What pick(s) do we have left?

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
You see Dennis Morris' catch on 1st round pick, Kyle Wilson (NYJ)? This dude is a receiver! He's has bulk but he's not squatty! He could be our flanker for sure.
D-Mo
He has the height but at 250 pounds I highly doubt he's a flanker. More likely then not he's going to split time at FB, TE, and H-Back. I can gurantee though that he will be a beast on special teams. |
Redskins own the 7th round.
the 7th round is right next to "ooops, you weren't good enough to be drafted" Why anybody would TRADE to get into the 7th round is beyond me. The Redskins should have been trading their 7th round to try to get into a 5th round slot. Not trying to move back to get closer to "ooops, you weren't......" I'll slip out and fix something to eat now that we're into the fabulous star maker 7th round. |
What pick(s) do we have left?
The 1st and 12th picks in the 7th. I say use both on the OL or one OL and one LB. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
I'm very happy with the Dennis Morris pick. He is an absolute beast of a blocker. Also, he is a top-notch receiver. He'll be a great FB for us.

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
i'm in the BPA camp. we're scraping the bottom of the barrel here looking for guys with some potential. I love the picks we've made so far. i understand people are disappointed that we didn't draft certain "big name" guys that were still available with our 4th and 6th, but when you think about it, if we, the comparatively uneducated fans know about some of these guys, then i'm sure our FO was thoroughly familiar with them - there's a reason these guys were/are still available in the draft. I trust our FO to pick the players which they think will have the greatest chance to contribute here.
All this talk about vinny still running the show is foolish. regardless of what scouts we've got, its shanahan and allen actually making the selections. if they pick a LB or TE we've never heard of over an offensive lineman, then its because they feel that guy can add to the team - even if its only as competition to push a veteran on the roster to perform better. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Casserly commented that JC a few minutes ago that JC was not a WCO QB as he was "slow" in a lot of areas, such as slow feet, slow decision-making, etc.

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
bpa makes sense at this point. with that said, i wouldnt mind picking up capers or black for some more oline depth.

i agree. Yoder is gone, Ryan is nothing to get excited about, and Sellers will be 35 when the season starts. Morris may not make the team, but he was a solid pickup here and very worth of being selected. If he performs close to Sellers level in camp, then bye bye caveman. If not, atleast we pushed Sellers a little bit. Competition at every spot is Shanahan's motto. we definitely needed competition here. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
We pick 1st in the 7th, hope its Cirron Black

I saw that to. Someone was just begging to interject on his west coast experience at Auburn. However I think Caserly's evaluation was pretty spot on. He's accurate (though no one stresses that it's only on intermediate routes) and he's pretty good when you can use play action with him. Who knows this might not have been to bad of a situation. The Raiders draft is actually one of my favorites this year. They got a guy who will compete with Patrick Willis for the generations best traditional Linebacker (Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher I consider last generation) a DT that is well regarded, and two promising young tackle prospects in Campbell and Veldheer. |

This guy could be a better football player than Cooley or Davis. He seems willingly to do the dirty work. This is the reason you draft the best player available. You turn over your roster with quality players and position yourelf to trade players who other teams will value over time. I will. I will. |

we've got enough oline "depth" on the team as it is now. what we need is another starting-caliber tackle. to draft an olineman at this point would be a waste in my opinion. I think we'll go BPA, but where i see us going is WR, QB, LB, or FS. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Selvish Capers and Tony Washington are the only tackles that matter anymore. Ciron Black is just like Sam Young in my book. Huge guys that can't move. I know Todd McShay had us taking Black in the first round last year, but like many LSU guys projected to go high going into his senior year he dropped the ball.

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
I think we're going to take Blount.
@Adam Schefter Get ready for Oregon RB LeGarrette Blount to go fairly soon -- hunch. #nfldraft |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Carolina got Clausen AND Pike... damn...
I kinda liked Pike... oh well... QB next year |

Yes, Jason is slow. Since Vinny knew that before he hired Zorn, why did he hire a HC who he knew would install a WC offense? I'm so sick of Vinny's stupidity I could puke. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Whats up with the Panthers? Does Gruden now run the team, they must have like 5 QBs now?
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Besides Capers, we could get Dorian Brooks to play G or Jeff Byers to play center. Or we could grab Micah Johnson as an ILB.
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Carolina...still baffled on that Armani Edwards trade up pick...is he worth a 2nd rounder? I think not.

Trade?
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
What did we get with that trade to the Patriots?
|

A trade...
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
What did we get with that trade to the Patriots?
Most likely the 22nd and 24th pick in the 7th. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
prolly 7th 22 and 7th 24
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
heard we got tom brady in the trade...looking for a backup QB
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Ummm, WTF? I know we keep trading out for what? more picks? I presume all are in the 7th round? basic camp fodder. Nice.

We got ripped off. They should have at least thrown in Jerod Mayo. I mean come on this is the 1st pick we're talking about here. |

it was the 22 and 24 just like you said. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Draft in bunches. 3 7th rounders all for the same position, and let them have a cage match in camp to earn the spot.
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Officially received the 22nd and 24th pick...
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Cody Grimm, would he been a fit as an ILB in 3-4?
|
Cody Grimm, would he been a fit as an ILB in 3-4?
No. Grimm is only 203 lbs. and he projects as a safety in the NFL. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
I hope we trade the 219 to the Buccs for the 225 and 232
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Cory Chaveous is doing pretty good. He's easily one of the smartest guys to ever play in the NFL. My only problem is similar to Grudens problem with McCoy in that he has an accent. Still the thing that matters most is what they're actually saying and Chaveous is doing a great job filling in for Mayock.
doe anybody else want to comment on why we have 2 staight years of drafting and still only 2 picks on offensive or defensive linemen.
Last year its orakpo and this year is williams. 1 choice for each line. Is vinnie still consulting this team?
you are right. The redskins are wasting time. Why don't they just try to trade out of the 7th round and that way they can pick up more free agents that nobody wanted to draft |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
grimm will at the very least be a great special teams player. good pick by the bucs, one of my favorite tech players of all time.
