Who's to say it's too early though?
If things go right for us in the NFC East, It might not be too late, either. |
Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
All we need is Snyder to be inspired by Doctor Jerry Jones and giving his medical opinion that RG3 plays this weekend. IMO it stinks.
I would like to hear Jay Gruden honest opinion about who should start this weekend. He is the HC and should be making the final decision. Wouldnt the doctor say its too early? |
Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
I dont care if it is too early or not. We have a bye and two winnable games. Let him come back after that. Than even if he gets hurt nobody can say he was rushed back. However the fan in me is really excited to see him play.

Still think he needs to be 100%, like Jay said. I think Colt can be just as effective if RG3 is less than 100%. We've seen how medically cleared has gone in the past.. |

I was thinking it was too early based on Gruden's assessment that RG3 isn't really "NFL ready", for lack of a better term. And RG3 could spend the extra 2 weeks prepping. But obviously we can't bench the guy forever. If he's ready to play, we need to play him. |
Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
We have Dr. James Andrews....ON our staff. Is there.....ANY possible way on this earth that his physical condition could be in question?

Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
winning this game has me all ginned up for the rest of the season :)

Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
The timing doesn't seem outrageously off. I just wish it wasn't in question who was making the decision.

Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
Just OK is an improvement. There were no free runs at our QB by Compton's man, as far as I could tell. I also saw him make a nice block to seal off the pursuit on Alfred's longest run of the game.
The primary concept here, for me, is that poor play must not be tolerated. If a starter is not getting the job done, give the next man a chance. The backup might surprise by doing a better job. In this case, Polumbus didn't perform well, Gruden replaced him, and things got a little better at RT. Compton may not be "the answer" but he looks to be better option than Polumbus or Moses at this time. I'm very pleased that Gruden made this change.
That seems to be happening. Kearse is getting snaps because he is playing well, not because he is someone's guy. Very encouraging compared to last year. |
I recall someone calling him a camp fodder type of guy.
Ridiculous.
That would be me, but not sure I recall saying cut him. I believe I did call him camp fodder, but that was at the beginning of camp. :Flush:
If Gruden had his way, RG3 would not take the field again this year Let's run through each QB and the 3 key decision makers Cousins Gruden: So so on him as a person, thought he'd be the perfect QB to execute his offense for this year. Knows ceiling is limited though
So is there something about KC's personality that Gruden is "so-so" on him as a person? Thanks for the scoop by the way.
As you said at one point SS, it's disconcerting that RGIII works as hard as he does, is as talented as he is athletically, and, yet (according to Gruden), he is still not capable of running a straight-up pro offense. Is it that he has to unlearn bad habits? Is he incapable of anticipating/trusting receivers? Does he not have pocket sense? Unilke reading D's - which is a learnable skill, is RGIII lacking one of the innate unteachable skills necessary for a QB?.
You probably won't find a better prospect at the QB position than Robert. His problem is that he was tutored in a spread offense in college. That means he's a whole 4 years behind the likes of Cousins, Luck, etc and any other QB coming from a pro-style college. It's a lot to ask for any individual which is why I generally do no want these types of QBs in a pro-style in the NFL. He has 10 times the type of talent that Cousins has, but the offense ran smoother when Cousins was at the helm. (minus the TOs) Guys like Robert, Cam, and other QBs coming from these types of college offenses are projects and they should be treated as such. By making them learn the game from the sideline until they can show that they can master it. That said, most teams/owners/fans are too impatient to allow that to happen. They expect the guy drafted in the top 10 to play immediately. Gone are the days where the top picks sat on the bench first. (palmer/rivers/eli/rodgers/etc) |
Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
BTW screw Romo and his effort to hurt Keenan Robinson's knee with the small of his back. In all seriousness, I am glad he came back in so no excuses from Cowboys fans. I don't like Romo but I don't like seeing guys get hurt. I have heard some Cowboys fans trashing his insistence on going back in. Of course, had he not done so and they lost, they'd have used that as an excuse. Let's hope this is the beginning of the end for them. Go Cardinals!

Re: Redskins Cowboys post game
Have to admit have enjoyed the week of euphoria, after the Skins do the completely unexpected and beat the Cowboys on Monday Night Football. What a glorious week, too bad it all ends tomorrow, would like to stay positive about things. However, I really think it is a mistake to put McCoy on the bench and start Griffin. I know they say he is 100%, but I don't see what the issue with waiting one more week would be. Hopefully, Griffin has a good game, and the run some <gasp> read option.

They already did that... he could have played against Dallas. |
