Can you say with certainty Zimmerman's didnt follow him repeatedly? We have Trayvon say he lost him, you have Zimmerman say he lost sight of him. Couple that with Zimmerman following him, saying "they always get away" and the fact that Trayvon ended up in a body bag you can make the case for repeated stalking.
If you say so. I would suggest that the activity here is not what was contemplated Without looking into further, I readily admit I may be wrong. At the same time, I don't think you have the "malicious intent" aspect. I know you're convinced Zimmerman was out to hurt Martin - but, perhaps, he was just trying to make sure he knew where he was going. Following someone is not the same as stalking them. |

I am fairly certain that I would not set bar at the lower threshold of manslaughter if I were convinced Zimmerman was guilty. I am also fairly certain that aggravated stalking can't be taken of the table. This guy is out there strapped and profiling people he doesn't know. |

Remember how people thought the video showed no signs of a altercation? Apparently that wasn't true.
There was no obvious sign of any injury to Zimmerman's head or face on the video until it was enhanced. But the enhanced video does not show any visible injury to Zimmerman's nose, nor any signs of blood on his shirt.

The initial police report noted that Zimmerman was bleeding from the back of the head and nose, and his lawyer later claimed that Zimmeran suffered a broken nose. After receiving medical attention at the scene of the shooting, it was decided that he was in good enough condition to travel in a police cruiser to the Sanford, Fla., police station for questioning. He did not check into the emergency room following the police questioning.
So much evidence out there we don't know about or evidence that conflicts with stories. Looks like we are going to have to wait this one out. |

I absolutely detest the public media and how they've covered this case. They continue to make Trayvon's appearance as it was years ago, and not the Trayvon that was current. It's obvious to what they are doing and it's a shame a man could be convicted just off of public cries due to the influence they get from the media. If the DA has enough evidence to counter Zimmerman's story, then by all means they need to proceed with a trial and arrest. From the sounds of it, this seems like a DA bending to public cries much like the Duke Lacrosse rape scandal. We all saw how that turned out. |

Re: Trayvon Martin Case
Ultimately it doesn't matter how anyone "looked". At the same time, if you can't see the media spin and how they came out full bore on the race issue in this matter, I think you're denying some other realities. The photos chosen were clearly done with the intent of maximizing sympathy for Martin and for demonizing Zimmerman.
From the initial characterization of Zimmerman as white (modified to White Hispanic - a term I have never seen before and doubt I will ever see again), the choice of photographs, the editing of the 911 tape, it is clear the media had an agenda. It was an agenda that served no one well - but it sure sold a lot of papers and air time. |

The second guy definitely would send flags up to any neighborhood where the tenants aren't dressed as such. They are wanting to paint this image of a kid who had no reason to be profiled (which is probably not the true) and was merely shot because he was black. That isn't the case. The truth of it is Trayvon was profiled because of his attire, and was shot because the guy following him was a overzealous asshole that took the law into his own hands even though he was told to back off. Just report the news and stop with the agendas. Especially ones that could send a community into a race riot. |

Are they arresting him because they have evidence, or they just arresting him to appease the public and pushing for a guilty verdict regardless of evidence? Not sure I understand how there wasn't evidence prior, but not magically there is?

Re: Trayvon Martin Case
^^ Again, I think a lot of this is driven by the Self-Defense immunity law (not the Stand Your Ground law). Perhaps they have gathered more evidence that is, as of yet, unknown to the public.
I want to know where this guy is going to get a jury of people who have not already reached a conclusion in the matter. |

I think if there is not enough evidence to convict him but he is found guilty I might riot in my neighborhood. I could burn down some kids fort, knock over a few bikes and raid a lemmonaid stand. If I feel real crazy I may even stomp on a neighbors garden.

I think it's the latter in this case. I honestly doubt we see a conviction if there's no new evidence. |

Feel like even if he doesn't get convicted in federal court, they'll probably take him to civil court for wrongful death. Don't see how he can't get convicted there. |
Re: Trayvon Martin Case
Even in a wrongful death case, he still has the affirmative defense of self-defense. AND, if that defense is upheld in the criminal case, I am pretty sure it would be an effective bar to the civil claim under the doctrine of res judicata.
Also, this is a State charge. The Feds could charge him separately on a civil rights charge. |
