Good to see these guys are trying to get on the same page. Looking at Garcon's body language and listening to some of his quotes, these two obviously had issues last year. However this pitch and catch stuff is common around the league.

I haven't heard this idea, it's just floating around in my head.
If they were to add a 7th team from each conference for the playoffs, what if the first weekend kicked off with 2 play in games Thursday between the 4th seed (lowest division winner) and the 7th seed. Then Sat/Sun would be the 2nd vs 6 and 3rd vs 5th.

This year that would have resulted in:
Thursday:
(7)Ariz [10-6] at (4)GB [8-7-1]
(7)Pitt[8-8] at (4)Indy[11-5]

Sat/Sun
(6)SD@(2)NE
(5)KC@(3)Cin.
(6)NO@(2)Car
(5)SF@(3)Phi

There probably would be some question over the Thursday night Starts, but if CBS did and Early, say 630, and NFLN did 930, like the first Monday Night game of the season now, I think it would work.

Like I said, I haven't seen it out there, but if they go with 7 teams, the Thursday game would let the teams answer the question of a bad division winner or the next best record.

The NFL has shown they are not afraid to change things up or worried about tradition, examples like eliminating extra points, wanting 18 game schedule, thursday night games etc.
I think the NFL would make 90% or more of worldwide fans{especially USA}if they would move the Superbowl to Sat @5;30 instead of Sunday.Theres 2 weeks to prepare for the SB,so moving it up a day shouldnt have an effect on teams preparation.
My guess is it they feel it would probably impact the host city economically so the owners would never approve moving it.

It should be Saturday Night period. Completely dumb to do Sunday

But I imagine Friday night, and all of Saturday is where the host city makes it's money. Everyone is in, going to pre SB parties, enjoying the city basically spending money while they wait for Sunday's game. Then Sunday everyone moves to the game.

If they held the game Saturday, I think a sizeable portion of people would use Sunday as a travel day, meaning there aren't any day after SB events, just grabbing the next flight out of there.

The Browns are a complete train wreck. Jimmy Haslam seems worse than Dan Snyder when he first took over the Skins. What the hell are those clowns doing in Cleveland.

I have a feeling that Jimmy Haslam is doing some side PR work with pieces like this. He's basically trying to take the heat off himself and say that Banner/Lombardi were forced on him when buying the Browns.

The problem with this shit job is that Lombardi didn't come until a year after he owned the Browns. He also is the one responsible for hiring Chud and allowing him to be fired.

Jimmy is trying to deflect blame so he doesn't get branded as the next Dan Snyder/Jerry Jones.

I talked today to a couple of friends of mine associated with the Browns (in the past and present) and they were both ecstatic about this move. I mean I was surprised how delighted they were. They said Banner was not a football guy at all, and Lombardi was mediocre. They both said this is the best thing that's happened to the team in years

I'm not saying they are bad moves, but firing somebody after one year on the job is moronic. Why even hire them to begin with if you are doubting their ability to begin with.

Hell, any GM that gets a 1st rounder for Trent Richardson is doing alright in my book....lololol

I have a Browns fan friend who is excited about the move. He feels that Banner and Lombardi were the biggest problems all along.

What I don't get is, why now? Why not have completely cleaned house when they let Chud go? Although eliminating Banner and Lombardi may be the right move, the timing leaves the Cleveland FO looking chaotic and dysfunctional.

So much for Incognito's claim that the truth would bury Martin. If anything, it's made Richie look even worse. What a dumbass. Not surprising though considering his entire career even dating back to college.

Yeah, Its embarressing stuff for sure. Incognito is an idiot, someone you dont want on your team. Amazing this is the social norm in that lockerroom. But thats what happened, this behavior became the norm.

Not believing for one second that no one in the organization or the rest of the team didnt hear or know of this behavior. Also not believing the NFL didnt review and make suggestions of the report, delaying it.

Yes, it is normal for older vets to make younger players pay for various things. The part where Martin was not included on the trip might be abnormal.

The big line crosser for me in the report is the racial stuff by Incognito. That should be off limits all the time. But somehow others in the locker room accepted it as normal, that is too much imo. I dont see how just Martin was the only one offended.

According to the Dolphins players going on the trip, Martin was supposed to go but backed out at the last minute. The 15k was to pay for the already paid for plane tickets and hotel room that Martin was supposed to be using. I would imagine that NFL players werent going to stay at a local Holiday Inn, but would get suites at the Casino that can run into the thousands of dollars per night. The other players would have had to pay for Martins share if Martin didnt pay himself.

If what they are saying is true, then this isnt like the rookie dinners that happen on pretty much every team.

It's easy to not be offended if you don't want to be. Martin was probably more susceptible, though, because he was bullied in middle school; and Incognito's bullying brought back the depression he had back then.

Also, NFL players probably have thicker skin than the rest of the population, because they're in this environment from the time they start playing high school football.

Now that we know the true story, I would have no reservations about signing Martin. He would be a huge upgrade over Polumbus.

The Dolphins locker room appears to be unique only in its stupidity, but this is not something we weren't aware of back in October.
