He wasn't perfect, but compared to his play previously? OMG, it was like night and day. That kid was fighting for his job out there and he did very well. I just hope he keeps it up!
Yeah compared to bad days' of his it was a great day for him by any standard, but some fans want perfection which is ridiculous. |
One thing that's bothered me is what exactly has he done to warrant all the criticism ANYWAY? He's been pretty consistent over the years that he's started and that includes a fairly dated offensive scheme he was running.
It's almost like people were taking that first Giants game and acting like that's the only one that "counted" when it comes to JC.
Don't get me going. He has done plenty. But this is happy JC time. |

It's pretty easy to flip flop when JC has been so inconsistent. However, I have never seen him play the way he played on Sunday. There hasn't been a game prior that I came away feeling that good about him. I didn't see much in that game that he did wrong, so I'm surprised you heard a guy screaming for Colt at all.
Wise pointed out the same thing in this article |

To say he has been pretty consistent over the past few years is a streetch but I hope he can build off this win. |

I wish this article would be posted on here. That is sad. How fickle some fans are. Excerpt from article: He was skewered, from the lout beneath the press box in Section 107, one level up from the field, who cupped his mouth like a megaphone and shouted, "Jason, you're not our franchise quarterback!" to the cretin behind his own bench. "That guy would say, 'Come on, Jason, throw the ball downfield,' " Campbell said. "Or he would stand up and yell, 'Jason, you [stink].' Real nice, huh? You tune it out, but . . . " It's unclear whether the fan was the same man high-fiving his friends repeatedly after Santana Moss skipped into the end zone with the football and victory in his hands. Or whether that was the same fan telling everyone in his vicinity how he always knew Campbell had not only the mental and physical wherewithal to pick up a complex, new system but also the gumption to throw a clutch bomb in the crucible of a home Talking about flip-floppers!! lol RIDICULOUS |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
I wish some of these fans would switch teams. I really do. If you did'nt know who they were, you would swear they were cowgirl, iggle, or giant fans. I hear more detrimental crap from them than the opposing teams fans. If you just want to bitch and create some kind of drama, go on the Jerry Springer show.

Yeah that's bad when fans of other teams dont bash our players as much as we do!! |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
I've always hate it when fans BOO our players at games. I HATE that.. I just want to smack all 50K of them at once and shut them up!

Re: JC is not what I thought.
JC won the game.......Whether it was messy OR perfection, A big "W" is all that counts in my book.
|
Re: JC is not what I thought.
JC said it on Comcast last night, QB gets too much credit for wins and most of the blame for losses.
He's got 3 300 yard games, 6 games with 60% or higher completion percentage and has 8-4 TD-INT over the past 8 full games.. That's what we call in the English language "progress".. I know this won't silence the relentless criticism but hopefully it will get them to STFU for a week or so. |

Re: JC is not what I thought.
im not much on stats...but i think all the campbell doubters need to see this.......
39 of 63...thats 61.9%....454 yards....94.3 qb rating...2 tds and NO ints.... whats not to like about that? |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
I am sure they will find something..lol

LOL...you couldnt be more right about that. i left out 0 fumbles too....JC made my day yesterday. I was happy as you wouldnt believe to see him play the way he did. And to see portis play at the level he played at...on offense i think we may have turned a corner yesterday. |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
Hope he keeps it up. First time in a long time the Skins have fulfilled there potential in a game. This better not be just a flash in the pan. The Cards maybe even better than the Saints.

I think it shows progress, not complete progress but some. Bad quarterbacks may get credit when they win games, but that still doesn't make them good quarterbacks. Winning games will become easier when JC becomes better. That's why most elite quarterbacks win a lot of games. When they struggle though, that's when the team is worse off. |

It's actually more like 2 games, but whatever |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
Okay, so I didn't have faith in JC. I guess Jim Zorn did, because that was a beautiful game. I'm not even going to complain about RE or the punting. It was a nice way to win, and it was a game that we would have lost under NT up until JZ.

