Re: The Haskins Threat
Has he though? He has 8 sacks with 4.5 coming in the first 3 games (3 in week 3 vs denver). 70.6 PFF grade.
Is he worth 4yr/52M? GB can get out of the contract in 2021 but they would have committed 27.5M for 2 years (this includes 8M in dead cap). I have watched like 3 GB games and I saw the Denver game and he was disruptive .. other games he was not. Certainly compared to Kerrigan (3 sacks, 56.7 PFF, cap hit of 11M), Id rather pay Preston but that ship has sailed ... should have traded Kerrigan and resigned Preston ... or trade Kerrigan and let Preston walk. Preston is like a B player for me, above average but has to be right player, right price imo. I think signing Landon Collins negated Preston's 3R comp pick to us?
8 sacks through 9 games? Yeah seems worth it to me |
Re: The Haskins Threat
Haskins showed poise in his first career start and moved well, I think he'll be fine going forward

Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

Tickets are being sold for less than face value on the secondary markets.
I was just making a comment about how bad it is, nothing on you. It just reminded me of going to Ram games at Anaheim stadium the last couple years they were there. Doing it on the cheap we would park in an industrial complex that was empty on weekends and walk a half mile. There would be people lining the edge of the stadium parking lot "scalping" tickets for way less than face value. The only games that drew a real crowd were when the 49ers would come to town. The teams that had a USA wide fan base like the Packers would get almost a half full stadium. Playing a team like the New Orleans Saints might not crack 10,000 fans. On most games the ushers didn't check tickets unless someone complained. You could pay $5 for a nosebleed seat and go sit on the 50 yard line at field level. |

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
All Skins fans have a million reasons to be jaded. Haskins shouldn't be one of them. Haskins needs to be given every chance to be successful. He is the most physically talented QB we've had in my lifetime. |
Re: The Haskins Thread
All the reasons not to play Haskins once the season was lost were ridiculous. He needs the experience and we need to see how he plays and progresses.
If he progresses normally we can draft Chase Young, the best defensive player in the draft. He can take over for Kerrigan and our DL, with a proper DC, will be something opposing QB will fear. Chase is such a transitional player that he can attract a really good Defensive Coordinator to come here, with a big fat guaranteed paycheck from Snyder. With a really good DC to replace Manusky, a couple decent defensive draft picks and FAs or even a lucky UDFA, this defense could significantly improve from the bottom to AT LEAST the middle ranks in one season. This defense would improve immediately with a monster superstar Edge rusher like Young. We need a superb player like that to help turn this team around, at least on defense! Big Burrow guy but he couldn't beat out Haskins and is why he transferred, also 1 year is not enough time to give up on Dwayne, he will be fine |

I want Haskins to have a chance and show what he’s got, can’t give up on him so early. If he doesn’t show he’s capable, then we need a replacement like Burrow. The same can be said when Tom Brady was in Michigan, Brian Griese won the QB job, but who got the last laugh in the NFL? |

It was a real close competition. Also one guy may be a better college player and one may be a better pro player. I think w/ DH it's really got to come down to the last half of the season. If he plays poorly and shows nothing they can't go into the draft and not think about taking a QB w/ that 1st pick. However I doubt they'd do it simply cause they don't have the balls to admit failure. |
Re: The Haskins Threat
Per Keim, Haskins will start for rest of the season. Finally, now we will get to see what Haskins can do! I expect to see good improvements by Haskins at ending of the season.

I don't see it happening with Callahan but anything can happen. |
Re: The Haskins Threat
Problem is if we start winning folks will bitch about winning meaningless games and screw our draft order..with this team it’s a literal “no win situation “ 😀

Guilty as charged. When scoreboard watching on Sunday I have been more into following the bottom feeders and rooting for them to win. The Redskins would hold the #2 spot as the only remaining one win team if the season ended today. The damn Bengals are win less and seemingly getting worse. |

The Haskins Threat
But Ill be at the game Sunday hoping for his breakout performance!

Unless the way business is done at major league sports stadiums has changed from a couple decades ago not patronizing the concession stands hurts the operators and employees of those businesses mostly and not the stadium owner. My mother worked in city hall in the city of Anaheim from the mid 70's to the late 90's. The California Angels had played their since 1966 to present and the Los Angeles Rams from 1980-1994. The city owned the stadium and most of the money made off the concessions were from leasing space. Most of the leases were 5-10 years. That is where most of the money came from, not the 2-5% the city took from gross sales depending on the item. Unfortunately Snyder's bottom line isn't effected much by those that don't indulge in beer, soda and hotdogs. |

Seriously? What do you get for $25? I haven't been to an NFL game in 25 years, recently been to Nascar and the beers are $8 for a 16 oz can of Bud or Coors. |

Oh I don’t know if its 25. Recently went to great adventure with my daughter. So she took off with her friends and me and the wife got two Octoberfest and it was almost 30 dollars. Im sure the non domestic beers at the stadium have to be like 15 bucks. |

Btw 16 ounce miller lights were 14 dollars. Lol |
Re: The Haskins Threat
Haskins best quarter was the 4th quarter.
Moses said the video clip of Haskins asking the O line "what can I do to help you get better" was not Haskins chewing them out. He said Haskins is young. But that clip was cringeworthy. Did Haskins take a shot at the play calling post game? If so ... less of that please. Too soon to get into the "Tom Brady and Aaron Rogers wouldnt be good on this team" deja vu. |
