Re: 2012 QB Class
We're choosing QB's who are very similar, winners in college, guys that throw left with little arm strength.

Good read. Offensive line heavy but seems like a good draft.
This is exactly what I called for in an earlier post today, a QB and two O-linemen for the first 3 rounds. I would be thrilled with this outcome, especially a QB with the athleticism of RG3. I would address our void at #1 WR via free agency. |
Re: 2012 QB Class
yeah and we might not get any of them.luck is coming out but the other two(jones, and barkley) are questionable and they might be picked before we draft...............
|
Re: 2012 QB Class
Let me ask... is there something wrong with Jarrett Lee (LSU)? I'm only asking because LSU is ranked 1st in many NCAA Polls.
I guess we might get to see the game on Directv ch. 206 ESPN tonight LSU vs. Miss. The other game that I'd like to see is Oklahoma vs. Baylor only because there are 2 QB's everyone is talking about playing each other. |
Re: 2012 QB Class
You guys watch USC vs Oregon tonight and tell me what you think about Barkley, he just threw his 1st TD of the night.
|
Re: 2012 QB Class
@ the OU-BAY game and Very impressed with RG3 so far, great Deep accuracy on long ball.. Mechanics seem a bit shaky though
|
Re: 2012 QB Class
barkley is doing very well tonight

Indeed he is. He's fairing much better than Luck did against the Ducks. IMO Barkley is going to be a better NFL QB than Luck. I really hope we get him. |

I'm not sure if he's going to be a better qb than Luck, but he's definitely going to be a good one.
@ the OU-BAY game and Very impressed with RG3 so far, great Deep accuracy on long ball.. Mechanics seem a bit shaky though
I've been very impressed with RG3. So far he's throw for 422 yds and 3 tds. He's showing everybody that he worthy of being drafted not just in the first round but in the ten.

Re: 2012 QB Class
RG3 is Killin it Tonight.
|
Re: 2012 QB Class
All I know is the skins better get one of these 4 QB's
Luck Barkley RGIII Jones They are all going to be great QB's, my preference is Luck followed by Barkley but would not be upset with either of the other 2. |
Re: 2012 QB Class
My mind is made up. I want RG3!
|
Re: 2012 QB Class
Watched both the USC- Oregon game and the Baylor - Oklahoma Game. RG3, Barkley, and Jones all had good games but coming out it really made me like RG3 and Barkley. They Dominated. They were the reason their team won. That said Jones wouldn't be awful but for me is a bit too inconsistent. Hoping for Rg3 or Barkley.

Re: 2012 QB Class
Barkley is heads above Leinart and Sanchez, he reminds me of a better Carson Palmer.

Yea he demonstrated he can make all long short and intermediate throws. At one point tonight he was 11/13 and had a drop by his wide receiver. He shows great touch and placement for his throws. Tough decision who to pick next year. |

yes it is, I still say Luck followed by Barkley, just because both play in a pro style offense already and would adapt quicker to the NFL than RGIII and Jones. |
Of the top 4, I think Landry is a distant 4th. That game winning throw by RG III though...WOW!!

You know, after the shitty season the Redskins have endured there is silver lining after all. I am confident and ecstatic that the skins will get one of these 3 QB's come the 2012 draft. |

Ya, and with RGIII playing out of his mind, and Barkley showing on national TV how great he is, and with Luck getting exposed last week and barely beating Cal this week, I wouldn't be surprised if we still somehow got Luck. (Indy can swap with us and still get a great QB) |

Robert Griffin III vs. Texas A&M (2011) - YouTube I wasn't a RG III fan untill I started watching him play... I would be pumped to have him here |
Re: 2012 QB Class
I saw that last minute drive by Robert Griffin III he showed his escape ability in the pocket which allowed him to extend plays down field. He also showed his arm strength. I like what I saw from him, so with that said I would love to have him as our QB in 2012.

Re: 2012 QB Class
After last night game I'm sold on RGIII kid is a sure baller, as for Landry jones.... I still say he's coming back to OU
|
Re: 2012 QB Class
This is truly an outstanding QB class. We must take one of these players in the first round. If that means trading up to get one of them, so be it!
|
After last night game I'm sold on RGIII kid is a sure baller, as for Landry jones.... When Stoops called the TO with 40 seconds left, I had a feeling that RG3 would come through. Dude's a BALLER!!!

