Ryan Hewitt, a second-year tight end from Stanford, is listed on the Bengals’ roster as an H-back. The Bears have a fullback listed on the depth chart, but it’s tight end Zach Miller.

I think DY's skill set will get him a vet min contract w someone this year .. im still amazed that we refused to use him more when we didnt have the TEs to run callahan's TE run scheme .. I still want answers on that one.

i don't think nelson is, because we haven't heard anything. whitner is definitely interesting, but he probably wants more money than we want to pay... the timing is bad for him though, so maybe there's some value there.

Manziel is a tool and a fool, but as far as performance on the field he has had better ones than Griff as of late. That being said neither one is the answer anywhere.

in the big scheme of things I completely agree. I think its fairly interesting in a league that looked the other way when med staffs would shoot up players with pain killers and gave players access to oral pain killers sometimes leading to addictions (hello Brett Farve), a league that sometimes looked the other way with steroid abuse, a league that likes to prop itself up with beer makers and openly touts the relationship with drinking and football is quite hypocritical.

Also weed has pain reducing qualities which can be beneficial versus heavy painkillers. Also treatment of cte and concussions have come to light: "Bennet Omalu, the doctor who discovered the first case of CTE in an NFL player and the basis of Will Smith’s character in “Concussion,” recently joined the board of a medical company researching whether marijuana could help treat brain injuries." Your beef isn't with the NFL, it's with our laws. Drinking responsibly is legal. Weed without a prescription is not, at least in almost every state.

If the US, or even a majority of states, make weed legal then you'll see the NFL remove it from the banned substance list.

As for Manziel's domestic violence situation he will definitely be punished, that's just a matter of time.

Manziel over Griffin makes no sense to me. At all.

Read several reviews of Manziel's play. It was in many ways a mirror of RGIII's both in why things went right - when he was moving and improvising - and why things went wrong - couldn't read D's, held ball too long, and failed to go through progressions or trust receivers. Beyond that, RGIII just has better physical tools than Manziel.

The only other difference is RGIII is a diva and Manziel is a douche.

No doubt Griff has better physical tools. So did Jack Lelane but he probably cant play qb. As I said neither one is the answer anywhere. However the last couple times either one stepped on the field Manziel was the better of the two. I dont care what year it was, and of course all Griff man crushes must be set aside to see that.

Please do not take this as an endorsement for Manziel. He sucks. However Griff looks like the more gun shy, indecisive, inaccurate of the two really bad quarterbacks.

30-gut. Is it really so inaccurate of me to say Manziel imo has been the better qb of the two bad ones? Over their last 9 games he has a better td/int ratio and also Griff was sacked twice as much? On top of that Griff was playing on a better team than he was. Cannot say that in many cases but surely in the case of the Browns. Listen I really do not care. I do not hate Griff. It sucks what happened to him. Imo he has looked worse than Manziel over their respective last few starts but we are splitting hairs. You have your opinion and i have mine. There are arguments to be made on either side. Seriously though since neither one will ever be relevant again to any team, let alone mine, I am through talking about it. Lol.

Breakdown: It was a solid overall performance for RG3, having success on short, intermediate, and deep targets alike. Two interception-worthy throws, one pick-six worthy at the goal line, brought his grade down considerably, though. That said, Griffin made some beautiful throws including the two deep balls to Jackson and the on perfectly thrown deep out on a 3rd-and-19 early in the second quarter that was dropped by Andre Roberts.

Signature Stat: Despite all the criticism of his ability to read defenses, Grififin’s arm still works well when given the chance. His accuracy percentage of 79.0% is third best in the NFL.

Breakdown: His 336 receiving yards look good on the surface, but dive a little deeper and you’ll see that his receivers accumulated a massive 314 yards after the catch thanks to a litany of screens and dump offs. His only completions over 20 yards came on passes to DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon behind the line of scrimmage. RG3 rarely challenged the defense, and while it’s uncertain how much of that is on Griffin and how much is on the play calling/offensive system, friction between Griffin and the coaching staff could make that a moot point by next August.

Signature Stat: Not counting his throw-aways, Griffin threw only one pass aimed over ten yards in the air, a deep shot to Santana Moss in double coverage.

– QB Johnny Manziel (-2.9) was given his fifth start of the season this week. Outside of the fumble and interception on the Browns’ final drive with the game already out of reach, Manziel did not make any dangerous mistakes. On multiple occasions, he made throws to open receivers that still could have been caught for first downs, but his inaccuracy made the receivers’ adjustments and the catches much more difficult than need be. Manziel completed just three of nine passes targeted 10+ yards downfield, and did not throw a pass targeted 20+ yards downfield prior to the final drive.

Manziel was good when he scrambled yesterday, but was bad when asked to actually throw the football. His -9.8 pass grade is one of the worst we’ve ever recorded. When the Chiefs didn’t blitz and Manziel was forced to throw into coverage, he completed just 39 percent of his passes and averaged a mere 4.4 yards per attempt. He also threw a terrible interception and had two more bad passes that should have been intercepted. He looked uncomfortable all game long, and yesterday was not a good day for those who believe he’s made any significant development as a quarterback.
