You having trouble writing today? Your grammar is all over the place today. But I would hope that I don't do it with the frequency you do it (or at least as often as I and others perceive you do).
OK, I admit it, I'm not good at multi-tasking and often my grammar tends to be the first suffer. It's a limitation I struggle with every day but I soldier on.

This is all lighthearted stuff, certainly nothing to be offended by. I try not to talk down to people but sometimes the frustration gets the best of me. People need to brush it off, jab back and move on.

Actually, as SS33 pointed out, I may have misinterpreted your post. So that being the case, I do apologize. However, you do tend to get a bit insulting at times. And considering you said "don't label me" to me the other day, I think it's a bit hypocritical given the labels/jabs you throw around here at times.

When Harry Reid is accussing the CBO of playing partisan politics considering the balance of power in DC you have to find that incredibly laughable. The left wing of the Dem party and the White House should take a major step back and truly evaluate different solutions to health care reform rather than the piss-poor current Health Care legislation.

See, I'm smart enough to doubt IBD's claim because a) a law preventing private commerce would not stand up to a constitutional challenge, b) democrats aren't stupid enough to expose themselves like that politically, and c) I know IBD is no friend of mine, they're like Jim Cramer in paper form. I wonder who in the House Ways and Means Committee confirmed their suspicion?

Anywho, we're both men capable of reading the bill for themselves. The subsection IBD referenced is part of a broader section that insures going forward that any government Qualified Health Benefits Plan meets certain requirements (affordable coverage, essential benefits, and consumer protection). That is to say private sector enterprises that want universal healthcare $$$ have to adhere to these set of rules. Now you're wondering what does this have to do with any of the scary stuff put forth by IBD? Well, the government has a grandfather clause in the bill which says private enterprises don't have to adhere to these rules with respect to individuals they currently have signed up.

Furthermore, both you and private enterprises are free to conduct business as usual (individually or through employer/group) but if the private enterprise want to sign you up under universal healthcare they must adhere to government requirements. Seems pretty reasonable and not so scary. If you didn't have such provisions private enterprises would sign-up their healthy clients through their own private plan and the not so healthy clients under universal healthcare.

I don't believe the hype and the snipes from IBD types.

I don't believe the hype and the snipes from IBD types.
While IBD exaggerated the claim that private insurance will be outlawed, the Bill does force private insurance carriers to comply with the rules/regulations of the Health Insurance Exchange and new coverage may be purchased only through the Exchange.

IBD falsely claimed House health bill would "outlaw individual private coverage" | Media Matters for America

from the link: "Individual health insurance plans that do not meet the "grandfather" conditions would still be available for purchase, but only through the Exchange and subject to those regulations."

This error in source-checking or reading comprehension by the folks at IBD still doesn't account for the massive price tag (estimated by CBO at $ 1.5T, real numbers likely over $ 3T) or the fact that covering the uninsured could be done with tax-credits or vouchers much more cost-effectively rather than a full-scale government take-over of health care.

So, you and I, who are both at least reasonably intelligent/educated spent more than a minute or two researching and understanding what is involved in about 2-3 pages of this bill. There are 1018 pages in the .pdf. At the very least, don't you agree that more time should be taken to truly understand and evaluate such a major piece of legislation rather than ramming it through due to political considerations.

Its not about reducing cost or providing better care its a power grab by the Democrats no matter what the cost is or the damage it does. They just want control over more people so they can use them to gain votes. Thats why they did not want to allow Americans to use 2% of thier SS to invest on their own. Thats how they work and how they gain their power.

See to me it isn't about a power grab or anything like that. I think philosophically they'd rather try to address a problem however they can, right or wrong, rather than wait and try to do it right. To them it is worse to do nothing than to try something that probably won't work. That basic moral compass points them away from reason and helps them embrace political gamesmanship. And this isn't just Democrats, it is everyone. It's the way our nation is governed now.

Congress can act quickly, if it wants to. They pushed through something like $75B for Afghanistan in about a week, but things like health care and education seem to be neglected. At least you'd never see so much money for them pushed through so quickly.

On principle though, I think we're usually best served by doing something, rather than nothing, even if that something could/might fail.

One of my favorite quotes of all time:

"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat."
- Teddy Roosevelt
For all of you think I should fork out more money when I already send them over $1400 a month for SS which they say might run out please explain why I should be willing to give them more money? Thats just what they take from me for SS. Yes today was bill day at the office and I just get ticked when I look at those numbers. I think of how much earlier and how much more money I would have if I could keep invest that money into my retirement account. Now I have people telling me I need to fork over more money for another programe and they can't even fix what is allready broken. So For Obama and others who want more of the hard earned money of mine they can just pucker up and kiss my a$$. Ok, now that I'm done with that rant I have a 1:30 Tee time to relax and get my weekend started. I usually win money playing golf I wonder if some Dem. will be waiting on the 19th hole to get his share.
This is genuinely funny. Good job!

Keep in mind, you probably would have much less, or possibly no, "hard earned money" if there was no government/infrastructure. It's a give and take, not just a take.

As far as the government infrastructure goes we already pay for that, far more than we should. The government provides military to make sure we don't get taken over, OK. Interstate roads receive federal funding, I get it. Possibly some oversight into banking and finance, OK I get that too. What else could the fed possibly do to make sure I have "hard earned money"? I'd gladly keep my 7.8 or so percent of my paycheck for SS and Medicare and handle my own retirement. States/localities provide over 94% of education funding. Police and Fire are provided through state and local taxes.

You will recall, I'm sure, from your history lessons that there was no income tax in the U.S. until the early part of the 20th century. The country was doing just fine economically without it.

Shhhh. History only counts when it proves the United States is mean and big Government saved the day.

Wait, I am sorry, that is just how the NEW history books portray it.

I'm sure you recall from your own history lessons that there was in fact an income tax imposed during the Civil War, and that much of the debate regarding the necessity of an income tax that led to the constitutional amendment surfaced in the aftermath of the Spanish-American War. Apparently, the US Congress and three-quarters of the union's states believed that the country was not doing "just fine" without an income tax.

Oh, and you say that it is "possible" that there may be some justification for the federal government's use of power to provide "some" oversight of banking and finance? Meaning, that this is a close call? That no oversight might not be a bad idea. Wow.

Even so, the tax was less than the SS tax alone is today.

And I'm not saying there should be "no oversight" into the financial system, but not the monstrosity of regulations/legal burdens companies must jump through for the government.

You really should read Chapter 1 of The Fair Tax Book by Neal Boortz to understand how the Income Tax really came to be. As is the same today, the Income Tax (or expansion of taxes) was a Democrat creation, and unfortunatley a few liberal Republicans signed on.

Again, as usual with lefties, my original point wasn't countered....at all, only nit-picking minor details. Please enlighten me, how does the federal government/infrastructure allow/facilitate private individuals & companies to make money? And do you believe the cost of that is worth about 33% of a mid-high end workers income?
