I'm with Snyder 100% on this one.

Lavar's the most overpaid overhyped player in Skins history (and we've had a bunch). Snyder paid the guy tens of millions of dollars and he couldn't even play his position properly....freelancing dumbbell.

Luckily we drafted the anti-Lavar in the same draft (Samuels). Big mouth Lavar got all the hype and attention, while CS went about his business quietly and professionally. Not surprisingly CS was 10 times the player Lavar ever was.

When I see LA on NFLN I have to change the channel immediately, and in hindsight I feel bad that Aikman's career was ended prematurely by this dork.

It's time for DS to "get em".

I dont see why this bothers DS at all? Who cares? For one, Lavar was introduced in the stadium as one of the 70 greatest Redskins. Also maybe it will turn some kids into Redskins fans and they will buy some merch? Free advertising. Whatever you think of Lavar as a player or a personality he isnt some thug that you dont want your teams image tied to? I dont get it.
Edit: on top of that Dan Snyder isnt exactly associated with Redskins greats last time I checked. Lol.

I agree as well. The way weed is trending I don't think this will be a huge issue in a decade or so. But for now, Josh Gordon is the stupid one. Just a crazy dumb decision considering the year he had last year. This will hurt him physically and financially. Who even knows if he will come back the same player?

He used his talent exceptionally well, I mean there was alot of mud flung back and forth, people saying he couldn't learn schemes etc., but when it came down to it, he had a degenerative knee problem and that's what ended his career ultimately. If anything I feel bad for the guy that he got injured.
Our defense played better without him. Lavar couldn't function in the Gregg Williams gap-control scheme. It went beyond numbers, you gotta be a team player for the good of the defense. Fletch and Daniels and others shined, Lavar Arrogant wasn't a team player.

It was Gordon's 3rd offense, not second.

It's not just about getting caught smoking weed, it's about not following the rules that 99.5% of the players can without any problems. Cooley has said on his show, that everyone knows when the tests are coming. So most players just stay clean for the test, and go back to normal after. Until proven otherwise I'm going to call Manziel, Johnny Leaf instead. I'm pretty sure all you guys have seen the pictures from last night where he got absolutely smashed

Honestly it just reminds me so much of the Ryan Leaf stories from back when he was drafted.
But Leaf showed up for the scouting combine overweight and claimed that he’d be heading off to Las Vegas if he was taken first overall. Manning, meanwhile, told the Colts that he’d spend the next fifteen years kicking their butts if he went anywhere else, and Polian and Mora wisely selected Manning. Leaf was the NFL’s most incendiary bust, while Manning is on his way to his third Super Bowl — not with the Colts, but it’s safe to say that the organic choice of Manning turned Indy’s franchise around.
IIRC the impression of Leaf at his introductory press conference in San Diego among the media was that he was clearly hung over.

Now I'm not against partying but dammit don't do it the night you get drafted at a place where people you clearly don't know or shouldn't trust are going to take pictures of you getting hammered then sell them off to TMZ. Granted I'm not an expert, repeat not an expert, on addiction but I think its pretty safe to say that Manziel is a raging alcoholic. I mean you got the bar fight back in Austin, missed the Manning passing camp session because he was hungover, and then theres actually this pretty awesome story from his High School days.

Remember This About Johnny Manziel: His Dad Bought Him a New Car For Staying Away From Alcohol in High School | The Big Lead
His father made him a deal: he would buy Manziel a new car if he stayed away from alcohol during his junior and senior years in high school. One summer night, Manziel went to Wal-Mart to buy a phone charger, the security guard smelled alcohol and the police were called.
Manziel denied he had been drinking but was taken to jail. The next day, his father picked him up, sold the car and replaced it with a busted pickup truck that would repeatedly break down on the way to school. He refused to pay the fine for his son, and when the judge sentenced Manziel to 10 hours of community service, John Paul said: Make it 20.
Then of course I'm sure most of you have heard this wonderful omen:
Homeless man anecdote creates impression Haslam influenced Manziel pick | ProFootballTalk
After Cleveland moved up from 26 to 22 to get Johnny Manziel, Paolantonio explained on the air that owner Jimmy Haslam became convinced the fans in Cleveland wanted Manziel after a homeless man said to the owner, “Draft Manziel.”
Yeah as I said in another thread that even though its not an apples to apples comparison no way could you reverse that trade by offering Greg Robinson (OT), Michael Brockers (DT), Janoris Jenkins (CB), Steadman Bailey (WR), and Alec Ogletree (ILB) for RG3. The only way would be if the Skins front office had the foresight to draft Russell Wilson in 2012 which is a really far out 20/20 hindsight suggestion.

