Making a fuss? No. Pointing out unprofessional behavior? Yes. Tony was a bit out of line. You don't shove a reporter away like that. That's very unprofessional. I get it, it's hard dealing with the press at times but you simply have to act like a professional.
As I said, I don't mind people's opinion or mocking of what transpired, it's just these stupid "oh Snyder is behind this" stuff that's a lot of nonsense.
A friend of mine made that point to me at halftime and I honestly didn't even consider it.

But you're right... it goes one of two ways. Either he never had possession and it's not a catch, or he had possession and it's a fumble out of the endzone.

I guess the case **could** be made that he had given himself up, but I don't know how you can come to the conclusion. Guy had stood up and got popped.

Should have been a safety. Just like the hold at the end of the game.

I'm not a big conspiracy theorist but we seem to get the short end of the stick on refs more often than not. Last night was atrocious.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that if you never left the endzone, then a fumble out of bounds is a touchback, similar to if you were tackled in the endzone if you never left the endzone after an INT. Now, if he had run out of the endzone, been hit, and the ball popped out through the back of the endzone then it would be a safety, similar to if you ran out of the endzone and got tackled backward back in to the endzone.

The interviews with McCoy were great. Seems like a good kid. makes me happy he goth this chance and the success after the road he has traveled. In the pregame stuff, he looked visibly afraid. he came through and if the truth is known....big d is lucky it was a 2 touchdown spread

You may be right.

My understanding is that being tackled in the end zone = touchback, provided you never left/reentered the enzone.

fumble out of your own endzone = safety. only exception is if it's a kickoff/punt and the ball nicks your hand on its way out of the endzone, since you never had possession.

fumble into the other team's endzone and out of bounds = touchback for the other team.

there's also weird rules about fumbling on fourth down (only the person that fumbled can recover and advance the ball) and fumbling into the endzone and recovering it.

i read them all at one point but cannot remember :\

From the article:
UPDATE: Wyllie said on Tuesday morning that he was trying to get McCoy into the locker room for a speech from Redskins head coach Jay Gruden. “We wanted to get Colt in to hear coach’s postgame speech,” he told TMZ. “I wasn’t denying access. I wanted Colt to hear coach talk. I felt we needed to get him inside.” Make of that what you wish.
Ignoring the anti-Skins slant from the article (I feel like Shutdown Corner keeps sliding towards the PFT/TMZ media coverage with how they relentlessly attack every NFL team for a perceived slight) if this is true I feel there are ways he could've handled this better, but I can't fault him for doing his job.

The play was over once he had possession in the end zone, therefore no fumble. Just like a play ends once the ball crosses the stripe.

The play only ends that way when the offense crosses the goal line. Its a change of possession in the end zone. The defender can get up and try to run it out or declare himself down and get the ball at the 20. Same for kickoffs or punts that are caught in the end zone. He could have gotten up and ran around the end zone if he wanted, had he been tackled, its a touchback as long as he never leaves the end zone.

Having said that, if he does get up and run even without stepping out of the end zone then a fumble is live (so is the right to hit him). If that fumble hadnt gone out of bounds last night on the int, then its a refs decision as to whether he was declaring himself down (no fumble) or was he still live (fumble).

Editing to add: Since it was a 'possession change in the end zone' (yes... thats an important distinction), fumbling out of bounds is a touchback, not a safety.

I initially was wondering about that call, but.. I think touchback was the right call, but yes i was wondering about a safety as well.. Its a change of possession, more like a punt tho then a kickoff, and I still believe if he doesnt leave the end zone first, touchback

I gave Breeland the game ball in the poll, but there were lots of good performances. Jackson, Riley, Robinson, McCoy, Garcon, Reed, Amerson, Meriweather, Morris, and Kerrigan all played well.

I'm not as impressed with Haslett's game plan as some of you, mostly because he let both Murray and Randle average over 7 yards per carry. If Dallas sticks with the run at the end, they likely walk down and score. I give props to Haslett though for his blitzes. 4 of those 5 sacks came from the safeties and inside linebackers.

Awesome Article.

Essentially they saw the Cowgirls young line didn't know how to handle movement on the line, and once the blitzes started working they ran with it ( I hope we've exposed a real weakness for others to exploit.) They anticipated Romo's spin move, and once he was hurt he wasn't playing the same.

Merriweather credits Clark for teaching him things that helped his performance, maybe Clark will pay off in helping Merriweather polish his game and just maybe he can get his head out of his ass.

you better believe other teams will take note.
I wonder if Bill Cowher is....still laughing at the notion of Colt McCoy facing the vaunted boys....
Quote straight from Jerry:

"I was here during the tail end of the examination and knew he planned to come back out and play if he were needed," Jones explained matter-of-factly. "Of course he was needed. I felt good that he could come back out. When he saw the opportunity he did. I told Jason that he would be back in."

Are you fucking kidding me?
The better option might have been to let Weedon finish the game. Romo was still obviously still not right. Jones deserves to be getting killed today.
