Re: War on Drugs Cant Be Won, According to Global Leaders
So smoking should be discouraged, unless it's weed. Got it.
I'm of two minds on this. Prohibition never works. But let's not act like pot is any less a vice than alcohol, smoking etc. LOL comparing it to oreos. At what point are sweets acceptable, then? Should we ban anything but rice cakes and cucumber salad (no dressing)? |

I've seen more than a few people post this as fact on FB the last few days.

And who is acting like pot is not a vice? Alcohol and tobacco are both legal vices, that are both have considerably worse known side effects, yet are both accepted by society and legal. And all sweets are legal so I'm not really sure what your point is? But if you don't think restrictions, taxes and bans of sweets are coming you are kidding yourself. Everything in life is about moderation, unfortunately we as Americans who live in the world of excess sometimes find it hard to moderate are lives. |

Also, I think alot of people who have substance abuse issues are genetically predispose to addiction issues to begin with or are suffering from mental illness(depression, anxiety, stress disorders, personality disorder, etc). With these cases, the approach that works best is health issue approach. The criminal approach is the wrong way. We as a country need to step back redefine alot of issues, mental health and substance abuse issues are top of the list imo. The typical "man up" or lock the person up and throw away the key approaches to these issues dont work. I think a light is starting to go off about mental health as we see these mass shootings across the nation and heinous crimes. |

No one is talking about force feeding it to people who don't want to smoke it, just not incarcerating those who do. |

Eliminate the black market, reduce crime, profit from it, everyone wins. Because at the end of the day people want to and are going to get high legal or not, might as well make it safer and make money off it. |

How is weed still illegal and oreos and crap food are legal and actually addictive, unlike weed?[/quote] im not a fat dude but im getting fat. i tore through some oreos the other night. it was so bad i tried to hid the package in between the microwave and cabinet so my lady wouldnt find it and ask me why i ate 90% of a new package of oreos in one night. she found the package and left it in front of the microwave. i went and crushed the rest. i need help. when we go grocery shopping i make it a point to not buy anything i know i will crush at midnight. but this was one of her stocking stuffers so it slipped in the house. i also ate 1/4 of a king cake last night. this morning i gave our daughter a sliver of king cake so if my lady asks me i can say "we" instead of "I". i need help. last week i had to explain how i we ran out of baby carrots so fast. "blue cheese bitch! it was the effing blue cheese! .. the mazeratti ultimate blue cheese is soooo goood". |
