Well Campbell looked totally capable today. One more than occasion I found myself saying..."Brunell could never have made that play". Based on one game(not much) Campbell looks like he could be a quality starter. I think we should with hold judgement for a while though. So hope was instilled today I guess.

He's realistic, are you expeting us to go to the superbowl? At least now we can look at some young players and see what they can do for next year. ooppss I forgot we don't have any young players other than Campbell, just a bunch of overpayed nonsignificants

The offense looked great today.. too bad they were barely on the field.

But I expected a loss, what I didn't expect was a great show by JC. I am very impressed and happy with what he showed today. Now we've got the problem isolated to the defense..

Touche.

I never made the argument that Brunell's stats were all "garbage time," though I do think his stats may have been a little inflated in a few games.

Campbell trying to bring the team back when we're down 10 points with 4 minutes to go isn't "garbage time," there's still a somewhat legitimate shot at winning or tying the game.

Throwing the ball a whole bunch in the 4th quarter when we're down 20 or 30 points is garbage time.
JC is an overated qb...I dont see what everyones crush is on him is about..........Maybe Ill give him more credit when he starts showing why we drafted him....Collins could of did just a better job today honestly...and this defense...Archeletta should be cut.
It is too early for me to agree that he is overated, considering that Brunell never had to start without Portis and Moss. Part of me wanted to actually see Collins, because the guy is the #2. He is getting reps with our offense weekly and Campbell is running the scout team. More importantly, Collins knows Saunders playbook. If Collins started, I would have known by now if I needed to tie cinder blocks to Al's legs and throw him off the Wilson Bridge.

I'm not going to take anything away from Campbell for running a successful drive against all odds. Sure, we didn't score fast enough to get the ball back, but you can only do so much.

He didn't turn it over and he ended up making all the right reads. I'm not so sure that he outplayed Brunell, but considering that the change was made for the future, and the dropoff was debateable, it certainly looks like a good decision right now.

Re: Skins vs. Bucs 11/19/06 game thread
The offense looked great today.. too bad they were barely on the field.
To play devil's advocate for a second, how was our offense any different today than any other game. Was it our lofty 17 points? Our lack of a running game? No interceptions? Sub 200 passing yards?

This game was everything that has happened this season rolled up into one game. I wouldn't say the offense looked great, but it certainly was efficient (no surprise there).

That said, Campbell came in and did for this offense what Brunell was doing, moving the football and putting the D in good field position if he didn't score points. Campbell didn't give up the 95 yard TD drive. And he did it all without Portis and Moss, which although I wouldn't put him in Canton for, has to count for something.

One thing that's kinda interesting:

If Jason Campbell was brought in to throw the deep pass, and he only averaged 5.76 Yards/Attempt (Brunell's season average~7.0), then did he get that done?

I don't know. I was as impressed as the rest of you with his poise in the pocket, but 5.76 yards/attempt is pretty below average. Could it be that the vertical game is STILL lacking?

Re: Skins vs. Bucs 11/19/06 game thread

Adam (farce)heletta
rogers
Release them now

This was never a qb problem especially when the person u benched broke the completion record

Its a defense problem and when u have 2 people that bring this team down on the field then u have a problem CUT THEM

As for Al saunders....Im down with the tieing bricks on his legs and tossing him into the atlantic!

OH, and I was totally impressed with JC. Too bad we had to bench Mark for the rest of the year though. But I liked what I saw in him. Hopefully he will be good for us once we get our D put back together.

His completion precentage was low and will drive down avg per attempt.

However his avg yards per completion was nearly 20 yards.

I guess that's why average per completion isn't used. A guy can have a really high yards/completion, but still be awful with a terrible completion %.

56% isn't horrible though. Hopefully he will improve.

What a worthless bunch of losers. I have been watching and rooting for this team for 33 years and it is just getting to be too much to take every week. Another waisted day. They blew a chance to move up in the standings with Philadelphia losing to the Titans and the Cowboys and Giants playing tough games. They played with no emotion today and for the past four weeks unless you count Marcus Wahington doing robot dances and strutting around after Cadillac Williams drags him for an 8 yard gain.

TMC, what's up with your boy Rogers? Slowing down as he approached the QB on a corner blitz, dropping an INT in the red zone, getting beat over the middle. Is he spedning too much time dancing between downs?

Speaking of Brunell, did you see that David Carr tied his record today of 22 consecutive completions in one game?

In GTripp's defense, he has had many good things to say about Campbell (even if he remains steadfast in his defense of Brunell).
