Haha I remember doing this here in Philly the day after they lost to the Panthers in that NFC Championship game. Some guy called in to vent, and his voice cracked in tears at the end and he abruptly hung up.

I lost my shit and hung out in the car for a good 15 extra minutes before walking into the office.

Back to the Hankerson issue for a minute, how about after signing Djax, we trade Hankerson to the 49er's for there 94th overall in the third round. Any takers? can you imagine the pain and agony from Eagles fans if we got DJax, and a 3rd rounder for Hank. Oh joy. (realistically I would take a 4th or 5th for Hank)

I don't think he has that much value. He can't stay on the field. I like the guy, honestly he can play but he can't finish the season.

I don't think any team would be willing to give more than a 7th, if that. This draft is deep with WRs, teams would be better off drafting one. The salary would be lower than Hank and there would actually be some upside.

Can he really play though? He's had flashes but zero consistency and I don't think it's all because of injury. But yes, sign DJ and shop Hank all we can.

Exactly. His lack of playing time due to him being on the injured list has led to inconsistent play. He won't get any better this year. He's coming off an acl in Nov?! He won't be ready to really go this season.

That being said if he could show some consistency in his health than he could be a productive WR in the league, so yes he can play. He isn't ready to be a #2 yet and has a very good chance of never becoming one. It's a shame he does have some talent.

As far as money goes, isn't he getting $6 million in dead cap from his previous deal with Philly? Maybe that can help structure a deal with a lower cap number this year with escalating numbers for future years. And as always, in DC we have huge potential for marketing / jerseys / etc that he could get money in addition to his contract.

But yes, I'd suspect he's going to want money & multiyear deal.

If McManus says it's done, it's done. I listen to 97.5 all the time here in Philly and he's the one guy at the station who is actually a reputable journalist with real inside sources.

A proven YOUNG probowler. We used to sign the 30+ year olds for their retirement contracts. If we have signed DJax, we get a young and hopefully hungry one. Different than the rest. He's no Archuleta and hopefully not Haynesworth..

A 27 years old three time pro bowler coming off his best season, isn't really the skins of old. The guy would be 32-34, and on the back side.

This guy is in his prime and can be great.
