the closeup at :24-:26 of the fake handoff is amazing. Just how is a defender even supposed to be able to react to that?

Theres not much anyone can do with how he hides it in the RB stomach for so long. I love at the 2:55 mark where one of the Vikes def coaches is asking the D-line what to do and Williams responds that he doesnt know and that he is lost out there.

Re: Kudos to RG III

Griffin said that as his season has progressed, the game has already begun to slow down for him.

Asked where he has seen the most improvement in his game, he said, “Just throwing everything when I’m supposed to throw it, and getting to my check-downs when I’m supposed to get to my check-downs. I think I’m doing a better job of managing that part of the offense. But that comes through hard work, through game-time reps, just knowing where to go with the ball. Everything’s clearing up. Every game that goes by, things are clearing up, and that’s something I’m excited about for the future.”

This is definitely good to hear. Work ethic and smarts, plus that wicked crazy athletic ability. Things are definitely looking up for the Skins. All I have to say is run out of bounds or slide when you need. Because if hes around for a decade or more, we are in for a very fun ride.

"Hi Kyle and Elizabeth,
Kudos to you for getting the agenda building process off to a great start. The orientation video and your work to populate the initial agenda template are great time savers and have effectively jump started the process.

Well done! Thanks!!

Frank"

and hail to the griff! he is absolutely amazing, couldn't ask for much more form him.

He has made us proud for sure. If we dont win more than five games this year we might be a laughing stock with a great qb. Such a huge measuring stick sunday. God i hate the giants being a skins fan in jersey. I - we - need this win.

Is it becoming almost racist that people only compare Griff to Vick and Cam? I dont mean people on this board but the media. Isnt Aaron Rodgers a mobile qb with a grea arm? Jeez. I understand the Cam thing because he took the league by storm just last year but other than speed is Vick anything like RG-3?

Lazy is a better word. Just heard Jaworski on Mike and Mike bring up Cam and Vick and was like oh come on already with the Vick comparisons.

After seeing 7 games so far I think it's safe to say we have a true super star in the making. The only thing I worry about is the Redskins braintrust messing this kid up and changing coaches/offense around every other year. Let this kid grow and continue to mold this offense around him.

I think Steve Young is probably the best analog, in that he was a very mobile, accurate and intelligent passer. While the comparisons with Vick are tiresome, from a purely physical (size, speed, arm strength) standpoint I can at least see them. But Cam, I don't see any similarities.

I think with Cam its because he is a running qb also. More so though he took the league by storm last just last year. You are rite though the comparisons are getting tiresome. Truth is nobody reminds me of Griff but Griff.

RG3 on espn today. They said that after 7 weeks he is number one in completion % and yards per pass. Only two rookies in history have finished the year number one in both. One was our old friend Sammy Baugh. They didnt say who the other one was. Pretty impressive that he is there after 7 weeks though.

Greg Cook, whose injury paved the way for Bill Walsh's West Coast Offense

I know Walsh was the OC for Cincy at that time. Why did his injury pave the way?

JoeRedskin 10-23-2012 10:07 PM

Because they were then stuck with Virgil somebody who didn't have the arm Cook did. So to compensate for the the QB's weak but accurate arm, Walsh (and Bill Johnson) created an offense to spread the ball around on short routes. The 3 step drop game was born.

I would have wagered that the back up had a weak arm. That is some interesting stuff. Thanks guys.

I think analysts have finally wised up to this as well. I've seen a few say that you can't compare Griffin to anyone because he's so unique.

Yeah most people forget that Walsh got his start in Al Davis' vertical offense and that was the plan for Greg Cook in Cincy

Now that right there is funny.

RG3 is the man. He is the franchise QB. He is a top 10 NFL QB. End of story.

Side note, I am SOOO happy now that Matt Barkley did NOT declare for the draft, because who knows what would have happened. Glad we got our guy; aka the right guy.

Re: Kudos to RG III

I thought we had heard some inside rumblings that weren't necessarily public about RGIII being the choice regardless if Barkley came out or not. I see Barkley being as good as the other USC QBs over the last 12 years. Basically serviceable but not good enough to elevate talent around them and compensate for not having a perfect roster.

Sanchez, Liehnert, and Palmer. Not exactly world beaters, and definitely not players I would spend what we did to get them.

I'll say that I, for one, was not as confident with the intel that we were strongly after RG3...but confident that we weren't remotely interested in Barkley.