Some fans just seem to have no concept of how the game actually works. In those games that he played exceptionally but we didn't win, did he have 4 turnovers in our first 6 possessions against TB? Did he get burned for 4 TD by TO in Dallas? To pin the loss on him for throwing INT at the end of those games reinforces a lack of knowledge of a QB learning how to win in the NFL. He can control what he does and his game to game improvement. He can be 21-22, 375, 5 TD and we can lose 38-35, does that mean he didn't improve enough because the team didn't win? |

Thought this is good article about JC

JC is always looking at who he is going to throw to. At the started of the game he had a few of his players just lite up! On the NFL network they said the samething on monday. If I can see this so can any NFL coach. He has to look off D players to get his guys open. You have to say we were a bite lucky to have a starter CB go down and pick on him in the second hafe! I will take it! |

Dont get me wrong here...Im not ready to declare JC our savior. He is a work in progress...I am hoping as some of the other JC supporters that last week will serve as a point where he might have turned a corner. There was alot of positives about his play sunday as well as some negatives but sometimes you gotta take the good with the bad. Lets see what he does this weekend. |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
bringing zorn in is already paying dividends. campbell def looked better out there and the playcalling seemed to adapt to him alil as well. that was awesome to see JC do the avoid, reset, throw to moss after zorn and others spent so much time talking about that same play against the giants where JC avoided but then didnt reset right away. it was awesome to see the skins adjustments from game 1 to game 2 and from halftime and in each game so far.
i am really starting to buy into zorn's abilities big time. he identified problems from game 1 and clearly made adjustments to address those problems. i love it, cant wait till next year when we will be a legit contender for a lombardi!!!! go skins!! |

He's really playing well. Still not INTs on the year too.

Thank You, Dirtbag! Campbell will be great in this league. Gibbs saw something in this kid and it will pay big dividends in the future. In fact, when the trading up and drafting of Campbell was criticized, Gibbs replied "we were thinking of the future on that one." The game might of passed Gibbs by, but he has an extremely rare ability to see things in people. |

hahahaha great bump J.Campbell is my dude!!!! great game baby, looking good

Re: JC is not what I thought.
JC won us the game for the most part. We had no running game, and the D was hot and cold. JC was hot and cold, but hot when we needed it. Another great week for him, and his improvement is impressive.
|
Re: JC is not what I thought.
3 weeks, no INT's. Great job, JC!
edit: I also noticed that with his stats in this game, he should now be above a 100 passer rating for the year. I don't know if anyone predicted that would be the case after 3 games. |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
3 weeks, no INT's. Great job, JC!
Plus he's making good decisions when to take off and run. Jason was masterful today. Can't wait to see him vs. Dallas.

The intermediate/deep middle of the field should be wide open against Dallas, so if the line can give Campbell some time, he could light the Cowboys secondary up next week. At the very least, The Skins should be able to give the Cowboys a fight. |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
I appreciate that he is not turning the ball over, but he still has to stop getting rattled after the sack. Otherwise it was a good performance.

Absolutely! It seems that completely messes up his timing, and decision making ability. Hopefully time will change that. |

If he throws 2 or 3 pics this week against the Boys, I won't type his name again this season. |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
Here's the question you have to ask:
Are Campbell's problems related to learning a new offense, or is he regressing in key facets of game play that would show up in any offensive scheme? According to the sideline reporter from NBC tonight (can't think of her name), Zorn said Campbell "has to read the defense." This is Campbell's fourth season in the league and Zorn has to remind him to do that? It doesn't help that the same group of offensive linemen from last season apparently have all forgotten how to pass block.

Hey I love this team, but that was pitiful. That guy is ???????. Just my opinion, but that JC kid was pathetic with that QB play. The Giants knew it from the start.

QBs are leaders. They lead the team.. he doesn't do that, period. He's a wimp that has no confidence. UGH!!! ...

You're right: Jason Campbell is regressing. We have a major problem at QB. He looked lost out there and held the ball way too long.

Put in collins, He spanked the giants 8 months ago, he won 4 in a row, he's still got momentum. He should be this teams captain, he can guide this team better than JC. Having him in is the best chance we have. Just like in Arizona, sit the sucker, start the veteran
.............................. |
