ST coach 15 yards away on the sidelines.

They are 0-5 at home this year so I am sure we will find a way to end that streak. |

I really wanna see someone else on returns. This Morgan and Paul shit can eat my ass.

Moss can do punts, since he's seeing less action than Garcon and Hank and maybe even Morgan. Yuck. And I thought Robinson could do kicks? I thought he was fast enough. Skins only use him for go routes anyway. Paul really didn't do that bad on kickoffs last game though, but I remember how he'd like to get the butterfingers last season which doesn't make me feel too cozy. |

The Fact that Robinson hasnt returned one kick since being here just makes me wanna vomit, I dont see why they dont just put him there. |

Anyone know who will replace Thompson on the roster? Will they bring Jamison up or someone else from PS?

I think Thompson had already been kicked back to the practice squad after not doing squat the first few weeks as part of the team. I don't think they'll be doing any moving. |

Wasn't he terrible during preseason a couple of years back at returning kicks? |

He was inactive, but not on the practice squad |
Wasn't he terrible during preseason a couple of years back at returning kicks?
lol if so, the Skins really needed to have a backup plan in place in regards to a PR/KR. I know we weren't expecting Crawford getting a season ending injury, but we always seem to throw our support behind one guy and if they suck or get injured, it seems like they just put anyone who has two working legs back there. |
Re: Skins Viks Postgame
Wasn't he terrible during preseason a couple of years back at returning kicks?
Couldn't be any worse than the horse crap we have back there now. Hell put Helu there, put Robinson there, put Moss there, put Doughty there, just tired of seeing Morgan and Paul. |
Re: Skins Viks Postgame
He was inactive, but not on the practice squad
It is just that in a league where field position is so damn important, excluding the Josh Morgan 40 yard return and the Crawford return against the Ravens when was the last time we had someone who consistently changed field position? Ladell Betts, Rock Cartwright, Niles Paul,Brandon Banks, Josh Morgan, Devin Thomas. Ladies and gentlemen, the kickoff returners of the Washington Redskins as of recent. |
Re: Skins Viks Postgame
Nick Williams was an outstanding return man in college. They could bring him up.

Maybe they will now that Thompson was sent to IR. |
Re: Skins Viks Postgame
Williams should be moved up, and maybe start seeing some playing time at the slot position if the rest of the season goes to shit.
|

I cant remember,I did read he had trouble catching punts but it didnt say anything about kickoffs, and I do think theres a difference. I would love to see Robinson get a try at returning kickoffs and Moss returning punts. Moss is at the stage in his career you shouldnt be worried about him getting hurt. But they should have started earlier this yr,who cares now. On a side note relating to punts,it really bothered me and pissed me off that the skins didnt use D.Green on punts his last season. He was not a valuable piece of the defense anymore and the team certainly wasnt worried about him getting injured,I thought they wasted a golden opportunity not using him. |

Its time now man,the rest of the season is shit.Just because Dallas lost doesnt mean we have a chance. This is not last yrs team,we will suck for the rest of the yr. The only games I see us having a chance at are the home games against Dallas and NY.Road games maybe Atlanta, but that will probably Atl only win for the rest of the season. I see possible upset against KC,3 more wins this season is the max I see us winning. |

Remember how good this defense looked in preseason? I expressed my concerns that defense wasnt tested at all but I was pretty much blown off

Re: Skins Viks Postgame
A pass rush would make this team 100% better. One player who could put pressure on the QB would make this team better immediately. We have 2 good corners who should not be getting burned like they are. Only reason I can think of is they have to cover way too long. First player drafted should be a real without a doubt no questions asked legitimate pass rusher who can put pressure on the QB.
For example if we has LAwrence Taylor we could be in first place with just a little luck. The Skins dont need DB more than they need a damn pass rush. One really good player who could would make an extreme difference in this team. I realize Lawrence Taylor is a once in a lifetime player but someone with serious above average skills at pass rushing should be priority one. |
Re: Skins Viks Postgame
The lack of pass rush is why this has been a sorry, no account team, for decades. It has been a chronic, long term problem.
By the way why was there so much buzz about Jarvis Jenkins his rookie year? Has he even done anything? I don't get it. I agree with the sentiment on this forum, the team would be complete different with just one elite pass rusher on defense. The coverage would be better, and more than likely the linebackers would have an easier time getting further pressure. Of course we all know that won't happen, will draft another Josh 'McRibb' LeRibeus as a third round bust. The competent teams actually get starters out of their third round picks, but not us. |
Re: Skins Viks Postgame
So how bad of beat down will the Eagles put on the Skins this upcoming weekend? With our garbage defense that cannot stop the likes of Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel, Foles stands a good chance to better the record he tied with 7 TD throws. It will be a nightmare to visit my parents in south Delaware, the place is overrun with Eagles fans.
