Ok Ok fine he was not a bum that yr lol no I'm just a mad fan bro
lol I got ya OK .. we could use a TC right now.

Heinike .. I think Turner needs to change things up this week. He is not going to be a TC type who can quick pass it to primary reads.

like skinsfan69 said .. we need to roll TH out, do designed run plays, more RPO, cater to his strengths.

TH had 0 runs Sunday.

Im not really blaming Turner for the past few games but I will moving forward. he knows what he and what he doesnt have with TH. Time to put on your thinking cap and find out a way to make this work.

Turner's philosophies and wishes dont match up with TH strengths.

TH cant change.

Turner has to.

Anyone believe the season would be going better with Fitz? I’d say it would be but the complete no show by defense is t he bigger problem IMO

We'd need a top gun like Rodgers to overcome this terrible defense.

Maybe. While the offense didn't look great with Fitz at the helm to begin the season, to be fair, he only had three series before he was injured. Two of those three series did result in points. It's all speculation, with regard to whether things would be going better with Fitz. But the defense - most definitely the back seven - is the reason this team has four losses (which could easily be 6).

So is the "you build the trenches first" approach outdated?

Seems like it .. to a degree.

Teams are getting the ball out quicker and quicker. Weve seen our O line change various personnel over the past few years but I dont see any appreciable drop off from Schweitzer to Scherff. Schweitzer and Lucas had great PFF grades Sunday.

Its a great Question and I think yes it's outdated. I believe if you have a true QB1 he can make a bad line better. Also CB over DE as well, it's a proven case with our team.

When you have no options left in the NFL WFT is the last stop.

Bring him in for a visit, have the locker room ready with massage tables set up all over…have the tuggers lined up out the door and let’s get this deal done

Send him home sore and ready to go

TH is a nice story, he's definitely shown he belongs in the NFL, just not as a starter. His lack of arm strength and inaccuracy at times are proving to be significant limitations.
Sounds like a HC who doesnt like the film he is seeing of his QB not seeing and throwing guys who are open down field.

The TV feed its hard to tell .. but most film breakdowns show TH is just not seeing and throwing to open guys down field. he holds, clutches then its check down or scramble.

When he does throw it down field, it seems like pre nsap he told himself he was going to throw it to receiver X no matter what.

If Heinike doesnt distribute the ball, holds it too much .. hes not starting the second half. Hes starting to get to the end of his rope.

Before the season I would have bet the farm and all the picks in the world for:

- Wilson
- Rodgers
- Watson (pre-tugging)

I would have also made Dak the highest paid QB ever if Jerry would have been dumb enough to let him walk.

I like Heinicke - as a solid #2, but I wouldn't categorize any of his performances so far as flawless, or close to flawless. He definitely gives this team a chance. Can't say the same for the D.

This. It’s why a re-draft after hindsight of the first season , you draft Herbert over CY.

All players and picks on the table for Watson…Terry, CY, Payne, Sweat, Allen. Those are the top players on the team…mix and match any of them with future picks and get it done

Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke

In the second half, Washington needed full-tilt Heinicke as the defense faltered against Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. But the offense couldn’t manage much against one of the league’s worst defenses; none of its four full drives lasted longer than seven plays or 32 yards. The unit’s woes weren’t on Heinicke alone — it’s without key players, and there is blame to go around — but his play stood out. He missed open throws, couldn’t find running lanes and didn’t push the ball downfield, throwing 13 of 15 passes under 10 yards in the air.

On Sunday, Rivera said, Heinicke was uneven. One of his biggest problems was an inability to hit passes deeper than 10 yards. Heinicke doesn’t need to throw long to win — his 8.2 air yards per attempt are league average — but he finished 2 for 11 on attempts longer than 10 air yards, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. The struggles became glaring against a reeling Chiefs defense that didn’t generate consistent pressure.

Washington had a plan to beat Kansas City deep. Heinicke said he could hold the safety in the middle of the field with a pump fake and then target outside, but each time he did, something went wrong. Once, wide receiver Dyami Brown couldn’t reel in a tough catch near the goal line; another time, Heinicke overthrew wideout Terry McLaurin. The misses and check-downs led to an average of 1.7 air yards per completion, the shortest distance for any quarterback in a game this season.

You don’t think he was awesome in that playoff game last year? I know it is only one game but he has still only started what 6 games including last year. He played good in three this year, and bad in three. Terrible actually. Anyway my confidence in him is waning week to week. I just cannot help wondering if good coaching would help his cause. He didn't lose the playoff game (that was the defense again/still), but I wouldn't say he was awesome. 59% completion percentage, 78 QBR, 1 TD / 1 INT, ran for a TD. Pretty good... Actually good enough if the defense had not given up over 500 yards...

He has probably played good more than he's played bad. I am just not as enamored with him as others are.

The defense was top 5 last year, but it was a top 5 defense built on a house of cards. They just got exposed for what they truly were in that game, and what they still are to this day.

Stays do not always tell the story. Heineke balled the fuck out in that game. Kept play’s alive. And that was a fucking great defense he was playing. Believe this thread which is named Taylor effin Heineke was born from that game.
He was the only one who showed up for that game. We can call him a backup going forward no doubt. Call him limited in ability. But give the man that playoff game. Lol. He was awesome.

100% correct. WFT needs to keep doing whatever is needed to get a big time QB. Whether that's via trade or draft, keep trying no matter what the cost until there's success. Once they get the QB the other pieces can easily/quickly be put in place.

No I dont think he is a stud. Lol. Far from it. That was my point. Studs like McLaurin do not need the coaching like a guy like Heineke does. Guys like Heineke are why coaches are important. When i said “others” I didn’t mean other studs. I literally meant others that aren’t studs.

I also agree that Quarterback is the most important position. However on this current team with this current coaching staff a stud quarterback isn’t transforming us into contenders. We also need a new staff and several other pieces. What quarterback is over coming this defense-the worst in the league?

We need a quarterback- NO DOUBT- but we also need a staff, a handful of players on defense, and a halfway decent kicker if we are going to contend.

I think the pieces are there, we just don't have the QB to take advantage of those pieces, and we need them to be healthy too (Logan, Samuel)

Terry is a #1 WR but he's not a guy that can really dominate without a good passer. There are only a few guy that can do that.. DHOP , Julio (of 3 years ago) AB in his prime Etc.

Terry is like a Marvin Harrison, he could be LETHAL with a great QB. Sadly for him, 3 years in the league and he has had JAGs.

Nobody is taking away how he played in that game, a game we still lost by the way. Some people seem to hang on to that game like we won the SB or something. Very weird, but I guess when you're a bottom feeder of a team like this one fans are going to hold onto anything they can.

Also strikes me odd that some seem to be holding on to this idea TH can be more than he is with better coaching. Could he be better if we dug up Bill Walsh and Vince Lombardi? Yeah maybe a little I guess. In all likelihood though his limitations aren't going to allow him to be anything more than we've already seen.

At worst the guy has shown he belongs in the league as a backup, and he can carve out a nice career for himself for the next few years probably.

We should enjoy Terry while we have him, because when he's ready to be a FA we'll probably botch that and by then he'll be sick of this place anyway.
