I imagine they were working all three simultaneously and Royal was odd man out. We did the same thing last june if I remember right. We wanted options at WR and we got some for RGIII to work with. Royal is probably moving on.

Interesting. Considering the impending cap charge, I was expecting them to backload the contract not frontload it. You can always backload a contract, so this would mean the Skins [B]chose[/B] to frontload it. Seems to suggest the Skins are really not afraid of this cap charge BS. Or maybe they think they can delay it until 2013, so they want to bank a lot of $ in 2012 to soften the blow next year.

Its a toss up cause I know (I've actually met Royal before) that Eddie loves the Redskins and is a hometown kid from Westfield High School. Plus he's working with the head coach that got the most out of him years ago. Pretty sure he's a skins fan too and his buddy Evan Royster is on the team.

But the money is always a factor and he may not want to be the 2-3 WR at best on this team. I think we end up with him, but not for as little as we would have had him before.

so, we got at least 2 WRs, which is probably enough... still waiting on some cap # confirmations.

i think paul is gone if royal signs, gaffney stays (cause he's making basically $0), moss is 50/50 due to age, but i still believe he can play.

I'd like to see hank/garcon/morgan as our 3 WRs w/ gaffney and whoever as our depth. I don't think we can afford to pay moss or royal/etc big money to be a #4, and hankerson will never get better playing so few snaps a game.

so, eric wright (CB), eric winston (RT - YES!), fletcher, maybe a safety and then a draft full of OL/DBs.


also, i believe you can name multiple guys as post june 1 cuts. the nflpa didn't like how guys missed out on FA money due to somewhat arbitrary accounting rules, so you don't have to wait if you're only ditching a few guys (don't know if it's 1 or 3 or whatever).

Seriously. Morgan and Garçon we're 6th rounders. Would be nice to be the team that drafts these guys for a change instead of the team grasping in free agency.

Would rather get guys that outperform their contracts.
