I think the Redskins should bring in Eric Winston for a visit. The market has cooled on him and maybe they can swing a deal for a perfect fit. You can carry all 4 tackles through camp then cut 2 before the start of the season.
I agree, but they still probably won't do it having wasted money on Trueblood pashos and Polumbus.

Cutting Pashos and Trueblood will cost something like 65-75 thousand. The guaranteed money on those signings is token money at best. It amounts to nothing when dealing with the numbers that are thrown around in the NFL. The Trueblood and Pashos signings will not stop anything from happening if Shanny and BA want it to happen, there is not enough money involved in cutting them.

No your right, but I don't seem them walking into training camp with 5 RT's.

I could see it. It's the Shanny way - when he doesn't have the resources to get "his guy," he brings in many wannabes and lets the cream rise to the top. Remember when we had 1,000 WR's in camp a couple of years ago?

our when he drafted 4,000 corners in the 3rd round (in denver, it was actually 3).

he got a good starter out of it though, so it worked out there.

Yeah why not? A couple of those guys will get work at LT too.

True that dc. I remember they were fighting over stokelys old ass and Galloway. And everyone here was like GREAT which of them are gonna play tackle or OL?

I still think that Winston is a dolphin in time. They have cap space. His bro is a scout for them. They lost jake long so their RT last year johnathan Martin will move to LT.

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013 Part II

Uh I don't know how good Tapp is as special teamer but he wouldn't replace Alexander as ILB. Even the article said that Tapp is probably a replacement for Rob Jackson during his suspension

Serious, the dude can get to the QB. He was good in Seattle and at V. Tech. He has been a starter before and I think in the right situation will be good here.

That is one writters opinion. He is better than many think.

John Keim seems to think (I was tweeting with him:) that Fred Davis will be back. Just trying to create leverage.

How about this: Darryl Tapp > the void Lorrenzo Alexander left when he signed with the cards = UPGRADE

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013 Part II

Darryl Tapp an upgrade over Alexander? Are you kidding me? Alexander was asking too much, but he was a Pro Bowl special teamer. Hey, maybe he'll get 10 sacks next season and prove me wrong.

Fred cancelled the trip to NY. It's between us and the Bills. My fingers are crossed. I love him in our offense.

True

@TKextremeskins: Sorry Bills, but Skins are offering Davis about a million more when its all said and done, plus its a short one year deal.

He wants to ball out next year & then hit the road for a paycheck which will = a drop in performance as well.

What I read from nfltweeter.com from Russellmania and Johnkiem is that they are offering him a 2yr deal worth a million more.

He would probably end up better off with a one year deal from the Skins. If he proves that he is fully recovered from his injury and puts up big numbers in 2013, then he should be able to get his big payday in 2014.

Based on what I've read about his off the field behavior, I trust him to make the wrong decision.

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013 Part II

Honestly at the begining of the offseason I was all for this guy resigning.

Now, I think we can spend the money on the defense and save our cap space for players who deserve it both on and off the field.

In today's NFL you are better off getting a draftee to come in bust his ass for a few years for you then giving a paid day to some other team's draftee that wants to get paid when he hits FA.
