PFT + JLC = Fail. This story couldn't be more wrong. We are not trading him. End of story. I'm now going to refer to them as the true liberal media, because while it's nice to hear rumors and the like during the offseason it gets annoying when they're dead wrong. The liberal part comes into play because they're are very Laissez-faire with what they'll use to write a story.
Out of all the great moves this FO has done, they really screwed up this situation with Haynesworth. My hope is that they get more than one draft pick in compensation, yet still these draft picks won't have the talent that AH .

If Shanahan "didn't like" AH, then they should have been straight up with him and put him on the block. Instead, we've had this whole circus fueled by Florio, JLC, and the morons at ESPN980. I don't think AH is completely innocent in this one, but to me he made sense by saying that the best way to use him would be at DE in our new 3-4.

While it will be nice to get the picks, I feel that we will be making another team better by giving them AH.

actually this whole thing was fueled by the team actively shopping haynesworth for the past few weeks/months, even though many of you stuck your head in the sand and believed shanahans pawn schefter over everyone else. hopefully this thing gets done.

Someone hacked Smoots account. That or all the work he has to do at the NFL draft has left him temporarily insane :D

They have not been actively shopping him. They have been actively listening. And now there are two or three teams that are in serious play for him. They have not been going around saying "please take this guy"

I know AH has been shopped, but these guys are overdramatizing the whole situation. To me I just hope the team doesn't trade AH just because "they don't like him" (which sounds like it is coming from a middle school dance). And they trade him because he's the most valuable asset to trade and they believe that we will be fine without him.

Personally, I think it doesn't make much sense to trade a guy that will improve another team vastly, while taking talent away from us. It's not like we have the personnel at the defensive line to lose someone like Haynesworth. Personally, I think the coaching staff last year had as much blame on his not so great performance. People are still sulking because the team gave him 100 mil contract like if it was AH's fault.

And this is what Mike Florio, JLC, and ESPN980 would want people to believe.

Just remember that at this time of year especially a lot of deals come very, very close to happening and then fall through at the last minute.

This is truly the battle of the network stars:
In the home corner weighing 210lbs
Adam_Schefter

Once again, told that Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth is not being traded. #nfldraft 7 minutes ago via web

In the opposition corner, weighing 260 lbs and eating at Subway:

Jason La Canfora

Plenty of sources still convinced Albert Haynesworth is dealt today, most likely to Titans for a 3rd rd pick. More on NFL Network/NFL.com about 1 hour ago via web

Going into the 9th round, who will land the knockout punch!

Hopefully it does not get done. I want AH on our team.
Shopping him is all good and fine. While I do not want the Skins to get rid of him, I am perfectly fine with trading him for fair trade value. Trading him for a 2nd and a 3rd is not fair trade value for a top 5 DT who can create sacks and collapse the pocket.
We have got to get out of this Vinny Cerratto/Dan Snyder mind set that we have to build our entire team through this one offseason. We need to be patient and build over time. Lets not give away future picks or give away value/commodities for less than its worth just because we have a boner to be in the 2nd and 3rd round.
Resist the immediate gratification.

if you define actively shopping the way it sounds you are, then no NFL team ever actively shops anyone. i highly doubt any GM ever goes to another team and says, "please take this guy." teams have known for months we want to get rid of haynesworth. publicly denying it is the smartest way to actively shop him.