When I look at the players for the Rams the RG3 picks turned into I'm tempted to say we got a steal. Regardless if Bradford continues to improve like he did last year before the injury then the trade really will end up as a win-win.

I've kind of been saying it for years but as great as having multiple draft picks and building depth is, it means very little without a QB.

Almost like getting a really nice car with a top of the line engine, paint job, stereo, interior, etc but not having a decent alternator and starter for it. Sure the car will be great when it runs but it could easily shut down at a moments notice.

Or if you're into PC gaming like me its like getting a top of the line case, motherboard, CPU, cooling fans, 32 GB of ram, multiple high capacity SSD hard drives while getting a $100 graphics card then expecting to play Crysis 3 in 4k.

However, Hickey said James was the best available player on the Dolphins' draft board. (I have yet to see a general manager willing to admit the opposite.) James was a player Miami did extensive homework on and fits many of the characteristics the team is looking for.
If Roger Goodell is going to fine players for, well anything then I request, NO DEMAND, that a new rule be instated.

If a front office makes a day 1 or 2 draft pick that is widely considered a reach by fans and the media you can no longer just explain it as X was the best player on our board. You either admit you reached for said player or you show the 5 players before and after the guy you picked. If no list is provided or is doctored after the fact you will be required to give a one hour press conference while under the influence of sodium thiopental where no questions will be off limits.

The only loophole will be you can use the BPA response if you donate a $100,000 to a charity like St. Judes.

If fans are going to pay $1,500 for a beer and hot dog on game day then they have a right to know why their favorite team took Johnny Udefa Doe in the first round.

Agreed. I'd also like to say the same thing about the Texans. Whoever succeeds Bill O'Brien is going to have a lot of talent to work with :D

Seriously though it kind of feels like the 49ers. They did an incredible job over the years under Nolan and Singletary creating one of the leagues best supporting cast, of course without a QB the best they could hope for was to grind out 9-7 seasons and squeeze into the playoffs where they were essentially a tune up game for any team with a QB.

Then again you can't help but think if the Texans are employing the Shanahan method. If you don't love the incoming QB's get better up front, go into the season with Beck and Grossman [Fitzpatrick and Keenum] have a bad season, and then be in a position to draft someone like Luck or RG3 [Winston {SL FSU}or Marcus Mariota {QB Ore}] the following year.

Really scared though about week 1. Honestly I would much rather have faced the Texans in week 12 or later....you know about the time rookies start to hit the wall since they're not use to a season length like that of the NFL.

Posters Note: SL stands for Shoplifter.
Does anyone really think Snyder penned the cease and desist letter and mailed it out himself?
Maybe I'm overreacting but man I'm starting to get fed up with these pointless lawsuits. Honestly its stuff like this that makes people hate lawyers. Its why some kid posting a highlight film on YouTube has to worry about a record company putting in a copyright complaint to his highlight film. Or a group of gamers can't make a not for profit remake of one of their favorite childhood games in spite of the fact that the IP owners aren't doing anything with said IP.

It doesn't matter if Lavar wants to market himself as the Greatest Redskin of all time and take credit for every Super Bowl the team has ever won. Its really not worth getting lawyers involved.

I'm more then willing to give Snyder the benefit of the doubt on stuff like him not no longer meddling with football decisions but honestly this LaVar cease and desist deal reeks of the same old Snyder that 'encouraged' the Washington Post to stop using Redskins Insider and at least was somewhat responsible for the season ticket holders being sued for non-payment (not saying he set out to sue an old lady who was on the verge of bankruptcy but he did put himself in that position).

In the end Snyder either needs to hire new lawyers because they're doing stuff without his approval or he needs to stop being trigger happy with the cease and desist stuff. Right now everything the team does is heavily scrutinized with the name controversy. Why the hell are you giving the media more then enough ammo to justify portraying you as the same old tyrant?

And for Gods sake pay for the entire backhoe.

If anyone needs to send out a cease and desist letter its Drowning Pool. Serial, if I come across that song one more time my head is going to explode.

Be honest though dude, you were perhaps the most outspoken on the board against the trade when it happened based on the cost so of course you're going to feel this way. Absent a Redskins Super Bowl win and a Ram collapse, you're not going to say otherwise.

Anyone objective would say it's still far too early to fully judge the trade. All those first round picks and the Rams still haven't broken .500. We won the division & had a 3-13 season. Personally, I'll take the division title rather than a bunch of players.
