Re: Skins v. Lions Gameday Thread
Kelly should be the starter. He's obviously better but these coaches are totally incompetent.
|
Re: Skins v. Lions Gameday Thread
Cousins picked a bad time for one of his worst throws of the season. Could've had the ball at close to the 50 with enough time for another play and call a timeout.
Hopkins picked a bad game for his worst kick of the season. Jones picked a bad game to well, be Matt Jones. The whole team picked a bad game to struggle to just hand the ball off. And we still had the lead with a minute left. We hung in there despite playing awful, that's the sign of a good team. The sign of a great team is still winning. We're still building. Still have a chance to be 5-3 at the bye, that's a playoff pace. Please please be ok Trent!! |

Totally incompetent doesnt get you to 4-3. Lol |
Re: Skins v. Lions Gameday Thread
I think after jones second fumble, kelly should have been getting the bulk of the work.
No idea what Barry had going on that last minute. Middle of the field was wide open and det had 3 timeouts... Disappointing. Not the end of the world though. Saw djax pull off a play late too where it looked like he would have been hit. On the plus side, our offense showed resilience on our last possesion. Exactly what I want to see from them. |
Re: Skins v. Lions Gameday Thread
Just not hungry enough today, that's really the bottom line.

Skins v. Lions Gameday Thread
Anyone else feel kirk should have stopped at the 1 to run time off?
Sent from my S6 Edge
Is this a real question? Because first and goal at the one doesn't automatically equal 7. To bring that up instead of the doinked fg, terrible fumble, terrible play of Breeland, or Grants disastrous game is sooooo strange. |

We have the worst defensive coordinator in NFL history. The past drive proved that. The OC is just as bad. He decided to start Matt Jones over Robert Kelly. |

Matt Jones ran for 140 yards last week, and our D has been lights out...we turned it over on first and goal and missed an easy fg. End of story. |
Re: Skins v. Lions Gameday Thread
Yes. Stafford with a minute is too long but would have been risky for kc. I am curious how people would have reacted. We still had timeouts. I'm not faulting Kirk just curious what people think.

He missed a wide open Crowder on a play your average qb should hit. Just face reality, the man is mediocre at best. I give up on this team. Steven A Smith was right.

Sent from my S6 Edge
I did think about it, but the way we were fumbling that scared me too. Our defense had played well, just needed 1 last stand they couldn't get. We win next week this loss is wiped away. We lose and it lingers. Big difference between 5-3 and 4-4, especially since our division is looking strong. |

Re: Skins v. Lions Gameday Thread
These games happen, besides week 1 we were in all of our other games and have won 4 of them. That's a great sign
I think everyone knew going into this year that we are still missing a few pieces. I think next year is when this team will really start taking off. |

Re: Skins v. Lions Gameday Thread
Anyone else feel kirk should have stopped at the 1 to run time off?
Sent from my S6 Edge
No. You have to score there and have some confidence that your defense won't allow a 75 yard drive in a minute. What Gruden should have done was have Hopkins kick it to around the goaline or just short of it and forced a return. That way you might blow a few more seconds off the clock and maybe get a tackle before the 20. He also should have gotten in Barry's ear and told him to send pressure. |

Then root for someone else. You are perhaps the most negative fan on here. Week after week complaining about the same shit and most of it makes no sense to what actually happened in the game. |

And you are a fair-weather fan who should root for someone else. Also stop posting drunk. If you are not drunk than you have no excuse for your ignorance. |
Re: Skins v. Lions Gameday Thread
Cousins had to score. You can't choose NOT to score a TD when down 3 with a minute left just because you want to take time off the clock. If he goes out of bounds at the one, a sack or a holding penalty pushes the team back ten yard and then suddenly you're left kicking a field goal.

Re: Skins v. Lions Gameday Thread
Our margin of error is to small to survive so many mistakes. Oh well, on to the next one.

You might be satisfied with mediocrity, but I'm not. This team finds ways to lose or find a way to keep teams close. Matt the fumbler Jones gave away the game. Kirk weak arm Cousins under threw a ball that might could have gave us a chance. Gruden is below average head coach with no vision. McVay needs to be working at McDonalds, not coaching our offense. These defense is just horrible. Without Norman we have no chance if stopping anyone. |

Im not sure which is worse. The loss or your rants? No actually I am sure...it's your rants,... |

There should be 2 game threads, one where the crazies can go rant their hysteria and ignorance and one for the rest of us.

I think the reason this stings is that we really could and should have won even with the mistakes. But let's be honest - we could easily have lost some games we have won in the last few weeks too. We are a decent team - but it means that some weeks, the breaks won't go our way and we lose, whereas other weeks they do and we win. But the good teams are sufficiently better than their opponents to not have to rely on breaks here and there. We just aren't consistently there yet, although we certainly show flashes. Let's see how they respond next week. No flat start will be excusable. They need to come out angry and just keep at it for 60 minutes. They're talented enough to beat the Bengals. But nothing short of their best effort is likely to achieve that result. The injuries today were really concerning - Trent, Scherff, Norman, Breeland for a while - that's a lot of talent with a real drop off afterwards (with the possible exception of breeland) for a team with little margin for error. On Jones v Kelly, I get the impression that Jones has taken his starting role for granted - once we got rid of Alfmo, he seems less hungry. Kelly on the other hand looks like he is dying to see the field and runs like he is running for freedom. Love to see that effort. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
