Re: Redskins Mock Draft
While getting a QB we want at 15 would bring much needed energy to the fan base, I think equally would be getting the top pass rushing threat in the draft. There is a chance that could happened.
The way things are lining up right now,: Pass Rusher, QB, and now I believe Guard is in play at 15. I think quietly we are looking hard at WR Marquise Brown. I think he is def in play at 15. The way we are handling Guard and let Crowder go have impacted how we act in the draft. The most deflating pick at 15 would be Nate Jones...this is my fear. |

Yes, drafting a credit administrator I worked with would be very Bruce. Daniel Jones.. |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft
I'd hate Jones at 15 too. I'd rather just go with BPA there and take Grier later in that case.

I think there are some solid project QB in the draft. K Murray looks to be the choice in the right system...Haskins and Lock are good but both have a lot of risk. Rosen is my choice with our 2nd round pick this year and maybe a pick swap next year ie our 4th for Cards 5th. |

Agreed....I don't like Lock, Haskins, or Jones in the first round....I would rather draft an edge rusher at 15 or a WR.....we can pull the trigger on a QB in the 2nd or 3rd rd.....namely Rypien or Grier... |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft
In today's unrealistic mock, Haskins slips to 15 and causes the Skins to go Ohio State for three rounds in a row.
Round 1 Pick 15: Haskins, Dwayne, QB, Ohio State (A+) Round 2 Pick 14: Campbell, Parris, WR, Ohio State (A) Round 3 Pick 12: Prince, Isaiah, OT, Ohio State (A+) Round 3 Pick 32 (COMP): Miller, Christian, OLB, Alabama (A+) Round 5 Pick 15: Samia, Dru, OG, Oklahoma (A+) Round 5 Pick 35 (COMP): Granderson, Carl, DE, Wyoming (A+) Round 6 Pick 33 (COMP): Smith , Saivion, CB, Alabama (A+) Round 7 Pick 13: Love, Bryce, RB, Stanford (A+) Round 7 Pick 39 (COMP): Dixon, DCota, SS, Wisconsin (A+) |

This article makes several assumptions but is really interesting Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
Trading down makes a lot of sense. If a great player slips to 15 take him, otherwise trade back. The Redskins need help at virtually every position and they have cap problems. It is time cut/trade overpaid vets and begin a two year rebuilding plan. |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft
I like the article and it makes a lot of sense. I agree whatever happens don't trade up. And if there isn't a player the Skins really need at #15, take a good deal to move back. But if BPA is a team need then draft the guy rather than trade back for value. Teams need to build around 2-3 blue chip players to create the right chemistry and elevate the play of the guys around them. If you end up with a roster full of good but not great players, you end up with mediocrity; who do the up and coming players look/play up to, to make themselves better.
I say that given our cap and QB situation, we don't draft a QB at 15, we grab a clear standout WR or the best OL available, then look at trading down our 2nd pick if there's no clear selection at 46. Then pick up a QB in round 3 as a longer term backup with a view to the ultimate starter (hopefully franchise) QB being in next years draft. If we pick up a standout WR then Doctson et al will only benefit this year, and moreso next year, if only because they take some of the attention off the #2 & #3 WR. If we pick up a standout OL, then you have another TW ready to step up as he fades (Scherff is potential multiple PB material, but I don't see him taking a real leadership role so far). Ultimately, every NFL roster is the best that college has produced, but you need some 'best of the best' guys always around no matter how good your coaching is. I think they only guys we have that fit that mould on the current roster are Kerrigan and Williams (on the basis Smith is out this year and likely gone altogether, and only just fit in the same bracket anyway). Maybe guys like Allen, Payne, Guice etc. will step up in the next year or so. But I say get a guy that can lead his positional unit from the front, if not the whole team. For that, you have to pick someone at 15. Trade back and you may well get 2-3 roster spots filled with good players, but you won't improve the team a hell of a lot over drafting the right guy in the 1st round. |

2019 Draft Ranking position groups stronges to weakest.
Interior Offensive Line #3 strongest group. Jonah Williams is my dream pick, put him at LG. Blue chip, day one starter, future pro bowler. The stars might align. But our FO will draft a WR or some shit. I would love any of the top 4 or 5 WR's at 46. Does anyone else buy the draft guide magazines? They're perfect for me, with no service in the waiting room at the doctor's office. My pregnant wife is in her third trimester so we're there often. |

True. On the other hand, that made my entire draft. I knew I should take him at #15 but I was thinking I could get Grier a little later, so I took a top corner instead. WTH, it's fun doing these simulated drafts. |

Thought?
If they throw in another player or a pick (i.e., 3rd round) along with Rosen, I might accept it. Still, it would be tough for me.. I suppose it all depends on how much Gruden and FO like Rosen. If they truly believe Rosen will become our long-term QB then go for it. |
