Braves are a great story. I have no use for the city therefore don't like the teams from there.
Edit: Not that I like LA either it is a trash city, but I love the old school Brooklyn Dodgers logos.
What's wrong with the city of Atlanta? |

Umm Can I say it is the home of CNN's headquarters? In reality it is just a weird personal issue. I have done a conference there for three summers. I end up at the Marriott Marquis beautiful hotel, I love Piedmont Park. However, every time I step out of the hotel there is a guy yelling at me to hold up because they want to show me something. This happens multiple times in one outing and it is such a bizarre and frustrating behavior. During my time when the person has caught up to show me something they have tried to sell me an open disposable camera for $20, a loose cigarette for a $1, a five pack of Coca Cola for $5, and a 1990s gameboy for $100, among various other miscellaneous items. I have also been propositioned to help a stranger tag team a pair of girls the next block over and once a guy that told me his sister thought I was attractive and wanted to hookup with me. While this behavior might not be unique to Atlanta it is the only city I have been to an experienced such annoying and odd requests. |

I only have been once for a couple days. But overrated was exactly the word I would use to describe it. I found the city rather boring. There isn't shit to do downtown. |

I had multiple people follow me for blocks and they kept talking and talking like we were friends. It was very unique experience to say the least. They were all friendly but being followed by anyone is always weird. |
Re: MLB thread
Astros - Braves is my pick.
Although, it will likely be the Dodgers. |
Re: MLB thread
Dodgers are fucking loaded. They can easily reel off the next 4, but winning game is 1 huge.

Re: MLB thread
Clayton Kershaw has been scratched from his NLCS Game 2 start against the Braves on Tuesday due to back spasms.
Huge news for the Dodgers. No word yet on if Kershaw is simply being pushed back a day or two, but one would think it would take something rather problematic to force him from making a postseason start. Tony Gonsolin will make the start in his place on Tuesday. !!!!! |

Huge advantage for Atlanta. TB and Atlanta off to great starts in these series. |

I thought Betts was the missing piece to the puzzle?

Re: MLB thread
SD and Chico,
As resident Braves fans I went back home to Chucktown SC to visit my moms for her birthday. SC is Braves country. The south has this weird thing they like to do with flying college flags even if they didn't go there but root for the team. Right now there are more Braves flags than Clemson flags. It has been pretty cool seeing everyone get excited. |

Never easy. Especially for fans of any Atlanta team. Lame.

Re: MLB thread
It was a great catch. Maybe even a game changer.
|
Re: MLB thread
Great nlcs...tough pill to swallow, but dodgers were the better team. I watched til the 7th last night...the play of the game besides the catch was the double play where the runner went on contact and Turner made a great play to pivot and get the runner at 3rd. Braves were setting up for a huge inning. I wish Markaisis would have bunted there.
|
Re: MLB thread
Game 1 tonight. Love the David and Goliath match up. Hope the Rays stick it to them so that means Dodgers win in 5.
|
Re: MLB thread
Let’s go Rays

I wish Markakis didn't suck. That guy can turn everything pitch into a shitty groundball. Hit it to the absolute worst place he possibly good. Excited to see Pache be our every day CF. Duvall, Pache, Acuna in the OF next year. |
Re: MLB thread
I took my glove and went home. Not watching any of the WS unless it's game 7.

The dude is unbelievable. A stud at everything. The guy wrecked the Braves on defense. |

Don't forget to grab your free Mookie tacos tomorrow!

Re: MLB thread
Dodgers win! Can't believe it's been since 1988, it seems like they're always in contention.
TACO NIGHT! |
Re: MLB thread
Cash deserves to get racked over the coals for taking out Snell. Go for Dodgers I am glad to see Kershaw finally get the Series. Long time coming. I might have to go get a taco I have never eaten Taco Bell before but hard to pass up a free taco.

+1 Never had Taco Bell before? Congrats. It's the cheapest colon cleanser on the market. When Cash pulled Snell I had flashbacks from last year's WS. He was literally dominating the Dodgers with no run support whatsoever. Cash deserves all the scorn for that move. Congrats to the Dodgers though, you can't say they didn't earn it because this was their 3rd trip in 4 years. Happy for Kershaw too, I actually felt bad for him after Rendon and Soto tagged him last year haha. Justin Turner - what a bitch move. If anybody that was on the field or a loved one that was there ends up in the hospital thanks to COVID I would be pissed that he came back out. I get it - you wanna celebrate. But you gotta think about the greater good. At the minimum wear a mask - take it off for a picture here or there and I doubt anybody would care. But telling security to fuck off when you're out there knowing you have it is a dick move. |

Yup. And enjoy your taco man. Taco Bell is good once or twice a year. |

Ended up chickening out and grabbing some beef from a local farm and making burgers instead. |

Weak ass HOF ballot. Is this the year Bonds or Clemens makes it?

Nats legend Howie Kendrick announced his retirement the other day. I remember when he was on the Phillies, he was always consistent against us and I always wondered why we couldn't get a guy like that. Little did I know how important a role he would have in bringing DC its' first MLB title. Congrats to him on a great career. |

Def a weak ballot. I'd give it to Andruw Jones and Torii Hunter, although I don't think Hunter has first-ballot worthy numbers. |

Happy trails Nick! https://www.mlb.com/orioles/news/nick-markakis-announces-retirement
Always respected his play and his attitude. |
