I don't like that either, but I would prefer one year of that and a properly vetted rebrand than a rush job. I have confidence though based on what we are hearing that we will get something that is an acceptable compromise for the fan base.

I do like Redwolves but mostly because it is the only native east coast wolf population we have. There is symbolism there that I like.

Snyder and the Redskins, especially the cheerleaders who visit bases all over the world in the offseason, have always been huge military supporters. It's really a natural move if we must bury the Native American theme.

If I was DS i'd set up a site/email address to send in suggestions. Then a poll of the top 3 based a) most suggested and b) ruling out any that would be just as contentious. Then a competition for (kids in?) the DC area to come up with a design based on the chosen name. By the time they've done all that it will be too late to change anything this season anyway and it will be a good publicity stunt to get the community involved. Set up a website for the poll/entry submissions and get FedEx to sponsor it. Kill two (red)birds with one stone...

I like this. Wolves or Red Wolves is the way to go. Plus, this or a similar logo would translate well onto a helmet or shirts.

You would think it would be a honor for teams to nickname after Native American culture .. however if they find it offensive then so be it .. I would go totally away from it and never look back .. one day a young person will ask there grandfather why did all the teams with Native American themes change ... let them explain it .. next up is the Cleveland Indians , chiefs , Braves , Blackhawks , Yankees (slur), and all the other names people find objectionable.. it’s time to move on .. at least I saw the redskins win all there super bowls!!

Agreed. It's a football team, not sure why we have to honor anything. Do anything you want off the field charity wise, that's what is truly honorable. But a team name doesn't have to be this holier than thou thing.
