Kellen Moore (back up to Tony Romo) suffered a broken fibula in practice, might miss the whole season.
this is actually bad because now the Cowboys will most likely pick up a competent back up QB. Moore in terms of capable back-up was one of the worst in the league...Foles would be an upgrade but they will have to move some salary around because their cap situation is atrocious.
I routinely sat next to a guy who was on his last year of eligibility and was the 3rd string WR. We're talking one day and he tells me he has a plate in his wrist that restricts its mobility. In the next breath, he tells me how he's training hard for the draft and his agent thinks he could go in the 9th or 10th round; he was certain that, once he got drafted, he would be in the NFL for life b/c his coaches kept telling him he was just a victim of the numbers game at UMCP.

I just remember thinking - "3rd string WR from a sometimes top 20 school with a plate in your wrist. Oh yeah, that's spells perennial All-Pro." Guy was nice enough but dumber than a brick.
A shame, but a lot of them have that very mindset.

one thing Dallas needed more than anything in the offseason was to acquire a legitimate back up QB for Romo...everyone saw it last year. Kellen Moore is flat out garbage.

I cant believe how damn stupid Jerry is...

Yeah but he probably would have a better chance of starting in Dallas, than in KC. Then again, Dallas was a shit show without Romo, so maybe he doesn't want to deal with any of that.

Foles isn't going to take any team over the top ever. He was probably the biggest shit show in the league last year at that position.

True.

I think RGIII was gifted with the perfect body to be a great decathlete. We should be watching him compete in the upcoming Olympics. Instead, we'll probably see him him struggle in the NFL until he suffers another serious injury. What has happened to him in the NFL is sad for him and for all of us who have rooted for him. He is an exceptional athlete but he's just not a fit for the sport of football at it's highest level.

Smart on his part. Playing for Dallas means he would almost be guaranteed to play and potentially be tasked with wining them some meaningful games. In KC he's got Alex Smith (IronMan at QB) playing ahead of him in a Quarterback friendly system. With a better Defense. And better head coach. and not playing in Dallas.

Win all across the board for Foles.

Loss for the Chiefs though. He's terrible.

He signed in KC because of his past success in Andy Reid'so system. After the failure with Rams he wants to be back with Reid. Cannot blame him for that.

The Pro Football Focus Team weighed in on RG3's performance in camp thus far.

It's looking good for Griffin. PFF says he still has the same weaknesses he had here: he runs and panics if the first read is covered and doesn't make it through his progressions.

Luckily, the offensive system in the Cleve accounts for this and the routes are designed to become open later in the play while Griffin is on the run.

Seems to be looking up.

McVay and Gruden really should have accounted for that in the Detroit preseason game last year.

It is nobody but Trent Richardson's fault. He has to be responsible for taking care of his finances. Marshawn Lynch on the other hand never spent a dollar of his salary. He lived off of his endorsement deals money and never touched his Seahawks pay checks, which is why he was able to retire early with millions in the bank.

I agree with Punch but if Hue Jack has designed a system that will minimize RG3's weaknesses I won't be angry if RG3 bounces back this year. As long as we shut him down I'm happy. I'm honestly more upset about AlfMo leaving us than I am about RG3. Both had excellent rookie seasons and then slow downward spirals after that. Difference is we paid more for one.

If any team can game plan for him, it's us. Good for him if he succeeds, I'm still a fan. But at the same time I doubt he will stay healthy.

This is what I am really afraid of. We know how good RG3 was when he was in an offense tailor made around him before that terrible knee injury. He could come out here and look like an all pro, absolutely shredding our defense with his arm and his legs.... And i would hate to be on here if that happens, because alot of people might come out of the woodwork and say "Oh we should have kept him, he didn't get a fair chance" blah blah blah

I think the real miracle would be RG3 looking like 2012-ROTY RG3 after all those injuries. He hasn't looked the same in three seasons. Even when he ran his speed was noticeably slower. If he does that's great for him, but I don't care . I'm putting 2/1 odds that our qb of the future is already on the roster, so if this season passes and Kirk gets that long term deal I will care about RG3 even less than I do now.

Just to add defenses caught up with the read option a long time ago. And they now know that if you pressure him and get him off his first read he's going to struggle. I think we'll see more of that this year until he's hurt or benched.
