Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
Fire Turner for that last run play. You always try to win but I guess not him.
|
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
Damn! I thought we had a pick.
|
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
Smh... this is ridiculous
|
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
Protect the sideline.
|
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
58 yarder. Gano will miss it.
|
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
Well Turner and Rivera are absolute cowards but this tie is fine. Basically a bye and than do this again at home for the playoffs.
|
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
A tie is not that bad … we need to stay ahead of the other teams on the outside , better than a loss !
|
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
Whoo that was close, I thought he was going to do it against his former team, I wish we still had him, he’s turned out to be a great kicker
|
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
Wow, that shit was right down Broadway. Just 5 yards short.
|
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
Tie >>> Loss
|
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
Let lady luck keep on rolling

Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
Two coaches need to be fired Turner and the special teams coach. Turner throwing in the towel with that last run play / Gibson not taking it out at the end of the half and no one in the endzone at the end of the game to try to return the kick.

Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
Without Refs….this was a win

I thought running the ball was the right call, I would not have trusted Heineken in that situation, incomplete pass stops the clock, and they surely would’ve gotten the field goal then |

Concur. You know what? I have a feeling we're gonna handle their ass in two weeks. |
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
We are very lucky with a tie … one yard deeper and they win with a safety … a few yards more they hit the FG …
|

Concur. A sack/fumble or an INT would've been horrible. |

If we had a special teams coach with any sense we'de have had Gibson back there to return the kick. |

Exactly! Frankly, Gibson should be back there on punt returns as well. |
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
The wr screen call w/ the game on the line is so annoying. The chances of picking that up were slim. Would have been nice to give our wr's a chance to do some work down field.

Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
My problem with Turner and Rivera is they won't call plays to allow Heinicke to use his legs and make the defense account for him.
The Falcons, Eagles, and Giants does it. If we had someone like Schottenheimer, you'd see Heinicke and this offense feasting. |
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
If you can’t understand Th handcuffs this team and it’s play calling you don’t understand football

TH = Shane Falco……all about Heart!

I thought the same thing, career long 61 yarder + lining that shit up right down the middle - sure fire L. Luckily Gano is an old man now and doesn't have the leg for a 58 yarder outdoors. |

He's got the heart, but he doesn't have the talent. I like him as a short term solution, a solid backup, but long term he's not a guy you can build around. |

That's a fallacious and irrelevant response. Heinicke runs 4.56 40 which is more than fast enough for a QB to be threat with his legs. |

Ok whatever, being straight in a fast line is much different then scrambling ability |

For one, he's shown he can scramble. Lastly, you're not or rarely scrambling on designed run plays. |

Plain and simple he is not a very good QB, no other team in the nfl would start him |

Maybe not. But you use him towards his strengths. Learn the game. |

Pork, I like you and I'm glad you post here, but you make too many posts that imply that if you don't agree, whoever you disagree with, is flat out wrong and needs to learn the game. You don't have a monopoly on football knowledge. |

I agree with this. I don't think Scott Turner is doing enough to set the players in position to make plays. |

It's weird, because I feel like we have no less than league average receivers and an above average RB room. But offense is still brutal to watch most times. I rotate blame on that between the QBs/Turner/OLine. Our offensive line at pass protection makes it very difficult for not great OC or QBs to be successful. OLine should be the No. 1 off-season focus. Then base the draft around how the pre-draft off-season went. |

I can say what I wanna say when I see fit. He doesn't know the game if he uses an example of Vick and Jackson when it comes to using or not using Heinicke per RPO. If you're gonna play someone then play said player to their strengths. We're not doing that with Heinicke. |

Does Heinicke has the arm strength of Hurts, Mariotta, or Daniel Jones? Nope. But he has more than enough athleticism to even periodically use him on RPO action. Make the defense honor him. One hesitation or false step by the end, backers, and/or safeties can result in reasonable to sizeable yardage. Stop trying to routinely fancy him as some sort of drop back passer. Drop him him back periodically to keep the defense honest, but mix it up and allow Heinicke to use his legs. |

I think there's a large majority who doesn't know much. I know a guy who was an all-state high school football player in the late 80s who once told me that he really wasn't a true student of the game. He knew the game, but only enough to "get by" per se'. I brought that up because there are people who has watched hundreds or thousands of football games but still doesn't know particular nuances of the game. |
Re: Commies @ Vagiants GDT pt1
Honestly i'm not mad at today's Tie. It's better than a Loss and we are 7-5-1 at the bye.
