McCloughan had Rosen as his #2 QB last year behind Baker, just some FYI
If they throw in another player or a pick (i.e., 3rd round) along with Rosen, I might accept it. Still, it would be tough for me.. I suppose it all depends on how much Gruden and FO like Rosen. If they truly believe Rosen will become our long-term QB then go for it.
Rosen fits the scheme, but how long is Jay here for? I think he fits any scheme though, he’s the best pocket passer including this class. |

Thought?
I think you measure it like if he was available at 15 would you draft him in this class? I just really hope no more additional players or picks. I’m sick of the desperate trades. |
Todd Mcshay says "The redskins want Rosen and may send #15 for him"
Thought?
My thought is don't do it. 3rd rounder yes, 1st rounder no. Rosen isn't any better than Rypien is or was coming out. And he didn't do anything last year to say he's a can't miss type of player. Where is Rypien going to go? Probably somewhere in the 3rd or 4th round. Redskins need to be patient and don't do anything stupid. Dan should just tell Bruce to go pick up his dry cleaning when the front office is discussing QB's cause Bruce will do something stupid as he's done since McNabb. |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft
Per Ben Albright
“Skins and Cards are close to a deal for Rosen” UPDATE The Skins have offered a 2nd and a 2020 mid per Albright |

Rypien is a developmental QB, Rosen is ready now. It’s a win now league, I’d give up our 2nd for him |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft
I wouldn't do a number 1 unless they would send us a 2 or 3 back. I would probably do a 2. If we do a 2, then I would trade down in round 1 to try to recoup the 2.

Re: Redskins Mock Draft
ESPN’s
@JordanRaanan confirms Giants are “not in love” with Josh Rosen and will only take a shot if “price is right” (3rd-round pick). Would mean G-Men have little interest in Kyler Murray (too short), Dwayne Haskins (immobile), and now Rosen. Folks get those Rosen Jerseys ready |

For a 2nd and a future mid round pick I say go for it

It is hard to make an assessment of Doctson when the qb play and play calling has been so horrible. |

Doctson gets zero seperation....obviously he's not an option because he doesn't get open....keep in mind his 2017 stats with Cousins at QB was basically extremely similar to his 2018 stats.....it's not the quarterback or the other things you sighted....the problem is Doctson. |

Even if Gruden is gone next year, I think Rosen could play a factor in attracting some head coach candidates. While lot of coaches like to pick their own QB, Rosen is still young and can be molded into what a head coach wants out a QB. McVay and Nagy are great examples, but then they can be considered as outlier in head coach search. Redskins at this point have extremely limited QB options, and to be honest, I think acquiring Rosen could be best scenario for Redskins could ever hope for in this situation. It is not likely but I honestly could see Gruden saving his ass if we acquire Rosen and then Redskins makes it into playoff next year. Although, it would take lot of things to align together to make it happen (i.e., O-line and Reed staying healthy most of the season). |

People were getting enamored with him because he had his shirt off and it made the other wideouts look like kids. I haven't watched any tape of him but if the game highlights don't line up or he has a questionable injury history I'd pass. Size means nothing if you can't use it to your advantage. |

I think after a few years we pretty much know what Doc is. I hope I'm wrong and he has some kind of breakout season, but he just doesn't have the "it" factor. He's just a plain old Jaguar w/out the V8 engine. |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft
not bad, except Thompson was terrible this year
Thompson started good, ended poor. There about 5-6 safeties in this 3rd-4th round range that are decent prospects. Pick any you want there with that last comp pick. My strategy is put a young guy next to Collins to build a solid unit for the next 5-6 years. When you look at those Seattle defense teams...how comfortable did that front 7 play knowing they had Thomas/Kam at the rear to clean up everything. |

He may be gone, according to this article there is a chance he will be there. A prospect who has potential to sneak into the middle parts of the second round, Thornhill excels in coverage from a variety of techniques. He has a natural feel in zone for coverage spacing and working into throwing windows while also effective in man coverage where his length and physicality will serve him well working against tight ends and bigger slots. There are some matchups in the slot, mainly against quicker receivers, that could be problematic for Thornhill in man coverage but he has the physical traits to lineup with flexed tight ends and big-bodied possession receivers. Thornhill is a strong tackler and plays the game with a physical demeanor as he works through contact. He has the contact power expected for his size. He can win near the line of scrimmage and offers the traits needed to function as a box safety. |
Metcalf is a workout warrior who will likely be a flop in the NFL.
Tape and production isn't in his favor, we already have a guy that can't get off man coverage, no need to add another. Yeah he's faster than Doc but still comparable. Maybe in the right offense he can thrive but I'd rather have a polished route runner |
Plenty of people say he's not even the best WR coming out of Ole Miss.
Cooley did a breakdown on him on his latest podcast.
The take away is that he is a deep threat on first down and that's pretty much it. Bad route runner, chest catcher, looks physical but doesn't play physical, jammed easily, and was never thrown to in clutch situations. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |
