Vick wins that job hands down. He's simply a better QB than Smith. They need to get him some more weapons. The question is can he stay healthy?

skinsfaninok 03-21-2014 09:51 PM

No vick is still way better than sanchez and if he ends up in Cle they r doomed

Re: NFL Free Agents Signings Thread

Vick has always been one of those guys I like to watch in other places. Mainly because my theory is when a team is struggling on offense a scrambling QB can raise your teams floor. Of course if that same QB has trouble throwing like Vick in Atlanta then you can only go so far.

Plus the Jets aren't a bad place for him to get shipped off to because this time if he revives his career he won't be doing it in the NFC East.

Though at present time I think a lot of people have forgotten that Rex Ryan is a hell of a coach. To get that team last year to 8-8 not to mention two consecutive AFC Championship appearances with Mark Sanchez as your QB isn't exactly easy to pull off. Kind of sad that the scandals and the melodramas have taken away from that but it's something that seems to have been lost recently.

skinsfaninok 03-21-2014 10:45 PM

Geno needs another year but I bet vick starts

Vick is definitely an upgrade over Sanchez and Geno. Not that it's saying much being better than two busts.

Vick should win the job, play a handful of games and then get hurt.

Yeah he won't last 5 games. I think the Skins knocked him out of at least two seasons, I know you "shouldn't" like to see anyone hurt but screw it, I loved watching those games with Sheagles fans.

Vick wins that job and I can't imagine him losing out to Smith. He also may have a good year because he is being rejoined with Morningweg who was the coordinator in Philly in '10.

Surely you jest.
Geno Smith should be the starter for the Jets, says this "diehard" Jets fan
I'm a fan of Geno's. He started last year poorly, but he wasn't ready to be the Day 1 starter, and then with the Mark Sanchez cloud hanging over him, he was given too much criticism. Some of it was fair, some of it wasn't. I hope he can develop into a good QB.
Geno Smith should be the starter for the Jets, says this "diehard" Jets fan
I agree. Geno may not turn into anything, but I still like him the most out of the Day 1/Day 2 QB from last year. Thought he dropped too far, and the Jets got good value on him.

How is Tampa going to score next year? They are rolling w McCown and really have no weapons around him and a shaky line. Yikes

They have Vincent Jackson, Mike Williams and Doug Martin. Pretty good weapons to work with.

He would, if he could ever get his head out of his own ass to focus on the team and not be money hungry.

Desean Jackson is the one knucklehead I'd be OK with having. Trust me, can't stand the guy, but he's ALMOST at my threshold of douche. The contract would be totally prohibitive for extending Williams, Kerrigan, etc., but damn would be one hell of a weapon.

It would be and it wouldn't be worth not extending Williams, or Morris, or Kerrigan, or even Griffin.

But an offense that featured:

RGIII
Alfred Morris
Pierre Garcon
DeSean Jackson
and Jordan Reed would give any defense (including Seattle) fits

Love the hashtag though.

We may not need DJax because we may soon have someone like Donte Moncrief or Kelvin Benjamin, although Benjamin can't stretch the field like DJax.
