For those who haven't clicked the link, basically there's a convention (actually called the Paris Convention, cocorico !) that allows you to file a trademark in any of 178 countries and still have priority at the first application date if you file in another country within 6 months.
And some of these countries don't allow online search.

So it's a near certainty that somewhere in a tiny unknown country lies the trademark to the next name of this franchise.

Doesn't give us any intel concerning this case, but quite fascinating IMO.

This organization is so inept they'll fuck up a cup of coffee. The Today Show in NY? That is so far off of what this should be. It should be announced here in DC inside the city, w/ DC fans and DC media and a celebration if you can call it that. I don't but you get it.

Who's dumb idea was it to do something so stupid and go to NY and announce this? I just don't understand the NY thing at all. Are we a NY team w/ NY fans or something? Today skews mainly to middle aged and older females anyway. They should be doing anything and everything to appease to what fans are left. Instead they bolt to a national am show which has zero WFT fans watching. What in the hell does Sav Guthrie have to do w/ our team? What a pile of crap this thing has turned out to be. It is so easy to turn this into a big celebration downtown in the nations capital, maybe try and get fans excited about this dead ass franchise again. Nope, let's go on a morning show in NY. Idiots.

Just like w/ the entire Sean Taylor thing, they just screw shit up and really show they have no pulse at all on their own fanbase. They are totally detached.

At this point I feel like w/ this team it's like being in a loveless marriage..lol. We're just staying together cause of the kids. That is how I feel. I love them and can't root for anyone else, but I ain't IN love w/ them anymore.

Just a guess, but I would not doubt that his disappointment at changing the name has faded away and he is now once again salivating at being in the spotlight.

Ugh. Hardly worth the 2 year wait. The W with a monument on the left side seems unimpressive to me. There were better mock ups of Ws out there. If this is real, I don’t love it.

I wonder whether it is being leaked to see reaction so they can go in another direction if all they hear is vomiting sounds.

I'm not gonna make real decisions on the logo/uniforms until I see full uniforms.

The name is blah if Commanders is actually the name. The definition of average. Generic and boring. But that's what's acceptable now. Don't want to offend even 1 person.

Actually it's not inept it is covering their own ass. If they tried to have a name release with fans present then there would be 2 large segments; those wanting Redskins and vocally chanting Hail to the Redskins, and a group heckling and howling for Redwolves. Then there would be a small minority whose applause would be drowned out by the other 2 groups shouts.

DC FC - Dallas cowboys football club

The people's team = lame slogan

Washington DC Football Club - long name that literally excludes the rest of the DMV

The W is nothing special but it isn't awful.
