Is Brandon Marshall a cancer?

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
I wouldnt get Talib this year, Id wait to see how things pan out with his attempted murder charge. I would actually concentrate next year on Ryan Clady when he b/cs a free agent over Talib

You know.....I'm thinking if I need to wait and see how my potential employee's murder charge pans out.....maybe I don't need him. |

And if the Ravens thought that, they wouldn't have a Hall of Fame linebacker on their hands, and would not have won SuperBowl XXXV. Different players, but same principle - R.Lewis - indicted for murder 1/2000 - Super Bowl MVP 1/2001 |

- R.Lewis - indicted for murder 1/2000 - Super Bowl MVP 1/2001[/quote] I would think each case is different. Before everything went down with Ray Lewis, he had already achieved superstar status. Aqib Talib has only achieved decently talented corner status. On top of that, Ray Lewis didn't have Goodell as his commish, and guilty or not Talib is probably already facing a nice suspension for his off-the-field transgressions. |

Team cancer yeah. He's always in the news in a negative way. |

A reporter I trust down here in Miami says that in his 15+ years covering the Dolphins, Marshall was the single most selfish player he'd ever seen or covered. Very good talent but he's a team killer. |

I think all the Skins supposedly did was inquire about him. I think if he doesn't go to jail and gets a small suspension from Goodell or none at all then a late round draft pick wouldn't be bad. The article even says the Skins can sit back and wait. If he doesn't go to jail then heck I'd give a late round draft pick even if he had to sit out some this year, give him a strict contract with an out if he gets into trouble and I'd be fine with that. |

Perhaps the Patriots offered him more money than the Redskins did, but his heart was in Washington. The Redskins have the right players in place on both sides of the ball to make at least 5 straight playoff appearances. This Redskins team is like a time bomb waiting to explode. Hightower strongly believes championship caliber football is on the way. |

Here is the link to Talib's case being dropped. Honestly, I would be real happy to get him.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
Goodell will still suspend him. He has suspended non-convicted men before.
He'll either cite the "personal conduct policy" or just use his current line saying "Talib violated the spirit of the law". |

Although who knows, with the ego Mara has, he might try to suspend Talib before Goodell would probably step in and tell Mara not to do his (Goodell's) job. |

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
Figured that would clear things up.
Seeing it is actually a little disappointing to me. I was hoping he would make the rounds un-signed and re-sign with us for depth. Hopefully he won't make some retarded sick play against us next year. IMO I see the Eagles and 'Boys trying to improve their secondary anyway they can in expectation of RGIII and an improved offense. |

Would be real nice to see him line up with D.Hall and J.Wilson with the QBs in our division. Would instantly make our defense real competitive - at least on paper. Of course, we'd have to lock his doors so trouble doesn't come to him. DC is an easy place to breed trouble. |

just as long as talib leaves his douchebaggery in tampa.

Guys like him and Owens are like steroids. IE you shouldn't plan on taking them for long periods of time because it's usually not long before the side effects outweight the beneifts. |

It would have been ideal to see Atogwe sign with the Vikings seeing as though Mike Singletary is his father-in-law and coaches the linebackers in Minnesota. I never thought Atogwe would land in Philly. |

Atogwe is done.

He won't though. They just signed a roster liability. |

|
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
Our starting safety. :D
Merriweather and Cedric Griffin too, but no one said we fixed the position. Our current safeties are just as injury-prone and possibly done as O.J., but at least we loaded up with a lot of them...hopefully someone can play 16, or get 16 games from some combination of them. I still think Barnes should be moved to FS. Chase Minnifield is an exciting prospect who could win the nickel CB job. |

Obviously less done than Atogwe to our FO |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
Our defensive backfield is to the 2012 team what the quarterback position was to the 2011 team - the Backup Barn.
We have lots of bodies back there, some who maybe marginal starters, former starters who may or may not still be good enough to start, some who may have talent but nobody that will force an offense to alter their game plan. It's a journeyman bunch who's best player may be D. Hall - - and that's a scary concept to me. Hopefully, it works out but I have visions of broken coverages and lots of plays where our DB's are chasing after opposing WR's. |
