Now you're getting it. Wait, what??? |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
Four of the top-QBs selected in the 2011 draft were picked in the first half of the draft (Newton 1st, Locker 8th, Mallet 10th, and Ponder 12th overall). Andy Dalton followed being selected 35th overall, in the 2nd round. It seems like a shortage of "elite" talent to go around in this year's draft. Still, only a few teams will need to reach for a QB in the first round as they'll have prospects that play other positions rated higher on their draft boards. The Skins are in a good position to get one of the top three QB prospects having leverage to trade down from 6th overall since there is a perceived "dropoff" in talent when comparing Luck and Griffin III to fill in the blank.
Since when was Ryan Mallett drafted 10th overall? |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
Guy just confused him with Gabbert.
I am glad we did not get that kid. We would have been worse off with him at QB and no Kerrigan. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
As far as RGIII being undersized he is bigger than both Vick and wait for it... Drew Brees. I bet alot of people thought he was to small to play in the NFL too, but he has broken passing records and won a SB. SO maybe size isn't all it is cracked up to be. Besides 6'2" and 215 is not that small.

He's listed at 6-2 but I've heard he's barely over 6 feet. Guess we'll find out for certain at the combine. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
Guess so. I'll be honest his size does bother me.
Also TBH I don't know what to expect when we line up and play our next regular season game. As a Redskins fan I have never known us to have a franchise QB. Yes I was around back when we won the SBs but as we all know back then we did it with three different guys. SO I have no faith in the fact that we will get a franchise QB. Other than I guess Joey T and that was a long time ago, I have not seen the Skins with that kind of QB in the 33 years I have been alive. So with that said, if the FO feels there is a player like that available, then go out and get him because it would be nice to have a player like that on our team. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
#6 will belong to the Rams. We'll be drafting RGIII at #2.

Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
What about Tyrann Mathieu? Hes almost a guarentee Pro Bowl CB.
We need talent. We should try an offensive weapon thru Free Agency. I like VJ i think hed be a good Skin. Talent comes with an ego at that position, few at that position dont who are standouts. And we could use a standout in the pass game regardless what QB we have hell need help. |
If the Rams are smart, their new head coach would see all their holes on their team and trade with us, we'd give them Jamal Brown and DeAngelo Hall, swap picks and give them I dunno a couple picks like our 3rd and 4th this year and 2nd and 3rd next year and they will definitely be in position to get Johnathan Martin or Riley Reiff Tackles from Stanford and Iowa, we get RG3.
I sure hope we dont do this. We would be giving up to much. |

Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
I think that who we draft at #6 may depend on who we sign in Free Agency. If we sign Matt Flynn then I think we may just trade down and load up on more draft picks.
The fact that so little information has come out of Redskins Park about the Redskins' possible interest in Flynn tells me that the Skins might be more interested in him than we know. When Mike Shanahan drafted Cutler for Denver, Shanahan gave little indication beforehand of his interest in Cutler. As for the young QB's in the draft, I see little difference in the skill sets of RGIII and Tannehill. The primary difference, to me, is that RGIII throws a better deep ball than Tannehill. The other difference between the two, in regard to the draft, is that we wouldn't need to move up to get Tannehill, as we would with RGIII. That would cost us draft picks. To me, at this stage of our rebuild, we need all of the draft picks we can get, so I think I would target Tannehill instead of RGIII. Also, I'm not yet convinced that either St. Louis or Minnesota would move out of the #2 and #3 slots with Blackmon and Kalil on the board unless they received a bounty of picks to do so and I don't think we're in a position to offer one of those teams what it would take to move up. To answer the question about what to do with the #6 pick: First, sign Matt Flynn and Dwayne Bowe in FA. Then, in the draft, trade down from #6 and pick up another 2nd Round pick. Load up on Big Uglies (OL and DL), DB's, and ILB's, and draft a developmental QB. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
Here is what the Falcons paid to move up 21 spots last year:
In exchange for getting the sixth pick, Atlanta gave the Browns five -- five! -- draft picks: their 1st- (27th overall), second- (59th) and fourth-round (124th) picks this year and their first- and fourth-round picks in 2012. I would be happy to secure RG3 by trading up to the 2nd overall pick in exchange for our 6th overall pick, our 3rd round pick, our 4th round pick and next year's 1st round pick. If possible? |
For my man SF

I am just looking forward to watching him finish out his first career, and hoping he will continue to be the great player and leader he is for a few more years. Would be curious to know whether he is thinking of coaching someday. |

I can guarantee fletcher is gonna coach somewhere, and college seems to be a perfect fit for his personality, but who knows.

At #6 the Skins pick.....
Michael Floyd- WR Notre Dame 6-3, 224lbs, SR, 40 time: 4:54. 2nd RD the Skins pick.... Brandon Weeden- Oklahoma State 6-4, 218lbs, rSR, 40 time: 4:92. In FA the team makes a big push for Flynn. |

Yay! nothing makes me more excited then over-drafting a trouble-some drunk driving twice over idiot with my 6th pick. And then getting a system QB that is older than Aaron Rodgers, with 0 nfl experience!!!
You should be the new GM of the Colts! |

Why would we pick him at 6? If he's our guy (which I hope he isn't) we could trade down into the teens or early 20's to get him. No point in reaching. |

At this point in time you could put together a Mock Draft as accurate as this....

Heck we had the best corner in the game at one point. I want to not only get to the playoffs, but have the ability to win games when we get there and if it comes down between trying to shoot for RGIII and a safe bet like Tyrann Mathieu I'll take the potential franchise QB everytime. |
