Russell Wilson is going to get the nod I hate to say. Beating teams like the Patriots and the 49ers is a bit more impressive, esp coming from a player not drafted in the first round.
Sent from my GT-P5113 using Tapatalk 2
Wilson has much better stats than Luck too. ROY goes: 1.RG3 2. Wilson 3. Luck Wilson has the 7th or 8th highest passer rating in the league. Very impressive |
Have you bother to watch any of the Colts games? I love RGIII but hate the fact that people think he's the only great rookie QB. The Colts sucked last year and cleaned house, that is a young team. Check their # of draft picks.
Luck is good but it's hard to look past all the turnovers when comparing him to RG3 and Wilson who both have significantly less, especially RG3 who has 26 total TDs and only 5 INTs. That's just nuts. I agree with what someone said earlier that the ROY race should be between RG3 and Wilson more than anything. |
The colts won two games last year & that matters why? The Chiefs were 4-12 in 2009 & 10-6 in 2010. These type of turn arounds happen every year. The colts may regress & win 5 games next year.
We are just a few years removed from 4, 5 and 6 win seasons. The #6 pick was ours last year. In fact I would not have bet on us beating the Colts last year. It's not like Shanny didn't clean house in the same way the Colts did. So, the argument of winning more games is a wash to me when comparing Luck vs. Griffin. Would everyone consider Grossmans 2011 stats worthy of any award? Compare Lucks stats this year through 15 games to Grossmans 13 in 2011. |

I have watched some, not a lot, I am pretty sure we a are a young team too from our offensive starter point of view. I don't think its all rg3, wilson impressed me in the bears ot win. Luck in my view only has been 3rd best at qb |
Re: Around The NFL...Week 16 Style
Wilson was amazing last night against a very good San Fran D. I knew he was a good QB, I had no clue he could step on a national stage against a top 5 D and dominant.
He made Carlos look bad, who does that? |

Most people (on here) are actually saying that there are two legit OROY's Griffin and Wilson. This has nothing to do with who we think is a great rookie QB anyways, it's about weighing which offensive player deserves the award more, and just by looking at the stats the picture gets pretty clear. |

That tells me the Colts lack a running attack (no Morris or Lynch). More passing attempts more INT's. Luck has 4183 yards passing 254 rushing, 26 TD's 21 passing 5 rushing 18 INT's 8 fumbles. No one comes close to RGIII 750 rushing yards just like no one comes close to Luck's passing yards. The award will go to whoever takes their team deeper into the playoffs. Could be Wilson. |

Given how close the race is, I think you may be right. Whoever makes the most playoff noise likely will win. |
Tebow could still make the switch to TE and continue to run some wildcat. I don't think he has the speed to be a RB and I don't see him blocking well enough to be a FB.
Tim Tebow should make the switch to H-back. If not that then I'm certain he can be placed on special teams as a gunner. |

I could be wrong but I think it's a regular season award. Votes may already be taken before the playoffs start. |
How bout the Broncos with 10 straight
They play in the weakest division and havent really beaten anybody. Ten in a row is impressive but i bet they dont make it to the champ game. Best three teams they played - NE, Hou, and Atl and they lost all three. They did beat Cincy n Balt but i still think they are overrated. |

no that is correct. ballots will be cast after our game next week. not announced till right before the superbowl though. SFRedskins. Do you think if Griffin or Wilson threw it 200 more times they would have no more tds and 13 more ints? that's basically what you are saying by emphasizing how many more passes he has thrown. Griffin and Russell both have over 60% completion rates and 6+ yds per attempt, so while they haven't thrown as much, there is no reason to believe they would be as inaccurate as luck has been. I also don't know much about the seahawks receivers but I know that our same group of receivers struggled with other passers. the thing is I, and most others that I have seen saying luck doesn't deserve it often acknowledge both griffin and wilson do, but luck supporters only grudgingly seem to give credit to the other two, even they don't ever refute the reasons for griffin and wilson are in the running. |
I agree, people don't give much credit to Luck when he deserves it. I think the award will go to whoever advances deeper into the playoffs. Wilson has the better team and chance.
I would not be mad if Luck wins it. He plays in a more pass happy aggressive offense than RG3 or Wilson, therefore he will have more turnovers. For the most part he has played up to the hype. |

Luck may very well win the award...but I would be surprised if he does seeing as though RG3 has won rookie of the week more than any rookie this season. |

Remember Luck does not have the luxury of a nice running game like the skins/seahawks and 4 rookie receivers. Give credit where credit is due. Skins and seahawks have experienced receivers. |
Luck has the better 1WR than any of those teams though . I agree luck is legit though and he has zero running game so he has to throw that much

If you average things out, RGIII would still have less INT's even if he trough twice as many times as he has this season. Luck deserves all the praise in the world but I'm not gonna say he deserves the award over the other two because his team was bad last year. |

What's odd is luck doesn't have many commercials or any for that matter and doesn't seem real marketable. Usually number 1 picks have a few spots here and there.

Re: Around The NFL...Week 16 Style
8-1 with him 1-5 without him. If he brings 8 wins to our team I would pay him 75 mil of Dan S money. What the hell do we care, we don't write his checks. He is earning his cash. He has been very productive when healthy. Did you guys see the stat that we have 4 WRs with over 500 yards? Been awhile since that happened.

Also we are averaging 5 more points with Pierre on the field. |

The guys on wxrisk called the snow that we had today in WV and MD while the national weather service waited till there was 2inches on the ground in the eastern panhandle of WV to declare a winter weather warning. These guys are good and use different models and are usually more accurate than the NWS.
