No surprise if Kelly or Thomas is cut prior to the season. Step up time is now
Kelly= No suprise at all but Thomas that would suprise me |
Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
^Yeah, I figure that they think Thomas is a player meaning that he shows up for games and may not be the best at practice but is dependable on Sundays.
That little 41 yard touchdown in his recent game film won't hurt his cause either but at this point, I would be surprised if Kelly wasn't cut. |
When do we get another first round draft pick?
next draft. I don't understand your question tho. We have our 1st and 2nd for next year, AND next years class is likely going to be thinner because many more juniors than usual came out last draft - I dont have stats on that but it was what was being said this year. As for jamaal we got him basically for dropping two rounds in the draft, that's not a high cost. As for the WRs. It seems like if kelly is a bust, thomas is avg and davis turns out to be a stud then that 2nd rd wasn't to bad a draft actually |

Even Bill Polian says that the best talent evaluators hit on about 50% of draft picks. The scenario you describe is right at 50% - normal. |

I think we could all as skins fans live with a stud TE and an average posession receiver out of 3 second round picks. More than some teams get. Id just like that average receiver to start being at least average this season though. :D |

Agreed. DT has shown some real flash to be more than average, he really just needs to get it together on a more consistent basis. I like Smoot, think he can be special. This could be the year he gets it together. ALSO like C, I would say that getting a stud TE and one of the 2 recievers to pan out would be a win for us, and consistent with the league average. |
Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
Armstrong is the main one right now preseason wise. he is snatching them balls not letting tip of his hands or head.
|
Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
Yes, I think he could be our new #3, with Moss and Williams pulling the 1 and 2.

What has Williams done to even be in the conversation. Galloway and Moss will start the season as the starters. in 3 receiver sets, Moss will slide into the slot and Armstrong will come in as the other wide out. By week 3 at the latest, i expect to see Thomas replace Galloway as the #2 guy in 2WR sets. |

At least Williams has somewhat of a body of work to look at, Thomas has a preseason TD and low expectations that he can't even meet. Plus, he is dropping passes left and right. I think he will struggle to be the #4, or maybe even the team the way he is operating. |

When I posted it in May it got immediate push back, but now its very possible. I dont think either player has seriously impressed since I made that comment. |
Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
If Kelly makes the team without even practicing, I can't see how DT doesn't make it.
|
Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
I tend to agree with BHA. I can see Galloway opening up as the #2. I'm not even sure I see Williams making the team.
|
Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
Roydell won't make the team.
Kelly MIGHT because of his physical stats and "potential", but I'm not sure Shanahan is going to give any free passes. Moss, Galloway, Thomas, Armstrong are LOCKS. Banks is likely. Kelly and Austin are possibilities for the final spot. I don't see Wade or Williams making it. |
Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
Galloway has only two things going for him, the veteran respect of his peers and the support of Bruce Allen. That may just be enough, but other than that he hasn't done anything this preseason to merit being a starter on this team.
