Arizona ..............gotta love it.
https://www.nydailynews.com/2023/11/29/arizona-election-officials-indicted-conspiracy-cochise-county/ Arizona election officials who refused to certify 2022 results charged with conspiracy November 29, 2023 at 6:04 p.m. Two rural Arizona election officials who attempted to block the 2022 results have been charged with crimes, Arizona’s attorney general announced Wednesday. Peggy Judd, 61, and Tom Crosby, 64, were charged with conspiracy and interfering with an election officer. “The repeated attempts to undermine our democracy are unacceptable,” Attorney General Kim Mayes said in a statement. “I took an oath to uphold the rule of law, and my office will continue to enforce Arizona’s elections laws and support our election officials as they carry out the duties and responsibilities of their offices.” Following the elections in November 2022, Judd and Crosby refused to certify the results, even though no one was disputing them. They instead aligned with conspiracy theorists who doubted electronic voting machines. Judd and Crosby’s refusal led to procedural fights with statewide officials, which resulted in a court ordering Judd and Crosby to do their jobs. The county supervisors later met and voted 2-0 to certify the results. Crosby didn’t show up. “They keep telling us, ‘That’s illegal. You’re gonna go to jail,’ but it hasn’t been so, you know, law is up to interpretation. Only the judge in the end can say,” Judd told the Daily Beast days before backing down and voting to certify. The two supervisors have peddled COVID vaccine conspiracies and election fraud conspiracies in the past. Judd was in attendance at the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol that attempted to prevent Joe Biden’s electoral victory. She claimed she didn’t go inside the building. “I didn’t think there was anything weird about marching on the Capitol,” she told the Tucson Sentinel later that month. “I kind of almost felt like it was equal to the Martin Luther King march.” |

If you like a talk about actual policy differences, this was the debate for you. Newsome tried to make it about bullshit with his Kamala remark, but it didn’t work. DeSantis went thru California policies under Newsome comparing to policies in Florida…it was an ass kicking. |

DeSantis has some of the worst policies he has pushed through: Highest teen suicide rates because of his laws? Check Biggest loss of biodiversity because of poor land use and exotic animal laws? Check Lack of home owners insurance options? Check Refusal to deal with climate change? Check Giving money to terrorist Saudi states and refusing to support local businesses? Check A trained monkey could put DeSantis in his place so Newsome must be inept. In the end though Newsome is probably the winner he doesn't have to wake up the next morning realizing he is DeSantis |

Newsome was not only wrong but a hypocrite who dined out at the French Laundry while locking down others. When I looked up teen suicides…the only real thing you listed I could give a shit about…Florida was middle of the pack per capita for teens. I mean he supports a ban of Tik Tok, which probably would help fight teen suicide. |

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4336876-ron-desantis-gavin-newsom-fox-news-debate-sean-hannity-california-florida/ Newsom shows his strengths Though Newsom often found himself on the defense in a hostile media environment, the California Democrat managed to keep his calm throughout, easily batting away attacks while also lobbing many of his own at DeSantis. In one such instance, DeSantis went after Newsom over his COVID-19 policies, saying that in California “you had Disney closed inexplicably for over a year” and that Newsom was “a lock-down governor.” Newsom quickly fired back. “Let’s talk about your record on COVID,” Newsom said. “You pass an emergency declaration before the state of California did. You closed down your beaches, your bars, your restaurants. It’s a fact. You had quarantines — you had quarantines, you had checkpoints all over the state of Florida. By the way, I didn’t say that. Donald Trump laid you out on this.” “He followed science. He followed Fauci,” Newsom added of DeSantis, to which the Florida governor said, “that’s not true.” Throughout the debate, Newsom was confident and good-humored, rarely seeming fazed when being attacked by DeSantis or pressed by Hannity, a self-proclaimed conservative. |

It Wasn’t Enough When the Newsom-DeSantis debate was first announced—on Fox News, moderated by Sean Hannity—many people wondered why Gavin Newsom, the Democratic governor of California, would put himself up to this. Newsom is not running for higher office, for one thing, while the staging of the event on Fox News, presided over by the comically immoderate Hannity, meant that the playing field would be slanted cartoonishly against him. On the other hand, it was easy to understand why DeSantis’ handlers, and perhaps some Fox News executives, thought the DeSantis-Newsom debate should have been winnable for the Florida governor. Sure, he has proved horribly overmatched sharing the debate stage with the middling field of Republican presidential aspirants, being pressed ever so slightly on his record and asked to differentiate himself politically. Peel away the multipronged opposition, tuck in some softball questioning, relieve him of the live audience: Surely DeSantis would be better able to flex some muscle. But after 90 minutes of sort of answering Hannity’s prompts, the debate managed to raise only two great queries: Why would Ron DeSantis agree to this? And shouldn’t he have looked taller than that sitting on Sean Hannity’s shoulders When the Newsom-DeSantis debate was first announced—on Fox News, moderated by Sean Hannity—many people wondered why Gavin Newsom, the Democratic governor of California, would put himself up to this. Lots of good free movies on Youtube right now, just finished this one. A particular line struck me from the movie about how the Nazis were trying to just make Germany great again. I had to check the date to see if this movie came out before Trump start repeating that about America (spoiler; it did). Worth keeping in mind when you think about how Trump publicly courts voters whose values align with the Nazis.

It's aimed at people who don't realize their values are aligning with neo-nazis. If you ever find yourself saying "those neo-nazis make some great points" you might want to re-evaluate your life. Let me rephrase - if you find yourself all-in on a guy who says he's only gonna be a dictator on day one you might want to re-evaluate your life. |
Re: The Most Fresh & Cordial Political Thread Ever
All presidents that use executive orders and/or un-elected beaurocrats to impose their will on the country, exhibit displays of dictatorship. Therefore, all presidents practice it. Maybe, some more than others. But being a little bit of a dictator isn't good imo.

That is a very ambiguous position. A Presidential executive order into being a Dictator is a big stretch, real big. |
