Re: The Good News Thread
Mixed bag but end of the day good news:
Got a call at 8am from my 17yo daughter - Dad the police are here and you gotta come home now. Me. What happened i ask (as i feel like an impending heart attackis in progress ) Daughter - a car drove through our fence and is in our yard. From that start: my dog got out and so i spent a day back and forth searching on a code red heat day for a dog that struggles on 80 degree days. At 4 went into work and at 530 the good news that she was found. She is hurt but alive and we have her back so bottom line this makes it into the good news section. Re: The Good News Thread
Is the driver ok?
Hopefully the dog has a speedy recovery. |

I feel for you but more for your daughter,I know her pain.I was 19 and the parents had gone away I had to work so I was alone in the house.Driver was speeding and left the road right thru the street sign ,our Flag pole, our front yard and stopped in our backyard tearing the living hell out of the lawn. This was mid 70's no cell phones,so the Police come and take the driver (DUI) and car but while filling out the report the Police had me sitting in the car with the two of them so I was in the back seat, yup, Mom and Dad came home just as I was in there signing off on the accident. My Mom later told me as they were driving up the only thing my Dad said was ...I am going to kill him!!! Sorry for the rant, glade it all worked out. |

Re: The Good News Thread
Also xrays on my puppy showed zero damage so she gets puppy codeine for a few days to ease her pain.

Re: The Good News Thread
Finally sold a rental property of mine. I will never be a landlord again; didn't have any horror stories but it was not for me. Happy to be done with it.

I'm trying to sell mine. I won't that debt gone. I've got muscle cars to buy, LOL! (well, matchbox cars for my kid!) |
Re: The Good News Thread
Congrats guys, I'm happy for you.
In personal news I passed my ASE cert test for the P2 (automotive parts specialist) which will get me a slight pay bump at my job and also open me up for promotion, so yay. |

Re: The Good News Thread
Damn! Nice, congrats all.
I have a really fucked up story that could have easily started off in The Bad News Thread, but deserves to be in here now. The tl;dr of it is, a few months ago, the police came and took my stepdad for questioning. The problem? My nine year old nephew accused him of sexual assault. My brother died almost eight years ago in a car accident, so the mother moved away. Went fucking insane. Has taken a huge toll on the family after numerous hearings, etc. Also brought a lot of questions from my dad's side asking, "Did he do anything to you while you were a kid?" The answer is a resounding FUCK NO, not once. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, no charges will be brought if they agreed to no contact. It's bittersweet, but I can see the stress out of my stepdad's face now. Will post the long version when I get some time, but basically one really fucked up person (the mother) hurt a LOT of people in our family just trying to stop visitation. |

Yeah that's seriously messed up. Sounds like the mom got the kid to falsify some info to throw the dad in prison. Glad it all worked out, at least in the sense of having one guy's life totally ruined by false accusations. I know the no contact situation sucks but it's better than the alternative. Also thanks guys on the congrats. |
Re: The Good News Thread
Congrats to everyone. Nice to hear ppl are making that money.
TMC sorry to hear about your brothers passing, glad to hear your step fathers situation didnt end in the worst possible scenario. Almost makes my good news seem trivial but I bombed a ball over the 250 yard fence at the driving range the other day. Almost. |

Congrats to everyone glad to see the good news thread, rocking. I have always considered this my internet family.
Love ya guys! (in a non-gay way but if that offends then I love you in a gay way) =) |

The Good News Thread
And congrats mooby, malcolm, C-red, and OTM. I hit a solid 250 yarder on the course the other day. Straight down the middle of the fairway. It was an outing we do every year for our friend who was murdered. So we were playing best ball. It was the only drive of mine we used all day [emoji19]
But it was a beauty [emoji44] |

“Why 2017 Was the Best Year in Human History” Really good article here. While majority of the media constantly focuses on a negative shit and even bullshit these days, progress goes unnoticed it seems. |

I will agree. I just want to know if the article includes Puerto Rico? |

Why would extreme poverty stats from Puerto Rico be excluded? Jesus Christ, where were all these crying babies about Puerto Rico when its politicians were corrupt, stealin money from its own people and sending that country into an economic mess? Christ, does anybody understand this? Why don't you hold these political leaders of Puerto Rico accountable? |

Re: The Good News Thread
So I got promoted, I'm now a P2 which is basically a counterman with additional responsibilities. Small raise which is always nice. Big thing is I have to switch to day shift from 530am to 2, which will be an adjustment at first, but I'll do it. I'm thinking about good wake-me-up meals because I don't drink coffee or soda. If anybody has suggestions I'm all ears, my current breakfast typically consists of a cup of a yogurt at 10 or 11 am lol.
