Well a dream draft pick should be one that will help the Redskins win, and not just be statistically in the top 5 in defense. Besides, this guy Suh is showing up in all the threads. Not to mention people saying that we should pick up a defensive player with the first rounder. |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
I understand, it's because he could be the second comming of Reggie White. Adding that type of talent to a top tiered defense is scary
Definitely agree that we shouldn't pick up a QB and I highly doubt Tebow will be even average in this league. Don't agree with the Suh pick though, I say we trade it away and get at least 2-3 Offensive linemen...I don't know about you but I don't think Samuels has what it takes anymore
trading down is another option, as i doubt suh will even be available. alot can change between now and the draft, but he's definitely a top 3 pick and i dont think we'll be picking that high anyways. I wouldn't count on Samuels coming back, but if he did, id plug him in at RT, relegate Heyer to a backup, start Levi Jones at LT, and draft his replacement in the 2nd round. If we're picking in the top 5-8 and there's not a complete stud of a player that falls to us (like orakpo this year), then i agree we should try like hell to trade down. with so many juniors expected to declare for the draft in 2010, this draft should be especially deep at pretty much every position. if theres no stud, "can't miss" prospects, i'd absolutely love to trade down out of the 1st round entirely, and pick up as many 2nd rounders as we can. |

Suh is going to require double-teams. Haynesworth already requires that. By next year, its possible Orakpo will, too. Its a very scary proposition, indeed. If he's available, we simply can't pass on him. |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
If the draft were today we would draft 6th. If Suh goes in the top 5 then he is not relevant to our conversation as things stand right now.

except for the fact that if he fails to us it's a must take, i think thats what the majority of people are saying |

thank god your not the G.M. or wait a minute, are you Vinny incognito? because that is something that dumb-ass would do. what do you propose we do about our biggest liability, the o-line? |

I've been saying that we need to draft an o-lineman with our first pick no matter what. Someone like Okung preferrably. There are good defensive players available in the draft every year..but...my gosh does Suh look good. The more I read about him, and after seeing him in the Texas game, the same scenario as BHA describes has been playing in my head over and over and over..... Fortunately there is plenty of time to think this thing out and there should be some options with trades and such. There is a lot of time between now and the draft and a lot could happen. Restraint requires discipline, it should be interesting. My dream would be that we somehow acquire another #1 and get them both. Defininitely a dream. :) |

They had been eyeing Orakpo for a while, they didn't just stumble upon him on draft day |

they had been eyeing him yeah, so had a lot of other teams. if al davis wouldn't have pushed the button on dhb, him we might not have gotten him. had orakpo not been there i think we probaly would have got cushings or oher |
