Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
My how time clouds memory.
Let's forget Farve and put the magnifying glass on Campbell. It is time for Campbell to put up, get back on the bench or go to another team. He needs sot step up or step out. Last year, the Redskins should have beat the Packers, but we lost 17-14. Defenses ruled the game. Re stats, Campbell outplayed Farve. Washington Comp Att Yds Pct Y/A Sack YdsL TD Int J. Both Campbell and Farve were poor, with ZERO points scored by either team and the Redskins losing by three. If you remember the game, it was bad offense and bad play calling in the fourth quarter for the Skins. Take a look if you can stomach the memory. 4th Quarter Green Bay continued 2nd-9, GB11 15:00 D. I saw first hand Brennan win games that UH shouldn't have won. I'm waiting for Campbell to do the same for the Skins. If Campbell just plays an average game, we'll be an average game at best. I want to score more points and win. You guys can kick Brennan all you want, but when he does make it, I presume you will apologize publicly.
I'm struggling to grasp what you are trying to convey here. So you have chosen one game and transcribed the play by play. Is your point that Campbell played poorly in this game? OK, so did most of the offense. Is your point that Campbell needs to play better than this for the majority of next season to remain the QB of the future? OK, no argument there. That Campbell was marginally better statistically in a game in which both QB's struggled? Ok, whatever. That Colt Brennan is totally sweet? Fine. But what does any of this have to do with this thread? |
Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
mahalo to both of you. I love the Skins...been a fan for most of my life. I want to win. I'll be thrilled if JC takes a step up. I've been a little discouraged with his progress. Re, this thread, I've decided that Farve is not the right guy for this team. Aloha.

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
Looking at Packers message boards, it's really interesting how many Packers fans (nearly all) are siding with Favre and not Ted Thompson. Makes you wonder how rabid Packers fans for the past two decades really have been. Have they just been rooting for Favre all this time?
I have a lot of friends who are Packers fans and most of them are Packers fans because of Favre. He's been the starter since 1992 since before i even knew what football was, so imo i think most of the ppl who became Packers fans within the last 17 years is probably because of him, so I can see why a lot of fans are siding with Favre because he is what made alot of them Packers fans and they just don't want to let go. |
Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
How are you a season ticket holder for BOTH?
ps- I am a huge brennan fan, but this thread is not about him. mahalo.
Good question |

I really don't think you'll find many people that will disagree with you here. I think we all know Favre will be a mistake. I believe it was schneed that pointed out that when Favre switches offensive schemes, he is not very good. In regards to Campbell, on many games a lot of us were just waiting for him to take over a game, he was so close to it, so the glimpses he gave us are enough for me to be very optimistic about our chances this year, especially considering our new coach was a very good qb coach. I am still curious as to how you can have season tickets to BOTH the SKins and University of Hawaii when Hawaii plays on saturdays, and the SKins play on Sundays. That's a difference of about 4500 miles. |

To be fair I think we need to give JC until the end of this season before we can properly judge his progress. He's now got 19 starts under his belt, experts will typically say you need to give a QB about 30 starts before you know what you've got. By season's end I think we'll know if JC has what it takes to be a franchise QB or not. |
Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
Next year the "experts" are going to say it takes 40-45 starts. JK

He may not even be markedly improved over last year, but if he plays a full season, we should see some noticeable improvement.

This is his first year in a new offense. We need to win now and Farve helps that plus he knows the west coast.

Why do we need to win now? |
Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
Favre in DC would be a mistake. However it would give us the best chance to win right now. JC hasn't proven anything and Favre is still a very capable first ballot HOF.
I hate Marty for benching #28. BS... |
Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
If JC can't win this year he should be bagged and tossed in the river.

because people are impatient. why else? |
Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
Just want to add my 5 cents. There's not a doubt in my mind that Farve would lead us to the Superbowl. I don't think DS is going to pass. He's going to make it happen, some way, some how.

I agree, I like Jason, but my patience is running very thin with him. I would prefer that T.C started, he proved last year who was the better QB. |