Re: 2012 QB Class
I saw that Oklahoma-Baylor game last night. Griffin III outshined Landry Jones. While I wouldn't mind the Redskins having either one of these elite college QBs, I suppose both of them fits in a Shahanan system. Barkley played well against the upset over Oregon last night as well.
|
Re: 2012 QB Class
Hoping for a win today but...
Only 4 teams w/ a worse record than us currently. |
Re: 2012 QB Class
Yeah no denying it, RGIII was absolutely phenomenal yesterday.
|
Re: 2012 QB Class
The only two QBs that I feel are sure things are Luck and Barkley.
|
After last night game I'm sold on RGIII kid is a sure baller, as for Landry jones.... I still say he's coming back to OU
Must've been a great game to be at, regardless of your team.
RG3 is the man, he better come out. Luck will go # 1, let the "experts" rave about Barkley and have him picked next. He'll be better than Sanchez but I don't think he'll be as good as Bradford. Hopefully that leaves RG3 for us. |
Re: 2012 QB Class
RGIII is awesome. Very good deep ball and he has great downfield accuracy. Every time I have seen him play he just seems to know exactly what to do with the ball every play. And on top of his passing skills he can make plays w/ his feet when its needed. If the Skins got RGIII the 2012 draft would be considered a success to me regardless of whoever else Shanny spent the picks on.
I like Barkley a lot too, I like the offense that he is in, he just seems like an NFL quarterback already. Landry Jones I'm not as high on. If we traded back and got him that would be cool but I wouldn't want him in the top 10. HTTR!!! |
Re: 2012 QB Class
Yeah no denying it, RGIII was absolutely phenomenal yesterday.
He's been phenomenal all year. We will have a chance to draft him. When that time comes I hope we make the right decision.

I think Jones is a very safe pick and a quarterback who still has some upside to be developed. Not as solid as Bradford. RG3 looks to be maybe the best Shanny fit of the elite QB prospects. I still think Luck is the best QB prospect, but RG3 might actually be the best fit here with what Shanny wants to do. |
I think the difference now from then is the improvement elsewhere along the offense. Somebody finally stepped up besides Robert Woods (Lee, Ellison, Grimble) in the passing game. Alot of inexperienced guys really grew up this year with more PT. And it's also a reason that he may actually stay one more year. One of my work studies at the office is good friends with Matt's sister and tells me money isn't the most important factor when it comes to his decision. With our bowl sanctions ending this year and the offensive players having another season in the offense, I've heard there's a real possibility that Matt wants to make a statement for the school. Either way, I'm a happy guy (if the Skins draft him, of course). |

We're under probation this year and the team's sitting at 10 (AP) in the country. Next year, we can actually play in a bowl game. There's no reason why this same team can't compete for a national championship if Barkley comes back... he had a chance to transfer (without penalty) when the school first got hit with sanctions. He's stayed through the entire drama, knowing SC couldn't play in a bowl for two years. He's got a few reasons to come back if he wanted. |
Re: 2012 QB Class
RG3 all the way. Makes plays in the clutch, look at the last two weeks against Kansas and Oklahoma. Generally makes good decisions under pressure. He can throw on the run and always keeps his eyes down field. Can make plays with his feet alone. His mobility would help the oline situation much like Vick does in Philly and is a much better pocket passer than Vick was coming out of college. Accurate passer with good mechanics though the ball does seem to wobble a bit too frequently, but that is okay when it is consistently on the numbers/over the shoulder. My biggest concerns for him are he doesn't seem to always read the defense over the middle well. also he doesn't work from under the center but since all his other mechanics are good I'[m sure he can figure that one out. Look at his game against Oklahoma here
Robert Griffin III vs Oklahoma 2011 - YouTube I am not sold on Barkley one bit. His play against Oregon was spotty. A few great throws yes but two dropped snaps and one where he tried to throw after picking it up and pretty much hit an Oregon player in the numbers, luckily it was dropped. Looked alot like a bad Romo and Grossman game. He can see all his throws here Matt Barkley vs Oregon 2011 - YouTube judge for yourself. |
