I say RG3 needs some of this. Let his ass get off his high horse. i just hope he doesnt turn into another REDSKINS big name bust. Thats all..............
Good point. Rg3 needs to trust what he sees and make the throw. Him and the WR need to spend a lil more time getting their timing down. |
Well, considering this is the last year before he goes into his contract year, he's REALLY going to need to give management a reason to sign him to a fat ass long term contract after next season. So he kinda needs to perform well this year.
Still not starting Cousins yet but... God knows if RG3 has the kind of abysmal performance he had last year again... Who knows.
True......True..... |

Oh yes. At least he isn't wrapped up in his own image to the point where he is afraid to make a mistake and when he does he won't condescendingly tweet at us. I have lost all faith in RG3's ability to be a great QB in the NFL. I don't believe he is mature or intelligent enough to succeed in the NFL. |

This. I think RGIII needs to let go of the social media and take notes from Andrew Luck. Not sure but I don't think you see Luck splashed on TV and social media, nor is he concerned about his doubters or haters. The fact that RGIII is even responding to the shit tells me it's bothering him. He has all the time in the world to engage the fans/public once he's established. Until that point, he needs to shut up and handle business. |

Basically that Kirk has played much better and if the QB position was an open competition that you couldn't give a good reason to play RG3. Other than the fact the Skins paid so much for him. |

But he was under a completely different type of system that year. He's showing to be sucky outside of the QB read playbook. Then with his knee injury, it seems he's seems to have lost some speed. Playing in the pocket he looks like a deer in headlights; either having happy feet, ready to roll out and telegraphing his throws to his first WR. Yeah I know it's pre-season and shit, and there's the total possibility he turns it all around during the regular season... And I really hope he does. But I feel like he really hasn't given us any indication this pre-season that he hasn't regressed over the past 2 years. He was 5/8 for 20 yards and an INT. The Heisman Trophy winner... In his 3rd year of action. So sue me for being a little frightened. |

I can't panic yet because a) This is still pre-season and I hope that they're just playing patty cake right now and saving the real deal for the regular season b) I still have faith that this team COULD turn it around during the regular season and at least be 8-8 c) I really do like RG3, he's a decent guy and I do want to see him flourish in the NFL. He's got the skills, but it seems like he goes herp derp during game time. |

He will be here for a statue they are going present him. He is so loved here. All i know is, I care for the skins more than him. On the same note I'm going to try to get off work and get a signed football. WOO...WOO... In other words he should stop being an ass kisser, but he needs to be more of an ass kicker....PERIOD |

Can anyone honestly say that Kirk doesn't just look better than RG3?

Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
I have said this in the past and I will say this again...RG3 ain't real. He is fraud through and through. Until he becomes genuine and stops pretending there isn't a problem with him and his play he will never succeed.
You only learn from failure not from success or adversary. I don't believe RG3 has ever or will ever see any of his failures as failures. |
Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
RG3 just isn't comfortable right now. We know Gruden isn't really play calling, so let's hope in the real game he gets RG3 with some easy to read plays.
I remember when RG3 was having all of his success John Kiem would breakdown the film and talk about how he didn't know how to throw a receiver open and would hesitate a lot. We are still seeing that now. |
Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
Griffin had a bad night but I'll hit the panic button week one. He still has issues getting the ball out on time. Plus he ran out of bounds TWICE and lost yardage for no reason. Total lack of awareness. The pass to Morris was atrocious. He looked at him the entire time while he was covered and still threw it. I think Gruden had seen enough and put Cousins in. Cousins does what he always does, gets it out on time, throws some beautiful balls and will always throw one or two that make you shake your head. We're going to see Cousins at some point this year. Trust me on that.
|
Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
I would also say that I'm very concerned about Houston. How are we going to block Watt and Clowney? I really hope Gruden keeps in some blockers so we have some protection.
|
Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
RGIII had a dream 1st season till he got hurt, then he was rushed back and he hasn't been the same since. I would say it's a mental thing that he is afraid to get hurt again and needs to get over it. Right now Cousins is the better QB and gives the Redskins a better chance to win.

Hard to argue with that. |
Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
I'm waiting to see this press conference with Rob. If he acts like I think he will, I'm on the Kirk train.
We all know Kirk is no world beater. The guy is middle of the road but can get the ball out quick and (usually) gets it to the right spots at the right time. This is a traditional, pocket passer led offense. Rob looks awful right now. He has no more time to get it together but we need to let him play out the year and see if it's even possible for him to be serviceable but as of this moment, he is just flat out terrible. That passing performance was unreal and with 3 corners out and against 2nd string on the last drive, inexcusable. |
Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
I know it's preseason, but that's what worries me. If you can't execute basic plays against vanilla defenses by the 3rd game, that bodes poorly for week one vs what I expect to be a nasty pass rush. I truly hope it's growing pains, but I'm less than confident right now. I hope I'm wrong.
That said, I've been impressed with the defense. They've played well, and Keenan Robinson, provided he stays healthy, may give us some athleticism and range at our MLB position we haven't had with Fletcher for a while. In good news, we get to use the 1st round pick we earn this season. |

Well i really hope things turn around within 2 weeks.

Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
RG3 looked like crap...blame it on the line all you want...but a few completions would have backed them off.
In a pass offense, you pass first to back off the defense so you can run...but this assumes you can connect on some throws. On another note...it just could be that the coach wanted him to function as a traditional pocket passer to see where he is in his development. Obviously he has miles to go....but didn't you notice?...no screens?, no rollouts? No moving pocket? I sure hope that was by design..because we sure will need that + misdirection during the seaons. If this is true...that is fine...but it means the Skins have had very little practice at this. The Skins offense CAN NOT be a traditional smash mouth, pocket passing offense...it must involve a lot of motion and misdirection. We have learned we have a poor short yardage running power game...and poor pocket passing capability. Our oline is built to move around. We heard that we werent changing our run offense...well..I saw basics today. Bottom line, Skins offense doesn't do basics well enough...we dont have the talent to go toe to toe....therefore, we need to outscheme the defense and play to Roberts strengths...which will restrict his ability to develop as a pocket passer. Say what you want about Shanny Jr...but the guy got the most out of RG3 and Morris...he would kick butt with the new toys this year. I just haven't seen any innovation from our new coach yet...in fact...it seems far more basic. On another note...I love our front 7. But we need to watch the waver wire for punters and Oline. Wonder if we could get 2 #1's for Rg3? at this point...I may take it, hes shown no growth this offseason at all I'd be fine with a humble average QB that scores |
Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
Think back to how we looked in pre season 2 years ago, by design, very very vanilla and not alot to be soooo poud of... but uts preseason, bring on houston.

Cousins didn't look that good, your exaggerating. Cousins gets the ball out of his hands but he keeps missing open receivers. It's always low |
Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
that oline was hurrendous tonite. and griff was very dialed back after last week. he could have bursted after the one stiff arm play. i saw him make one full speed burst all game. i havent been happy with Morris but hes a Vision/Power back and its safe to say there was no hole to see. from trent over its rugged it really is.
