Yeah, a 4th is a dream, a 5th is good. Wouldn't be surprised by lower. Haskins is like a used car now. Once you drive it off the lot, it loses most of its value. |

I still would have picked Young. I have a feeling Haskins will be gone this week. |
Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
Team needs to spin this shit. Close off practices to all media, tell them it is concern for player safety due to Covid. Give it two weeks, have a coach come out and rave about all Haskins is doing right and how is trying to improve and get the best deal we can for him. It is evident he has no support/benefactor other than Dan and that is a problem. He is not helping his case either.

Still don't think we get anything for him but this makes for an entertaining read. Something tells me Haskins wouldn't fit in the "Patriot Way" lol. |
Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
What is any team going to see on film to support a trade except for low picks? Be lucky to get more than a 3rd at this point. OTOH anything helps us more at this point than having him on the roster in the spring, including the extra roster spot. Sad its come to this.

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
This situation is bad for the team and Haskins altogether, however one good thing did come out of this. Haskins asked the team to draft McLaurin, which ended up becoming one of the best picks in WFT's history already. Yes, we wasted a 1st round pick on Haskins but the McLaurin pick made up for it, in my opinion. Now, the rookie QB next year will have an awesome WR to grow with.

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
I wouldn’t say the situation is bad...I’d go with typical and normal with this franchise.

Bye DH A damn joke
I'd call the Giants and see if they want to swap Haskins for Colt McCoy. He'd be our new starter and Jones is about to lose his job anyways, he's worse than Haskins. Daniel has 17 INTs and 22 fumbles in 18 games! |

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
If the QB field is as loaded as everyone says we shouldn't be talking about trying to trade up to the number 1 pick. Also this concept of tanking in the NFL seems crazy to me. Has there ever been a team that has tanked for a draft pick that went on to win a super bowl with that player? This isn't the NBA or NHL

Colts did it for Luck and Manning |
Colts did it for Luck and Manning
I don't think they tanked for Manning they were perennial bottom feeders in the 90s. They did tank for Luck but they never won a conference or a super bowl with him. That wasn't on him it is just the quintessential team sport. |
Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
RR isn't tanking, he's just not going all out to win, and that's the way I like it. Tanking would undermine the good players we do have left. Better to go 4-12 or 5-11, pick 2nd/3rd/4th and take the best player/deal and still have some hope that we can at least get the ship pointed in the right direction next spring. Next year he can give it more gas when he expects to be more competitive and by year 3 be in the mix and have a solid roster to cope with the vagaries of FA.

I agree. He's in a full evaluation, house-cleaning mode and while it won't be fun to watch this year, it should pay off in the future. He's not only getting rid of those without the talent, he's cleaning up the culture by not tolerating any off-the-field problem children : Dunbar, Latimer, Guice... |

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
What is going on with Haskins is kind of indicative of the generation of young athletes coming up. My son is 12 I can’t tell you how little the kids on his teams care about winning versus their personal stat line. It might just be there age but I try to teach him if you have this great stat line but your team list it don’t mean poop. The goal is the team win and your stat line is secondary. Social media drives this poor behavior and all these youth sports clubs that will tell you your kid is elite for $X.
Buckle up for more DHs coming out in the future. |
Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
I say we teach him a lesson and trade him to the Jets for a 7th-round pick.

I hope Kyle Allen can survive being unfollowed. I'm sure he's devastated. Social media is the fucking worst. It's the opposite of sliced bread.

I wondered why they wanted him out of the building after only 4 starts, now I know. |
Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
If it's true that his work ethic sucks and he's immature AF get him outta here now. Don't let this linger into the offseason trade him asap.

At some point you have to work with these guys right? Coach this kid up. Find a way to reach him. DH Is definitely a diva but he is also a young kid that got buy on talent alone. Put the kid to work and see how he responds. Giving up on a player because he unfollowed the team is stupid. Too many lazy asses on this team. Damn, I never thought I would miss marty ball but I do. Bring back the Oklahoma drill and lets sort the men from the boys. |
Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
Not giving up on him based on unfollowing people on social media, but it's a big sign of immaturity on his part. I'm talking about his work ethic, too many reports out there of him not putting in the work. Coaching up a player goes both ways. If he's not doing his part see ya.

Then someones head needs to roll for starting this fool. Rivera has talked about accountability all off season so who is accountable for this? How does an unprepared lazy 2nd year player become week 1 starter and team captain? Haskins and Rivera are two big mouths that talk the talk but don't walk the walk. They need to sort this shit out together. |

The problem with getting him out now is that nobody wants him. If WFT knows his work ethic sux and he's immature so does every other team. Maybe WFT could get a conditional 6th rounder but even that might be a stretch since the phones aren't ringing off the hook at WFT Park with teams asking about acquiring DH. Maybe WFT can get DH some playing time to get some positive tape on him that could enhance DH's trade value from nothing to something. |

The team looks unprepared and listless. If Jay was still coach people would be lighting him up for how poorly prepared the team is. |

Snyder is 100% to blame for Haskins. The guy just never learns. He's the reason why this franchise is a dumpster fire.

Honestly RR needs to take a knee get healthy let Jack do the heavy lifting then come back when he is cancer free. At this point who cares who the HC is for gameday we need someone who can right the ship and look to the future. |
